UPDATED !!! Live in Chicago? Want to see the highly anticipated vampire flick LET THE RIGHT ONE IN? Capone has the details!!!
UPDATED--Hey folks. I'm shutting this contest down at midnight tonight (CST) because I've already gotten enough entries to fill this contest 10 times over, no exaggeration. Good luck everyone. I can't wait to read what your favorite vamp flicks are.
Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here, poking my head into the sunlight for the first time since the Chicago International Film Festival (which actually ends tomorrow, but who's counting). I said I was taking a little break from contests for a couple of weeks while I covered the CIFF, and as soon as my eyes popped out over the edge of the gopher hole, people started coming at me with screening offers. We'll start out slow today and work our way into a pretty major contest in the next couple of days.
As for now, I've got a handful of passes to one of the most anticipated scare films of the year. Now I love me some vampire movies, and I literally have been hearing about and anticipating this movie for most of 2008, and now that I've finally seen it, I can tell you that LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is one of the most unique and emotionally satisfying vampire films I've ever seen. And it's certainly one of the scariest things you'll see this year.
The screening will take place Thursday, November 6 at a theater in Chicago at 7:00 pm. Winners will be told in an email from me the location of the screening.
This will not be an exclusive Ain't It Cool event; so if you win you'll need to get to the theater early. I've been told this has not been substantially overbooked, so as long as you arrive with time to spare, you should be good to get in.
Here's how you win. Send me and email at capone@aintitcoolmail.com, with the subject line YOU HAVE TO INVITE ME IN!!! In the body of the email, I need your full name, whether or not you are bringing a guest (if you don't say +1 in your email, I'll assume you are flying solo), and the name of your all-time favorite vampire movie. Don't get clever or pick a movie that isn't a vampire movie; I'm looking for fangs, people--fangs and blood.
If there's even an iota of a chance that you won't be able to make this screening don't enter. I've been given about 50 seats to fill, so every winner needs to show up or risk being labeled a colossal douche nozzle by me. I may even have to ban you from future screening if you win and then don’t' show up. This movie is too good to miss.
Good luck, fang bangers!

OR cares to see- Bravo...now get those tickets for Bond 22 ASAP! And set it up at Muvico

Vampires jumped the shark when the flaming nipples on the beanpole tomboy squid drank a beer and cheated on his fridge.
-
It's nothing that can be nailed down to just one genre. It's pretty amazing. Best way to go into it is cold, knowing nothing - but definitely see it.
-
Its supposed to be real good. Evil children scare me.
-
It's not really all that spectacular. But it'll be way better than the American remake, that's for damn sure
-
I saw it at the Chicago Film Festival and it's great, but it's not a masterpiece and is getting over-hyped. If you're looking for a not-your-typical vampire movie that is grounded in reality, free from gothic cliches, and more about the lonely day to day survival than a romantic glorification....see Near Dark! Let the Right One In also provides these things.

I scored a copy of the DVD through my company and have to say, this movie lived up to every expectation.

Can somebody bring this movie to bufu Columbus. please.
-
I am working that night. I love vampire movies and I really want to see this.
-
"Twilight" doesn't hold a candle to this sassy Swedish flick...not even a mock-up torch. It's definitely under-hyped, considering most aren't even aware of this flick's existence, but it's worth a peek to see what the critics have been raving about in this indie gem...it's a surprising refreshing discovery...

freaking Miami
-
Its an excellent movie while you watch it, but its a truly horrifying one once you've had time to digest what you've seen. Capone, make sure this is shown on a cold, dark night.
-
Clearly you should go over to the Michael Bay forums (I'm sure they exist somewhere).

I wanted to see this last week for the CIFF, but had other obligations and am so glad that its back so soon. Now I just hope the other CIFFs i missed: good, bad, weird and the wrestler come back around soon also!
-
and I almost want to enter so I can see it again! Seriously, if you are someone who loves a good character based movie, a coming of age story, and a little bit of gore...then see this movie. I love how the douches were the first to post on this talkback. Don't listen to them!

Who the fuck is Michael Bay?
-
Trailer turned me off; looks like another epic produced by the Sci-Fi channel.
-
...maybe the rest of the world is as bored with "vampire" bullshit as I am.
