Seth Rogen To Produce Porn-Shop Sitcom For Showtime!!
I am – Hercules!!
Seth Rogen, who got his start in American show business via “Freaks and Geeks” and “Undeclared,” is getting back in the TV game with a Showtime sitcom he’s developing about a trio of twentysomethings who peddle pornography.
Matthew Bass, Rogen’s assistant on "Pineapple Express" and "Superbad," will script and produce the project.
Find all of Variety’s story on the matter here.

Last week a season of “The Venture Bros.” was $24.99. Now they’re both $12.99!! (57% Off!!)

The first five volumes of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection are each $25.99!! (60% Off!!)

Come on Herc. Tonight was awesome!!!
-
Rogen + porn + Showtime = I'm kinda interested/
-
overrated....(ducks)
-
The backlash is a-brewin'.
-
Horray for gratuitous Showtime nudity!!
-
Seth Rogen is overrated yet Heroes was awesome? Um yeah keep thinking that as Heroes puts the final nail in it's coffin.
-
This guy just smells like Laugh Track.
-
I had this idea three years ago.. asshat!
-
Jesus. He called into Stern a couple of weeks ago to plug that horrible movie and even admitted that he felt over exposed.
-
up some girl he barely knows.
-
I mean, it's free and all.
-
My favorite character he plays is the sarcastic fat ass in that one movie. That guy has range as an actor.
-
What a one-note tune Seth Rogen is. A one-note dick and fat joke tune.
-
Sounds like someone had Runkle envy so much they base a show on his adventures.
-
i may have to get Showtime for this show! on another note, where are the talk backs for True Blood? That show fooking rocks it!
-
Anyone know how much Zack and Miri has taken in?
-
Haven't we seen enough of the slob yet?
-
Maybe Seth caught some disease from Kevin Smith.
-
The 'let's minimalise' disease?
-
Just under $27 million laughable dollars.
-
Sounds like a one joke premise to me. Lotta guests stars coming in to be creepy or weird I'm sure.
-
Obviously this would be the perfect setting for that sort of thing...except there's no way you could highly offend the customer at the counter by showing him a pic of the centerfold's kidneys! I foresee several comic scenarios in the movie preview booths ("Say, what kinda toilet paper ya got back there, rough or cottony?") as well as someone looking for the perfect package of anal beads ("No one has any pride anymore"). On second thought, nah. And I like Rogen a lot...this just sounds like it'd get stale very quickly. Now if it were a porn shop next to a STRIP CLUB...that would be worth checkin out!
-
Is that on the level? Man, Smith CANNOT catch a money in the bank break.
-
Sometimes just because people notice something they feel that it is a valid criticism. For example, you notice that Seth Rogen typically plays the same basic character. Now just because you have this obvious insight doesn't mean that you also have a valid criticism. Why is it a bad thing that he plays the same basic character? What kind of character would you prefer him to play? It all stems from jealousy and insecurity. You look for something to bash the guy about so you pick this observation and turn it into a criticism. This is all in my upcoming book about internet psychology (not really).
-
I think the problem is that Rogen doesn't really bring anything new to each part. He's the exact same character. Contrast that with a Rudd, who adds little things to create a better performance. It's not that Rogen is bad per se, it's that he's doing something that he perfected back in 40YR Virgin.
-
The problem with this "new breed" of r-rated comedy is they feel the need to cram every second with as many dick and fuck jokes as possible. It loses it shock/laugh value about halfway through.
-
who were horribly abused as children and become sex workers. Sounds hilarious.
-
now that you put it that way, it DOES sound hilarious.
-
A series about the porn industry could be very good. I just don't see it as a Seth Rogen comedy. Maybe something darker like The Wire in tone?
-
in 40 year old virgin... pretty funny in knocked up.. even though he played the same character.. he needs to take a break.. or change his act!
-
was good. It wasn't great, wasn't bad. It was just..good. I wish this was on HBO though.

Read it and weep. -
Currently the most entertaining piece of TV on.
-
An utter atrocity of a man.
-
I don't know why you're going on about his acting, or especially his appearance! He's producing the show. It didn't say who is starring in it. This is like getting pissed at Spielberg for every DreamWorks movie.
-
...when he lacks sufficient testosterone to produce a convincing moustache?
-
Just the idea has got me laughing it's going to be magical! Like the hash I'm high on
