    Ron Livingston, yay!

I just hope there's more of a hook to the story and it's not just a relationship drama... in outer space.

Defying Gravity is based on BBC docu-drama Space Odyssey: Voyage to the Planets, which is the most awesome space docu-drama ever made and it shows that you don't need an overly dramatized story to make this kind of thing interesting to watch. If Voyage to the Planets was a movie it would probably be one of my all time favorites, it’s that good. But you need to watch to original BBC version, not the re-edited US version.

    by obsd

They should cut out that pesky "We'll air it for 6 episodes, (which is just enough to build a fanbase), then cancel it" phase and just give everybody involved with this project a paycheck to walk away. No harm, no foul. Fox gets to not air a sci-fi show, the actors get paid, and the fans don't get let down. Sound like a win-win for everybody involved.

    Outer Space Relationship Drama

    by yomomma

Ugh. I hope it's more than that, because a near future realistic space exploration show could be very cool, if taken seriously. Is it just me, or has the time arrived for some more realistic sci-fi? That's the only thing that bothers me about Fringe, they take a show about a mad scientist, and then completely ignore the laws of physics (how much would they have to pay a grad student to point out the horrendously unrealistic plot points, like someone growing from baby to adult size in minutes with no outside mass?). But we're talking Fox here, so even if it was a cool idea, they'll bastardize it, then cancel it just as people finally start watching. It'll probably be the 9pm Friday night replacement for Dollhouse once that get canceled.

From Band Of Brothers and Office Space? Or is it because this is Coaxial you use his TV credits? If that is the case Band Of Brothers still works.

    Here's the problem

    by sappers forward

Ron is a cool dude, we all like seeing him on screen. Office Space ruled. These days though, unfortunately for us intelligent people, they'll get more ratings with a lame ass over dramatic space space soap. Star trek ruined it for everyone. I just don't see it happening again anytime soon. "It" being a cool space exploration T.V. show that everyone will like and last more than just one season. So instead, we're going to get some stupid drama that could take place in a cave.

    by jacknf

A better transfer of the film than was found on previous releases, an audio commentary track by James Cameron, and a second disc with a WMV-HD copy of the film (T2:EE predates HD-DVD and BLU-Ray so having the film in HD in any form whatsoever was something of a novelty at the time).

    Ronald D. Moore's New Shows...

    by jesussavedin01

The last thing I heard was that Virtuality is airing as a two hour tv movie/backdoor pilot on FOX this January. There's supposed to be webisodes too.

Originally Caprica was going to air as a tv movie/backdoor pilot on SciFi around this time. Then Universal had a press release saying the pilot was so good that they make go right to series instead of the backdoor pilot process. They said if they did this it would delay Caprica until the 2009-2010 season.

There hasn't been an update since. My guess is that Caprica will debut with Stargate: Universe in fall '09.

What? Something new? Why not remake...

    by amy chasing

Earth 2? Or Seaquest? Or a series based on Ice Pirates?

You know it'll happen sooner or later.

But regarding Gravity - just as long as the crew is more believable than those on the Icarus 2 in Sunshine (won't be hard), it might be worth a look.

    Punto...

    by emeraldboy

A docu-drama... is drama based on real events which can feature either real people or actors who look like the people they are playing. A good example of this touching the void. or one day in september. drama docs can feature interviews with people who were there when a certain event takes place and can be bolstered by dramatised version of those real events.
