Didn't Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back cover similar ground with a lot more wit and laughs? And in the end, joke's on them as they're on a quest to see.... The Phantom Menace. Bwahah.

That looked truly awful, in fact adding the Big C back IN may give it some comedic value. Comedic as in funny something you would have expected this to be. This gets a release and yet Trick 'r Treat is treated like the Pedo Uncle at Christmas sat all alone in the other room whilst everyone else tucks into the turkey.

    by continentalop

Although it doesn't bother me that people love the entire Star Wars saga, what does bother me is how much people obsess over it and view if as some kind of defining moment for our generation. And that saddens me. Years from now when our grand children ask us what we did during the war, we'll think they meant Star Wars and say "I stood in line for 8 hours".

the Force is string with this one...for some reason. I know it looked trite and exactly like a movie full of easy Star Wars references and sex jokes, but, well, isn't that exactly what most SW nerds and movie geeks really do with most of their spare time. Is it just me? That better not be crickets I'm hearing. (Fuck, I think it's crickets.) Anyway, why should it be "bad" to potentially enjoy a trailer full of star wars and sex jokes? After all the fear and stories I'd heard, I thought the trailer was great. The movie can still end up sucking, but why so much hate around here? I actually thought the trash compactor scene was genuinely funny. I'm guessing that if it's bad in the end, that the jokes we just saw are it for the movie. Keeping fingers crossed and expectations low. All you haters need to summon all your hatred for Episode 1 and let it flow through you and go and watch this out of revenge.

    by playhouse

I have to plead to the filmmakers of my generation to let Star Wars go. We're now in the positions of power and creativity to make our own films. Every film that comes down the pike now doesn't have to reference Star Wars. It's sadly coming across as very myopic.

    Incidentally MurderMostFowl

    by atomica

My friend's niece plays the girl who employs the Mystery Team to solve the mystery of her parent's murder. MT looks awesome but it's comparing apples and oranges. The premise of Fanboys s TOTALLY different. Fanboys is more of a Roadtrip Geekfest whreas Mystery Team is a Geeky...uh...Mystery. They both look great. ;)

    kungfuhustler84... Derrick Comedy

    by murdermostfowl

What I meant is that Derrick Comedy has had 2 dozen sketches do well on the internet for a couple of years now, so one can guess the writing for their film will be on par with that.
( Not to mention one of the members is a writer for 30 rock )

I'm not saying they're pure comedy gold, but the fanboys guys haven't shown us anything prior to this, so in comparison, they're "proven" writers to me :)

The "Girls are not to be trusted" sketch from Derrick Comedy made me do a spit take the first time I saw it.

    Atomica, agreed... apples to oranges

    by murdermostfowl

Yes, I didn't mean to imply that Roadtrip should compete with Mystery Team I probably should have said "go see this too" rather than "instead of"

That rocks that your neice is the girl who asks them to solve her parent's murder. She delivered those lines perfectly awesome. I laughed so hard when I saw the look on her face.

I just can't get enough of The Derrick Comedy guys. They're so young and have pulled off some brilliant sketches. The writingand the timing have been there since their beginning, they only need some prodcution tweaks and budget for locations, props, etc, and it looks like they got that finally. They're the next generation "Kids In The Hall" in my book.

Sometimes I despair of some of you sanctimonious fuckers on here who have to trash every thing before you've even seen it.
