First pic of Edward Norton as twins in Tim Blake Nelson's LEAVES OF GRASS hits the web!

Published at:  Nov 14, 2008 11:33:33 AM CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. This movie pretty much just blipped on my radar screen for the first time a couple weeks ago. I'd heard there was some Ed Norton movie shooting in Louisiana, but I didn't really start looking into it until recently.

This could be the best movie ever... Edward Norton plays twins, both geniuses... one's an academic, a college professor, the other is a pot-grower in Oklahoma... and the pot grower is actually the more brilliant one, creating a strain of marijuana that is the perfect smoke.

So that's Norton playing 2 roles and on top of that they have Melanie Lynskey... who is one of my biggest all time crushes (Kiwi girls really get to me), Susan Sarandon as the Norton twins mother, Kerri Russell as a noodler and, perhaps the single greatest thing ever... Richard Dreyfuss as a drug lord.

Those are just the tip of the iceberg snippets I found out when I interviewed Tim Blake Nelson about this project yesterday. Look for that interview to hit either this weekend or next week, but in the mean time here's a look at Edward Norton in the flick... click to make big!

So I have an acting teacher who plays a rival pot grower in this movie and apparently he shoots pot-Ed Norton with a bow and arrow.

It would be so much cooler, and against cliche, if the long haired tatooed Norton was the prof, and the straight arrow Norton was the pot grower...Could be the best twins movie since Adaptation. Tell me Cage didn't shine in that...

Isn't playing twins the " jumping the shark" of acting? It rarely seems to wrk that well , and only a couple have been great. ( Jeremy Irons in Dead Ringers is one) . I dunno , it just always distracts me for some reason.

the cake so bviously photoshopped, maybe just on the image, not in actual shot.
And maybe the clean-cut Norton is pointing not to his twin but something else, like door, or trashbin, or his stash of pot...

It's shockingly easy to see the seam, but my eyes fall for it when it's in a smaller form. But yes indeed, the Norton on the right seems to be looking a little to the side of the norton on the left. And I agree that the Norton on the left should be the teacher.
