More X-MEN casting news...
Alright folks, looks like we nailed that Halle Berry (STORM) bit the other day, and ya know... I'm not gonna start screaming about this casting. Halle Berry is not a terrible actress, and who knows exactly what they are going to do to her for the purposes of making her STORM. I just hope the white hair and eyes stay. But for you folks not familiar with what Halle Berry looks like... Here ya go. (BTW, this was the best NON-SMILING pic of her I could find)

On the other end of the stick we have Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, who had her feature debut in AUSTIN POWERS THE SPY WHO SHAGGED ME... and next she'll appear in X-MEN as Mystique. Once again... well... her skin should be blue, her hair color should be different... Ya know... she actually has the look. Now let's just pray she can act! For the whole story go read the story at Variety.Com!!!

but I'm terribly disappointed that the chick from Strange Days won't be playing Storm. Rebecca looks so good I don't care what she does. These are good pics Harry. How 'bout a "page 2 girl" section on the site big guy?
-
The best post in weeks...
-
I'm first! Anyway, hopefully Rebecca is a better actor than her husband. Here's my casting picks for the X-Men movie: Errol Flynn as Wolverine, Ule Brenner as Xavier, James Stewart as Cyclops, Humphrey Bogart as Beast, Betty Page as Rogue, Danny Kaye as Nightcrawler, Steve Reeves as Colussus, Shirley Temple as Shadowcat, Eartha Kitt as Storm, Rita Hayworth as Jean Grey, James Cagney as Iceman, and Sir Lawrence Oliver as Magneto. Casting agents take note!
-
With those two in the movie, all I can say is, thank god for spandex!
-
Halle as Storm? Not completely loving it, but I am more than happy to give the woman a chance. We will see. But a FIRST TIME ACTRESS as ANY of the leads in this film (i.e., Rebecca)? That's just plain stupid, insane, reckless, dumb-ass amateur hour. Acting is a SKILL, kids, and film acting is a WHOLLY SEPERATE skill. Rebecca's good looks are no f'ing excuse. I am not even a casting director, and I could get on the phone tomorrow, and get TWELVE DIFFERENT BABES DE JOUR WITH SERIOUS EXPERIENCE AND ACTING TRAINING WHO CAN ACT. No offense to Rebecca's good fortune, and I wish her the best, but for Singer to whore out to a woman with no feature film experience just because he can put a few butts in seats from her model name value is just disgusting. Hey, Bryan bubba. Gotta clue for you, babe. You can also put butts in seats by hiring somebody WITH EXPERIENCE who's also a babe, and who can help you make an f'ing good film as opposed to a victoria's secret catalog. Hey, Bryan ... you gonna hire her hubby now for Cyke? Or do you have your pants around your ankles with the International Men Catalog looking for "your" Cyclops, because hey ... feature film experience is not a requirement. If Ms. Stamos proves to be good, it still wont' make this anything but a dumb-ass experience. I could personally find a dozen actresses for the role who would be *all but guaranteed* to be good.
-
Is this a movie, or a wet dream?
~damn -
Initially I wasn't thrilled at the idea of Halle Berry playing Storm. But with a body like that who would nitpick over minutiae? The other lass is a looker too! Hallejuah! Anymore updates like these and this site will have to start charging for admission. Anyone gotta cigarette?
-
I fucking hate Halle Berry. Is it my or has she got a sack of pennies in her underpants? Oh, and Sterling Wolfe - quit being a homo.
-
As many will know, I was not overly pleased with the casting of Paquin, or the rumours of Berry. Ex post facto, and especially after seeing the Berry pic here (cheers Harry!) I have to say she does look absolutley right for the part (and I say she keeps the short hair but white- I drew a pic of Storm like that once and thought she looked wicked!). As for Mystique, I really don't know. She certainly looks fit enough, but with the whole shpe-changing thing, she is clearly not the only one playing Mystique, is she?
And am I the only one who sees Luke Perry as Cyclops? And where the heck is Jean? -
If that was the only nice non-smiling photo of Halle Berry you could find, why not cut and paste a head shot? Again, female actors not at all taken seriously on this site. I still wanted Iman for Storm (she's African, she can act well enough to pull it off & she's old enough), but oh well. Halle is a great actor, so maybe it'll work. I'm starting to not care about an X-Men movie at all.
-
I have the utmost confidence that
Halle will be an excellent asset
to the upcoming x-men film! She is
very good actress.Very convincing.
She played a crackhead in the movie,"Jungle Fever".You'd never
believe that it was her! On television,She portrayed Alex Hailey's great grandmother in the movie "Queen"!Believe, the lady can act!!!
rick -
"They have to be able to act" - what a lot of horseshit. Do you sad fools actually think a movie about the fucking X-Men for christ's sake will be some kind of Shakespeare? All they have to do is be able to look good and say "Go get 'em" or something reasonably convincingly. I think these two fit the bill. If you think this movie is gonna be anything other than a lame superhero movie, you are fucking stupid. And if you think it won't mess with your preconceived notions of how your beloved comicbook characters should look and act then you are even more divorced from reality.
-
Wasn't Rebecca the bearded lady in "Dirty Work"? You know, that fantastic Norm McDonald vehicle that bombed?
-
Halle Berry is ok. Would have liked Bassett. As far as whatshername, Mystique will probally have so little screen time, I don't think it will really matter.
I hope the rumor of Charlize Theron for Jean Grey is true(which by the way I said a long time ago).
Is Toad still in the newest draft? 3 words for you-BuscemiBuscemiBuscemi -
let me makle a wild prediction, to put it mildly - this movies gonna suck. remember the brief 'generation x' tv series a couple of years back? I'm thinkin this flicks gonna be 'bout the same overall quality, x-cept instead of all no-namers, we got b-actors. halle berry? rent rich mans wife or bulworth. stamos/mystique - yeah, sukit. i'm not bitter or 'hatin', but i got that feelin i got back in the day when comix went from 75c to $1.50 - that 'i cant phuk w/marvel' feeling. enjoy the flick!
-
Why do people feel the need to come in here to bitch? Okay, you may not agree with certain casting (at first I was against Paquin as Rogue, but then I THOUGHT ABOUT IT!), but there is absolutely no need to gripe about it. It's not any in here's decision so don't take it out on us! As for whether certain actors are appropriate for certain roles in this movie, well I'm a believer of giving them the benifit of the doubt. I was more than willing to give arnie a chance in B & R (one of my worse judgements I assure you!), but I felt the same about the casting of Clooney (he could've been the best if not for that crappy script). Face it, these people are cast now- saying who they should've had is not relevant- wanting these people to do well is.
-
Couldn't resist! :-)
-
Yeah, that's what we need, just think of the 'shower scene' Singer did in Apt Pupil, but this time with a wet 'n shaggy Beast, Wolveroonie with his adamantium, err...shaft. Introduce an underage Eastern girl to the mix and the hijinks ensue...
Get ready for the clothespin, folks, this ones gonna be a stinker...
-
Halle Barry's actually a decent actress (see "Losing Isiah"), but Rebecca Romjin-Stamos hasn't really done enough to warrant a decision. But y'know what? I'm not worried. They're both being directed by the guy who got good performances out of Stephen Baldwin and that mouth-breather Brad Renfro. I'm actually looking forward to it.
-
yeah man, you're right. I ain't no bigtime director or producer or casting agent, so I should just shut my pie hole & take it... right? is there anywhere else I can vent my frustrations more constructively? peace!
-
Man a lot of you people are whiners. This is going to be a good movie. Of course, its gonna deviate from the comic book(sorry fanboys) and of course its gonna have some people in it with more looks than talent. But thats because its aimed at the general audience, money spenders, not the people that bitch about everything like you. Oh and about Mystique, remember shes a shape changer, so it wont be rebecca whatever playing her the entire time. What im really disappointed about is that wrestler guy as Sabertooth. I personally wanted Gary Oldman.
-
Didn't this Rebecca do a spot on MTV a while back?? Man, she was lame... Then again, at least Singer has the guts to cast an unknown in the role - I hope he manages to get some others in too (as long as they are good!). I guess in order to keep the budget below Titanic levels, he needs to cast some unknowns - just hope this doesn't turn into a big screen Power Rangers!!
-
So when do we get the cheesecake near-naked pics of the MEN in the flick? C'mon Harry, this is crap and insult those of your readers who want to see near-naked-MALE-sex-kittens
-
Once again, Sterling Wolfe and I have the same opinion. Could be because we're both actors and are familiar with the business. I don't know. But I feel the same. Berry isn't the best choice, but a good choice. Romjin-Stamos is fucking LAUGHABLE! I never thought I'd say it, but I'd have actually preferred the vacuous Jeri Ryan for this role. She can't act either, but she'd probably at least be able to poke her head out of a paper bag, whereas Rojin-Stamos wouldn't even realize she was in one. Singer's truly outdone himself this time. He's actually made the casting of Dougray Scott look like a good idea. Please disregard any remarks made by me in his defense, in any of my earlier posts. I retract them. Get ready for Ninja Turtles/Batman&Robin syndrome all over again kids. This is gonna be a train wreck.
-
My personal pics for Storm are Iman or Angela Basset (sp?). I would've liked to have seen Fred Ward as Wolvie. Just watch "Catch a Deadly Spell" or "Remo Williams" and you'll see what I mean. Wolvie is supposed to be crotchity, older than tater tots or dirt (your choice), so why do we have this young pretty boy being cast as Wolvie. Rutger Hauer would've been excellent as Magneto. Movies SHOULD NOT be cast for the sake of toy(little boys) or poster(teeny-bopper girls) sales.
-
Am I the only one to notice that the only villian cast with a good actor (or _A_ actor, for that matter) was Magneto? I think the villians are being cast more for their looks, rather than their acting talents (a wrestler, a model. Who's next? I'll wager they aren't actors.) Remember, Magneto is really the only one we're going to need to pay attention to. As with the comics/animated series, I feel the villians will serve as nothing more than a means of destruction. To battle with the X-men; Characters we are not supposed to want to hear/see act, but rather just enter into mindless action. Yet the characters we _ARE_ going to be paying attention to, are all being succinctly cast with talented actors who can bring something to their roles. While Halle is a pretty good actress, Angela Bassett would have brought more power to the role. Angela has already played a tough looking woman in Tina Turner. But I'll reserve passing judgment on Halle's performance until I see something involving her acting in this role.
-
Homina-homina-homina-homina!!!
-
Angela would be ten times better for this part!! There's something about imagining Halle trying to be tough that makes me think "aw, how cute". But hell, I'll be too fucking busy watching her tight ass body in that costume to think!
-
Halle Berry still has all of her grace that acquired during her younger days in pageants. She physically resembles and moves like Storm much more than Angela Bassett (although Bassett does have the perfect voice). I haven't seen Iman lately, but I just have to think that she is a little old for the part (although she has the ideal look for it). If given the correct hair-weave, contacts, and a decent tan, Berry will have everything save Storm's height. I think most will be pleasantly surprised. On FOX's Gen-X TV movie... besides having a seemingly senseless story, the main flaw was that the producers seemed to invest too much money in having a few good special efffects. Had they instead put the money into a plethora of cheap effects, there could have been more comic-book like action (which I was looking for). They picked a good person to play the White Queen, though...
-
Not that the other actors involved are giants, but she's not going to look right standing next to Dougray Scott. A pretty much the second in command of the team (after Cyke) she must have a commanding physical presence. Iman could pull it off physically, but I don't think she's much of an actress. By the way, I saw Rebecca Romijn on Just Shoot Me, and she handles comedic stuff pretty well. But this casting idea leads me to belive that there is not much meat to the Mystique part other than standing around looking cool. Oh well. If they're going to go with models, why not pick the bitchy Naomi Campbell to play Storm? Commanding, has AN accent at least, tall, gorgeous, has fared pretty well in the few features she's done and likes to boss people around.
-
I have faith in Bryan singer. I have seen two of his movies, and I think this guy can pull it off. It's like someone said earilier #1 most likely the meatier villain dialogue will be chomped on by Sir Ian McKellan (a very capable actor). #2 the wrestler and the model are probably there for their looks. So what's wrong with that? If their parts aren't very big or demanding, why not use people who the director thinks look right? Personally, I don't want to see a movie that is EXACTLY like the comic book. I want to see a movie that takes the good aspects of the comic (the story, the tension, the characters) and translates them to the big screen in a new and interesting way. Movies such as the Punisher and Captain America failed not because they strayed from the comic, but because they had suck ass scripts, dialogue, characters and situations. So, if Magneto doesn't walk around in red tights and a helmet, I'm not going to freak. The same goes for the other characters, as long as the costumes look cool, and the movie holds my interest, I'll be happy.
-
Dennis... I hear you. However, if Sylvester Stallone (who is muscular and defined, although a pretty short guy in real life) could be made to look like a big fella' in each of his films, I don't think Bryan Singer will have a problem adding a few inches to Berry's height.
-
Halle would'nt be my first choice, Angela would be but I have a "wait and see attitude about her". BUT she is too short. Storm suppose to be almost Amazon like. So let's hope they have some high platforms for the gal.
As far as mystique??? With a body like that, the gal does'nt have to act. Just have her stand around and look fine. Side's, if she's changing from person to person, I'm sure they'll have lot's of other folks playing with her . . . um . . .I mean "playing her". -
Am I the only one who thinks it would have been super cool to see Julianne Moore as Mystique? I'm sure it would be a lot better than Ms. House of Style here. What's next? Jesse Camp as Cyclops? Oh well, maybe I can still cross my fingers and hope for Julianne as Jean.
-
First Anna Paquin as Rogue... Now Halle Berry as Storm... What's with this? The thing I always liked about the X-Men chicks was how they weren't little cuteypies with superpowers, but were rather just as old as their male counterparts. I'm deeply pissed off.
-
that M&M's commercial where she is in the pool with that floating piece of candy. My guess is that Halle urinated in the pool and I bet that ended up melting the M&M.
-
With Berry and stamos, this will be thee greatest jerk-off flick ever. Stand back Stagliano,Leslie and Siffreddi. Your European girls eating each other out and tossing your salads aint goint to compare to this flick.
I am taking two, count that 2 rolls of toilet paper to this flick
And be careful not to sit in front of me unless u want to get splattered. And i dont mean by Gallaghers watermelkon
-
It amazes me, how all these people can tell how bad a movie is going to be just by the casting. If you think about it, not many people thought mike keaton would make a good batman, although some may differ, it turned out that batman and batman returns were actually good movies. and about the age thing. this movie is supposed to take place near the begging of the team's formation. i think what they are trying to do, is to make sure they get people that look obviously much younger than proffesor x, so the idea of teacher and student can be seen very clearly. until we get a review of the script and see the final product, no one is really gonna know if this movie is a bunch of bull shit.
-
Halle Berry will make a fine Storm. She has the look required to match the comics and her acting talent is strong enough to pull it off. I just hope that they cast everyone else properly...
-
Just for the record, Harry, I'd like to see Jude Law in his Calvins and Rupert Everett in a jock strap next time you mention them in casting news.
Thanks in grateful anticipation. -
First off, ever since I saw him in the crow, I though MIchael Wincott was Wolverine. He's a little taller then he should be, but he has the rough demeanor down to a science, He was also in Aliens Resurection, Robin Hood Prince of Theives, etc. As for Ctyclops, I'd like to see the guy from JAG, that crappy show on TV or maybe Val Kilmer or a buffed up Kyle Mclaughlin. Jean Grey would be played by Molly Ringwald ( been in love with her since I was 13 and saw 16 Candles) or Angie Everheart or even Jayne Brooks from Chicago Hope. I want Iceman in this movie damn it. ANd i would want Thomas Jane from Thursday and Deep Blue Sea. Denise Richards would make a good Rougue. And finally I want Gambit in the flick too. And no way could Kaenu pull this off. I owuld go with New Orlean native Harry Connick JR. Of course, I am sure 99 % of you hate who I picked and thats fine, its just my opinion.
-
I'm amazed at how people are quick to unfairly judge those who have not had many screen roles in the past. Does this make them bad actors? I don't know, why don't we ask Lucas? I would hate to have seen him pass up on Ford just because he was an unknown.
So what if Stamos has not acted much. That doesn't mean she's no good. And I must agree with a previous statement that Mystique will probably be more of a stand-in villian than a major speaking role. And who better to play Sabretooth than a wrestler. Don't they have the same mentality? Finally, Storm is not some viscious, bad-ass bitch. She is a leader, yes, but she is a compassionate person. Read the comics and you will see. In fact, she is my least favorite character, because I get tired of reading her sappy dialogue.
-
...the biggest bomb of ALL time.
-
ill never watch that commercial again without laughing! lol
-
..but I have to add my vote with the other women. If your going to use skin shots for casting news, I want it all the way around! I mean, come on, we know McGregor's going to be in Episode II, but still...otherwise how about shots that are more about attitude and less about meat.
-
In the Marvel Universe Mystique is in her 50's or 60's. Given, she is youthful looking, but she has already given birth to Graydon Creed who is at least 35 years old. But if she can wield a gun and look good, I'm not complaining...
-
On my topic of Stupid I have to get Sterling Wolfe as the guinea pig. The man who complains way too much for something he should'nt be doing in the first place. Number one: Get a clue pal, don't expect too much out of this movie, if you complain now, you will be complaining even more when it comes out. Number two: shut the hell up already, Bryan Singer didn't actually cast these people, the casting director did, he might have some sort of a say in it, but otherwise he doesn't go out and pick them himself. Sterling Wolfe in the near future please refrain from being an idiot, you might be back here again complaining, I could read your FUTURE pal, complaining does nothing but gives you a bleeding ulcer, and that could be pretty painful.
-
Berry has experience playing regal women (see "Solomon and Sheba") and won the coveted role of Dorothy Dandridge over big names Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston. I will forgive her Baps and other career missteps. Lookwise, A great deal will depend on the Storm they use in the movie. Not sure long white hair will work (too campy?) in the grounded reality vision that Singer seems to be establishing. The shorter cut would work. Shiny black costume, she's got it covered.
Romijn-Stamos is an unknown quantity. I'm trusting Singer to have tested her before signing her. We may all be surprised. I figure if they are going to be casting Senator Kelly, perhaps we will see Mystique in her Raven Darkholme persona as part of the National Security Council (Magneto's inside source?) She would have been a great Val Cooper. As far as casting for looks: Mystique is described as a Iridescent Blue Scaled Skinned, Yellow eyed shapechanger. Romijn's may be completely bereft of her good looks, a fact that Singer must have considered. Don't judge her acting ability by how they ask Ricky MArtin if he's wearing underwear, it's just not applicable.
At least now I can have Angela bassett as Stevie Hunter or Charlotte Jones.
jinX

I don't reall follow The X-Men. That's not saying that I don't like them. What I have seen is really cool, but I am not familar with the charactors, so I ca't really comment. This is just to ask if Harry would consider a gallery of such pictures, to be updated each week! We could have big debates about what films we would like to see this beautiful ladies cast in. What do you think?!
-
X-men was a pretty cool cartoon on TV, good stories and ok artwork. Im looking forward to seeing a big screen incarnation of this comic (Patrick S as DR.X - awesome) however you only have to look at other comic "adaptions" to realise that most of them suck in a big way. Ok, the photos were good, and a film full of attractive women in jumpsuits works for me as eye-candy but if the film sucks-ass well, why would you bother paying to see it. I mean Batman 1, 2 and yes I liked 3 were ok, Blade was good, but take a look at the others. They are only one step above films made from concepts that were originally computer games - and they reek like shit!
-
According to the original Marvel Universe series, Storm is 5' 11" (which is pretty consistent with the other women listed in the catalogue series). Mystique is 5' 10", Wolverine is 5' 3" and Sabretooth is 6' 2" (that's right, 6' 2"). This would mean that Mrs. Stamos is the only person technically close to the correct character height. The performers playing both Wolverine and Sabretooth are both too tall (Tyler Mane, especially). However, these height inconsistencies will most likely be meaningless in the larger scheme of the film. I say this because if Sylvester Stallone (who is 5' 7") can look six feet tall, then Halle Berry (who is also 5' 7") can do so as well.
-
I think that too much speculation into future films could hurt this franchise. With emphasis on growing into the part-chronically that is- it seems quality is being sacrificed for producing the best movie possible. As much as Stewart IS Professor X,Angella Basset IS Storm. Evidence was rightly cited in the example of Strange Days where Basset delivers a fight scene worthy of any male counterpart. Is Romaine-Stamos an unknown as far as talent is concerned? I have no idea. I am disappointed in the casting of Berry though. Her voice and prescence are not nearly as commanding nor as regal as Angella Basset's-it's a shame.
As far as Anna Paquin...she'd make a better Kitty Pride-another miscast-this isn't Generation X is it?
Hopefully Singer's skill compensates for the obvious mistakes in casting.
I will say that the Dougray Scott casting is interesting-will he built enough by the start of shooting? Prosthetics?
Here's my cast for what it's worth(obviously disregarding salaries):
Mystique: Michelle Pfieffer
Gambit: Matthew McConnaghy(sp?)
Cyclops: Someone mentioned Val Kilmer-I agree
Jean Grey: Heather Graham
Rogue: Nicole Kidman
Wolverine: Chris Benoit(one wrestler is as good as another-it's not range that counts -it's rage!)
Magneto: Daniel Day Lewis
Sabretooth: Sid Vicious
-
Can someone take that pic of Berry and superimpose white hair on her like someone did with the Dougray Scott Pic?? I bet she will look great. I do worry that her acting ability will be lacking, but I have every faith in Singer to do this thing right.
-
Nobody even mentioned or noticed my casting pics? Geez, I thought his was supposed to be fun. None of us has any input in any casting decisions, so why not have some fun? Cast your dream team. Send it to my email address, I want to hear your picks! So what if the suck factor on this movie is high? I might point out that Singer's "Apt Pupil" was less than a perfect adaptation of Stephen King's novella. I'm not expecting too much. Try it. I didn't expect too much from "The Faculty" so I was entertained by it in the end. Only one scene bothered me, and that was the "too cool for school" kid turns into Mr. Peabody and ends up having Mr. Wizard's chemistry set in his parent's basement. Lower your standards, don't read the spoilers, kiss your seven bucks goodbye, and let yourself be entertained. And email me your dream X-Men cast, goddammit!
-
Thank you for explaining me how my business works. At my next feature film audition, I will be sure to notify the Casting Director that they have casting authority, because they will be thrilled and excited to hear this, as it will save them a lot of time they've been wasting. Respectfully, you might wanna extend your kindness to Bryan Singer on this one, and save him from embarrassment, however, because somebody apparently played an April Fool's joke on him, and gave him a memo that he has full authority on Casting without studio veto power as long as he keeps the budget under 75 or 80(?). Damn. But you know what? Silly me too! When I read for the part of Cyclops in Roger Mussenden's office on this project (he's the CD), I should have told *him* that he had casting authority, because he too, missed that! Who woulda thunkit! But once again, Ichabod, I want to thank you for helping me out, and explain to me not only how my industry works, but on the casting of projects that I've read for 4th leads in. I sure appreciate it! Keep me posted!
-
I am reminded of a line from the player, from a movie producer to a studio executive, "Don't worry you'll get a tit". That's ALL women are in hollywood film ladies. Tits. Period. Harry is being kind, compared to the treatment these girls generally get. Don't worry though, recently guy's have begun to be treated "equally", how else can one explain Brad Pitt? My kingdom for a story, interesting characters, and some kinetic plot development (ie Story Pacing). Oh and to the pathetic geeks with the hard-ons, if you want porn, rent porn. There is nothing sadder then a guy who goes to PG-rated movies for his dose of TnA...
-
Have any of you read an x-book in the last five years. WeaponX they are not. I'd be more worried about the acting skills if the source material were more up to par. I saw MS. Stamos on Dennis Miller and she has the brains to be an actress. Halle could be a model.
-
I'd make a great Wolverine, I'm hairy as all get out, I'm a smartass with a big mouth, I'm fairly buff, and man do I like a good cigar.
-
She should be a good Mystique, especially since all she has to do is morph into other actors.
As for Halle Berry, well...
I WANT VANESSA WILLIAMS TO BE STORM!!!
I want Gary Sinise to be Wolverine, too.
and Magneto is TOO OLD and DOESN'T LOOK LIKE MAGNETO. -
If they do make an X-Men movie part 5 or something. They sould pick George Clooney to play the part for an older Wolverine. That would be damn cool! He could pull it off very well.
-
Wolverine is already the older version of Wolverine. He's the oldest member of the team. He fought beside Captain America in the forties, ferchrissake.
George Clooney neither looks nor acts like Wolverine. Wolverine is more like the way Burt Reynolds was in Deliverance. BTW, if you haven't seen the movie, don't think that he was ANYTHING like he was in the rest of his films.
I think Danzig wanted the role of Wolverine, and although I'm sure he relates to the character, I don't think it would look right.
Gary Sinise would make a great Wolverine. I always picture that scene in the convenience store in the early 80s when Logan is looking at the porn mags. He's probably the first Marvel character to even openly look at porn.
If anything, Clooney still looks a bit young to be Wolverine.
...and speaking of age, what is the deal with Magneto? Okay, so he's a fine actor, but, Jesus Christ, Magneto in a walker? Just because someone is a good actor, they think he can be anyone? How about NOT.
-
From what I've been reading here the casting SUCKS. The only sure thing is Patrick Stewart as The Professor. Ian McKellan(sp?) as Mageto is horrible, bad, INSANE. The rest well it seems bad to okay, we'll see. I realize they're are thinking a franchise so they want actors to reprise their roles. That's something some actors just do not want. So with this the casting must go to second or third choices. I do have one question though--Has anyone associated with this move ever read an X-Men comic book or(God forbid) a series of them?
-
Okay, so I spelled Magneto wrong. Sorry. But the content is something to think about. One other thing, there is alot to be said about considering unknowns.
-
Despite what y'all think about the casting woes, you can bet that Bryan Singer directing and Patrick Stewart acting in a lead role will rescue this movie from damnation. How many Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes would have fallen flat on their faces had Stewart not shouldered the whole show with his superb acting? 'Nuff said.
This will date me. Does ANYONE remember a SuperFriends TV movie that had no-names everywhere in the movie? One of the best scenes was seeing Hawkman chase down the villain while waterskiing. With these huge wings on! It was a sight.
