Here's The Teaser For The FRIDAY THE 13th Revamp...

Published at:  Oct 22, 2008 11:42:45 AM CDT

Merrick here...

A teaser for the Michael Bay produced/Marcus Nispel directed FRIDAY THE 13th aired last night during Spike TV's Scream Awards. Here's an embed for your consideration.

No one can tell me from whence this specific embed originated...but it's the best transfer I could find...so apologies in advance if we're inadvertently swiping your material.

Footage from WATCHMEN also aired on the show; interesting we've heard so little dialogue from the film thus far. You can jump to the WATCHMEN footage HERE.

    by theseeker7

"If you wanna see (blah blah blah).. then you come to the Scream Awards!!"

*Cue legally retarded 16 year old girls in the audience to start screaming*

And so I'm assuming both of those people are in the movie, one of which I recognize from "Supernatural". So, that's the typical shit formula, right? Put together the most unnecessary and unwelcome horror movie remake of the year and just stick a couple actors from the WB or CW in it, yea? Because it would seem it's not the first time I've noticed this pattern.

    remakes

    by spectre007

Has there ever been a GOOD remake? I'm really asking. Anybody seen one? I don't mean "re-imaginings," which are bullshit anyway, or new movies from the same source material, like Manhunter and Red Dragon, I mean bona fide remakes. In the next few years we'll get totally unneeded remakes of Clash of the Titans, The Last Starfighter, and a bunch of others. So, fellow readers, what remakes are actually good?

i tried watching...i think it was the 5th one maybe (i have the collection on DVD)...its the one where he digs Jason up in the beginning, stabs him with a metal fence post...and it acts as a lightning rod that revives Jason (hi-fucking-larious). anyway...i forgot how atrociously BAD some of these films were/are....i DID have fun with it though, some of the Friday the 13th films fill that "so BAD its GOOD" formula perfectly...its a "i love to love to hate it" kinda movies.

    by enderandrew

The source material isn't untouchable. The problem is you can't just do a direct sequel at this point because of Hell, Jason X, and Freddy vs Jason. This "remake" is more of a continuation of sorts. Let the slasher fans have another slasher film with their icon. If you don't like slasher films, then why care? I think there have been very few decent slasher films. Even if this blows, it will be on par with most of the genre.

From what i have reckoned it is a conglomeration of the first 3 films and not a continuation which still means it's going to suck. I don't see why they couldn't just make some more sequels , there doesn't have to be continuity with Jason X.( never stopped them before ). This just aggravates me to no end..... ( plus why not hire Kane Hodder? the guy they got to play Jason makes him look like he's 5'8" and is a burned former GQ model. Netflix for me , I refuse to support more uneeded remakes.

I think most people agree that Cronenberg's The Fly and Carpenter's The Thing are the exceptions to the rule. Some think Snyder's Dawn of the Dead is decent (including me, but still like the original better). 3:10 to Yuma is pretty good, and DePalma's Scarface is a damn good remake (reimagining? how do we define these things?) I also think the Manchurian Candidate was well-done and entertaining. But the concensus is that most horror remakes are just a waste of fucking human ingenuity.

That Jason ran in parts 2, 3, and 4? He even walked really fucking fast in that one scene in part 6. He started walking in 7. But by then the series was really into the supernatural realm anyway. At least parts 2, 3, and 4 happened within the same week.

The new "Jason" is played by Derek Mears who is 6'5. He's taller than Kane Hodder by 2 inches. Derek Mears also isn't a fat ass like Kane Hodder, Derek actually works out. So I don't see how Kane can make him "look like he's 5'8" and is a burned former GQ model". Maybe in the waist size since Kane is like a 44 now, but not in height.

    by tigertim

A running Jason is nothing new. For those newbies who grew up with a lumbering Kane Hodder, you've missed the glory years that the remake is tipping the hat to.

In parts 2, 3 and 4, Jason remained silent, still, stealthful, and RAN HIS FUCKING HEAD OFF at the end. THAT'S why Jason was always scary to me from 1981 - 1984. Nothing like a mindless killing machine RUNNING after you with the intent of getting his mitts on you.

This is the best creative decision the new producers could have made, and as a die hard F13th fan from the beginning, I thank them.

    TCM Remake

    by mr. profit

Had it been called TCM 5, no one would even care and people would consider it a decent slasher movie. But since it's a remake, people complain about it endlessly. Marcus Nispel did a good job, and Jessica Biel played one of the better horror movie final girl's that we have seen in a while. As a remake, it's nothing like the original in terms of tone and the look. But as a sequel, it looked better than it had any right to (given it's meager budget) and it was fast paced and even had R Lee Ermey. What more could any self respecting slasher fan want? This film looks like fun. And if the online buzz is true (that it features the most gratuitious sex and violence of any Friday film) I guess it will give the fans what they are looking for. I even heard there is a nasty sleeping bag kill in this one. So I'm there basically.

I still say Carpenter's 'The Thing' is not a remake..

    by darth macchio

..but a more faithful version of Campbell's original short story, "Who goes there?" (one of the greatest horror story titles ever). In terms of story, the 50's version changed everything but the bare-bones concept (alien invasion), the general location (inhospitable cold and remoteness) and maybe some of the names of the characters. I actually have a copy of Campbell's story and Carpenter's work is a direct translation of that story and not a remake of the original "The Thing from Another World". Only a small percentage of Carpenter's work was added to the original narrative and it was updated of course (Campbell's story takes place in the 40's or 50s I believe whereas Carpenter's takes place "in the present" when it was filmed so basically sometime in the early 80's.

...The Car! Yes, that one. The one with James Brolin and the black demon car with the greatest horn ever. It takes place in the mid-west and there's even a white-trash asshole character built into the story! Plus, the scene where you see The Car coming from far away by its lights as Brolin's girlfriend gets more and more scared saying she can hear the engine and the lights get brighter as The Car gets closer...and then what happens! Asskickery from the 70s! natch! Get down on it!

just kidding, I think its about damn time they let him move at killer speed. Though I think it is likely there will still be moments when he does that strut (carrying a machette of course) which we know and love. Maybe he was just really angry in this particular scene, perhap he stumbled upon the youngins using mom's head as a vollyball or something (they were kinda rough with it). Anyway you know that last scene ends with him cutting that girl clean in half all the way from her raised hand, down her arm and then straight to the ground! The first kill in the trailer was sort of weak but the 2nd was promising.

    Jared Padalecki is really obnoxious

    by reflecto

There was no need to remake this. F13 and Jason can go on forever without a "reboot" as long as you attempt at least the quality of scares and tension that the first two films had, or the gonzo shocks of Jason Lives, or both.

The most shocking and startling thing they could have done with this franchise is hired another visionary like Ronny Yu, but someone much more subtle and creepy, to do a straight, classic slasher - creepy Mancini-like music, shadows, noises in the night, silence on the soundtrack at times, and simple stalking, fear and murder. With almost no self-reflexive irony. If they did it like that-like 1 and 2-they would do well.

I think this will flop the way the Halloween remake abortion did (which thankfully led to the Weinsteins declaring they would not continue with the 'remake' track for Halloween).

    by tylerdurden3395

The flash of Jason's bed was kinda cool. Like Goldilocks and the Three Bears and shit. Friday the 13th is like a Grimm Fairy Tale anyway. Don't go into the woods and fornicate or a mongoloid will hack you up. The floorboard scene was kinda weak although the glimpse of Jason was kinda awesome. My fave Jason was Part 3-D Jason. Jason RAN in that one and FAST. The final "dream" scene in 3 when Jason comes back to life with blood streaming down his face and comes after Dana Kimmell gave me nightmares when I was a kid, so I got no problems with Fast Jason. Look, they can remake, reimagine, reboot, restart, retool the series all they want; as long as it's got Jason hacking the shit out of horny teens, that's all I want from a Jason Movie.

    by wintocha67

Would lie down and take it from anyone, machete or supernatural or what? You find a head you'd be like "WTF? LOL" and when a machete stabs up from the floor you'd be, "I'm gonna bust you up biotch" and that'd be from the girl. The guy would be ripping up the floor boards to beat the mofo to death with.

because he's on Spike, so he probably thought a beer-guzzling blonde would come out and teach him how to tell if a prostitute is really a cop. And, she'd have a lot of boobage. Wooh! That or the "Wooh" light lit up. As for those two teenagers. They probably just finished having sexual relations. They had it coming.

The series is an anomaly. Great villain, generally creepy atmosphere, some terrific, suspenseful moments, plentiful laughs and scares, but they're ultimately TERRIBLE movies, all of 'em. It doesn't make sense. Unlike Zombie's Halloween last year, you can't screw this series up because there isn't a competent film in the bunch. I like parts 2 and 6, but they're not "good," just better than the rest. I look forward to this because I know I'll enjoy it regardless of how it turns out.

"Has there ever been a GOOD remake?" Some more: _His Girl Friday_ was a remake of _The Front Page_, _The Magnificent Seven_ was a remake of _Seven Samurai_, the Clooney _Ocean's Eleven_ was a remake of the Sinatra _Ocean's Eleven_, and the famous version of _The Maltese Falcon_ was a remake of two earlier versions. (But good *horror* remakes? Um, that is a bit harder ....)

Naturally I wont PAY to see this, Ill be happy to wait a few years until its floating around the sky film channels and even then Ill only watch bits and bobs. Seriously, that footage is so amazingly bland and boring-nothing at all there to get a film goer already bored of the Jason mythos by film 5 to come back for another look. Nearly ever sequel after part 1 was a remake.

    by mr. profit

Part 2 was a remake of 1 but with Jason instead of his mom. Part 3 did the same shit but in 3D. Part 4? Same as part 3 but with better Tom Savini effects and gore. Part 5, same shit but with an Ambulance driver as Jason. 6, same shit but with Zombie Jason. 7, same shit but with Jason vs Carrie. 8, same shit but had Jason in NYC. 9, another attempt to reinvent a simple formula needlessly. 10, see 9. 11 stupidity which featured the same shit but with a cameo by Freddy Kreuger. So I don't get why people are complaining about a remake now. The movie seems to have taken the best elements of the original and rolled them into 1 movie. So how is that bad? Is it because Michael Bay produced it and you guys can't enjoy anything with his name on it?

i may be wrong...but they never intended for Friday the 13th to be a on-going series, did they???...originally Jason Voorhees was never gonna make an appearance outside of his brief moments in the 1st film, or so i thought. i think because of the success of the first film they had to think of a way to keep it going...so they thought, "hey!!!...just have that kid Jason, now grown up, be the killer" (apparently sitting on his ass for years and years, and what was he doing during the events of the first one???...apparently watching his MOTHER get her head chopped off). i think the Friday the 13th films became a series for $$$ purposes and NOTHING more...how else do you explain the HORRIBLE ideas for bringing him back time and time again...same goes for the Nightmare on Elm Street movies. dont get me wrong...i love em all, own em all...its good campy fun.

...by churning out this drivel. In the current economic climate putting this film out is a no-brainer. All the fans who lapped up god-knows-how-many previous piles of this steaming dreck will queue up again, like the performing monkeys they are and hand over their dollars for another turd that has been polished so that it resembles a turd in a hockey mask. Clearly some of you are excited about the fact that this is a runny turd, rather than a walkie. By attending this shitfest you are only encouraging producers (who treat you like shit anyway because none of these films are actually any good and that's what makes them laugh sooo much) to make another, rather than directing money into new and exciting projects...but hold on, nobody wants new when the economy sucks, they want safe, they want predictable. Face it, Freddy fans, you're being fucking appeased with this shit, not challenged or inspired. This is mass culture bullshit at its worst, it's just fulfilment...aagghh fuck I hate this sort of film. Thank you.

So how come doing THE SAME THING in this decade is so awful? Although I will admit that I wish they'd just put a number after that title instead of saying it was a reboot. Who cares about this anyway? Friday 13th is the one horror series that actually NEEDS reimaging. they should have done that after part three.

You know what? If they'd stick a story in this though that could span more than one film, and make it about more than kids being killed in the forrest, that would rock.

    by soup74

if you LOVED friday the 13th, then you had your fun in the 80's and 90's. even though it's rated R this movie is aimed at 13-20 year olds. most of its target audience arent AICN regulars, and the only reason it's posted here is because a lot of us have a passing curiousity to see what direction they're going with it. not enough to actually see the movie though.. because, once again, its not meant for us. I'm not sure what the budget is, but im sure it will make about $30 millon in B.O. and another 10-20 million (or more) on DVD. you can argue that they shouldnt call it friday the 13th, but come on, those movies we're never 'art' and this is just another (smart) way to make a few bucks off the franchise. It really should be below most of radars.

    by royston lodge

Sure. Plenty of silent movies were remade once sync sound was invented. I mean really, The Wizard of Oz, Dracula, etc etc are all remakes. I'd say that The Omega Man is superior to The Last Man on Earth. And what about Alfred Hitchcock's remake of The Man Who Knew Too Much, originally directed by, uh, Alfred Hitchock? Plus there's the many movie versions of Shakespeare's plays. I'd say the various versions of Hamlet all count as remakes.

Aha! But as my original question said, I'm not talking movies that return to the same source material, Last man on Earth, Omega Man, Oz, Dracula, they're all based on books, and many of the "remakes" returned to the original text and deviated in their own, independent ways. I'm talking about straight up movies remade again. The Hitchcock one is a great example. I'm thinking more along the lines of Abre los Ojos/Vanilla Sky or The Bad News Bears. When has it worked? And that's not a rhetorical question. I'm curious as to what remakes work.

Is so, unfortunately, right. I've felt all along like this remake isn't for me. I don't automatically hate remakes either. But this just feels.... like it's for high school kids. My girlfriend, who's a few years younger than me, thought that clip looked decent, to which I replied, "yeah, but it didn't look anything like Friday the 13th." This isn't for followers of the original films. It's for kids who've heard of the originals from their older siblings, and the only good that can come from it is that maybe those kids will be driven to seek out the originals. The producer's promise of graphic violence helps, but I know said violence will be incomprehensible because they'll start shaking the fucking camera everywhere whenever something icky happens, ala SAW. Their promise of tits doesn't hurt, though. But I highly doubt it will be anything remotely similar to the GLORIOUS tits and bush scene from part 2. That is how you shoot a nudie scene for a slasher movie. Full on, no body double, not some lame side character. Why is it that the only nudity in modern films only comes from secondary characters? Does this annoy anybody else? Sorry. I'm rambling again. Just really, really love Jason flicks. That is all.

    by jmac4ever

Remaking Halloween was a terrible idea because the original was fantastic in its own right. Remaking F13 is a different story. The problem with the F13 series is that it took an idea that had a lot of potential and never did anything flashy or coherent with it. The original F13 is not what one would call a masterpiece in any sense of the word. It seems like they are simply doing what fans of the series have been wishing they'd do for a while: take the main character seriously. The closest they came in the previous franchise was the Duke character from JGTH. But that was also the movie that turned Jason into a snake. Some movies are too good to be remade. Some aren't. F13 is one of the few cases where a remake might actually be warranted.

    Remakes

    by lost jarv

The Ring is NOT a good remake. It's a festering turd of a film. The Departed is not a good remake either. What makes a remake good (rather than a different interpretation of the same source material- Scarface is a remake, the Thing and The Fly are different interpretations) is respect for the original, understanding of what made the original good (and I mean of what made it actually good, not what some focus group following hack thought made it good), and a dash of imagination. Good remakes add to the original without spoiling it, can stand next to the original without embarrassment, actually resemble the original and, above all else, respect what they are following. Their aren't actually that many examples, but off the top of my head- Scarface, The Thomas Crown Affair, Oceans 11 (even though I hate it), Manchurian Candidate leap to mind, but Horror remakes? possibly The Hills Have Eyes or Amityville. Beyond that? none, It also helps if the original was a shit film. Someone above raised the good point that TCM and This would be fine if they were just sequels, this is true. When you piss all over a beloved film and obviously make a sequel, but to cash in call it a remake and just name it the same as the original, then you have a turd. See Halloween for example.

You guys just don't get it...

    by josh0rama

I read all of this bullshit pussy whining on this fucking site from you people and it's getting old. It's like none of you are really film fans, you just come one here to join the bitch brigade. Someone on here actually said they'd rather watch the original? Every single Friday The 13th movie is a bad film in so many ways. Don't get me wrong. I love them all. Friday The 13th is not a classic film because it's a masterpiece. It's a classic film because it gave birth to a monster. A monster that is now and forever will be a part of our collective conscience.Everyone knows who Jason is. Even if you've never seen a Friday The 13th movie. Just like everyone knows who Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf-Man and the Mummy are. Michael, Jason, Freddy, Pinhead, Chucky, Leatherface. These are our MONSTERS. And they will be here as long as storytelling and films exist. They will be here long after we're gone. While it's true that studios are cashing in on the Re-telling of these classic tales and some can probably be rightfully accused of having a solely monetary motive as opposed to deep creative endeavor, there is one important reason that this is a profitable thing to do that many people seem to be overlooking and that's that WE WANT TO PAY for this stuff!! WE CHOSE TO. And it's because these Heroes and Villains are part of us. We are witnessing the natural evolution of popular modern mythology and it's amazing. What if nobody ever made a vampire film since Nosferatu or Dracula? What? No "Lost Boys" or "From Dusk Till Dawn" or "Fracis Ford Coppola's Dracula"? Should The Wolf-Man's creativity and originality have been considered so sacred that we never got to see "An American Werewolf In London" or mother fuckin' "Dog Soilder's"??!!! That's absurd!!! Plus it's Friday The Fucking 13th!! How could it get any worse than the original. It's gonna be cool. I just wish Kevin Bacon we're in it!!!! Oh and quit you're bitching about Rob Zombie's "Halloween" too. He told it his way and it was a good movie that you can tell was given a lot of thought and hard work. You asshole would've complained no matter what.

...you may shout loudly but your words are useless. So you think this is popular modern mythology evolving? That's pure horseshit. This is mythology devolving as Friday 13th is, above all, an American phenomenon. Nobody I work with knows who Jason Vorhees is - the only reason he resonates vaguely anymore is because of the opening scene in the first 'Scream' film, but that's now seen as old and tired. The studios put these films out as an echo of one moment in the past, and each time the echoes are getting quieter and quieter. Modern monsters? Again, you cite Frankenstein and make the classic fallacy. Most people think that Frankenstein is the creature, whereas Shelley only ever refers to the monster as 'creature', 'devil', 'daemon' and any other quasi-religious Satanic moniker. Frankenstein is Victor and (though he is a 'monster') modern mythology has tossed him to one side and if that's what your modern mythology does then it can stick its head up its arse and fuck off while it's doing it. This is filmmaking as business, not filmmaking as art, and that is plain wrong. This has no imagination, no originality and diverts studio money from creativity.

wellsaid. I agree with you 100%, where as Lost Jarv lost me when he said The Departed wasn't a good remake! Granted, i have not seen the original, but damn son. The Departed kicked booty. As for the remake of Friday the 13th. Everybody here seems to be judging it from 30 seconds worth of screen time. Give it a rest. Wait until it is released, in your local cinematech and you've seen the sucker with your own two bo peeps. if then, you scream GARBAGE!!! Then so be it, at least then you'll have reason. I doubt it'll be to everyones tastes. But the franchise has it's fans, who are loyal. So, give the sucker a chance. Maybe Jason will surprise you.

the tagline, and figured as much, but I didn't read any of the comments of anyone because I was so pissed. This movie (the original part 2 that is) is near and dear to me as it was filmed in the town I grew up. Funny how the girls never went skinny dipping when I was at the beach.

The Departed is not a good remake and barely even qualifies as a good film. You said yourself that you hadn't seen the original. Therefore you can't judge. If you think it's a good film, fine. I disagree. But it isn't a good remake. Josh. You're either 12 or a plant. This is the typical photosynthesised cry of the studio whore "give it a chance, pay to see it......." You are right though, Jason is the phenomenon and as I said, I wouldn't give a shit if it was just another sequel. But it isn't. It's a marketing whore, focus group cash in. I like 1, 2, 3 and X(although I will admit they're flawed), By the way Flags, everyone I know knows who Jason is. Halloween was painfully shit by the way.

Select group of pompous friends? I never referred to them as 'friends', so read a little more closely. I said people I work with and as an educator I work with a lot of young people and none of them...and I mean none...had heard of Jason Vorhees when I asked throughout the day. I asked well over 200 young people, male & female, so I think that's pretty fucking representative. Friday 13th resonates as a date due to low-level superstition, but the films raise not one moment of recognition because of their lack of integrity, more than anything else. And you dislike clarification? Fair enough. Ignorance is bliss and you must be one happy guy.

    The problem with remakes...

    by i_am_not_the_droid_you_are_looking_for

Is that they always remake films that worked in the first place. That’s why nearly all remakes cannot live up to the original. Why don't they remake films that had a good idea/story, but didn't work or could be better? There's plenty of those. Good examples are 3:10 to Yuma, The Fly and True Lies. All great remakes which re-interpreted or expanded upon the source material. As was proven, a remake such as Psycho is pointless. A remake of a foreign language film I can understand, but don’t agree with, unless it’s for those same reasons. One of my favourite films is a French film called La Apartment. They remade that as Wicker Park, which I haven’t seen, and don’t plan on seeing. I also saw Tell No One, which is a French film based on an American book. That was really good, and there is no need for an English language remake, but I’m waiting for that announcement any day. I liked The Departed and The Hills have Eyes, but I haven’t seen the originals (I plan on watching Infernal Affairs asap), so I can only say they are good films. But the reason remakes of 50's-80's horror films are getting made is because they are cheap to make, they make ok money upon release then make big bucks on dvd. They will continue to be made as long as they make money. Over and Out.

I assure you, some yanks do not "whoop and holler" at everything. Those are just the dumber, gayer, and typically younger members of our population. Sadly, kids and young people have been hyper-socialized by american media about what to like, how to like it, and how to behave in response to it.

    by jackrabbitslim

Fine film - but perfect it sure as fuck ain't. Watch the fat bastard who plays the Jack Nicholson role - screaming and over-emoting - particularly in the eating in the interrogation room scene. And, oh look, its yet another Hong Kong movie with the "look - its TRAGIC - let me hammer it home with agonized looks and long, mopey stares ... TRAGIC" theme of "I'm cop - you're criminal - we live by codes of honor - we respect each other - but fate forces me to kill you." That was the - what - 45th Hker that had that trite element. And please - that ending flashback "Who admires Cadet Whateverhisnamewas?" "I do" Cheeeese. Ripe, smelly, over-orchestrated, soft-fuzzy-lens cheeeese.

you lost me at Rob Zombie's Halloween was good. For that, I should just say "fuck you!" and move on. But, sadly, you do have a point (until the Halloween thing.) Yes, posters do like bitching about everything (that's part of the fun) but sometimes they make valid points. Of course there will be remakes. But, they won't all be good. Rob Zombie's "reimagining" was a pile of shit and somewhere deep down even he knows it. That didn't mean it had to be bad. I think the real problem is that these movies aren't "ours" anymore. For everyone who spent all of summer camp afraid they were gonna be killed at night while trying to sneak to the girls' cabin, the franchise has simply moved on. We can still kinda relate to the kids in the originals. We can't relate to the text-messaging, red bull-drinking, white suburbanite teen spouting rap slang in the new ones. That's my half-baked theory, anyway.

I just seem to recall reading Mr. Profit's comments on other movies, defending them against all criticism. Plus, um, how exactly did parts 2 3 and 4 all take place within the same week? That's a joke, right?

This movie does seem to be more like part 2 than part 1, if that was mommy's head in the clip. Nispel did the Chainsaw remake, right? If so, bad news, because that one sucked.

The lightning was part 6, and I would say that was the single worst movie in the series, although Manhattan was also quite dreadful. 1, 2, 4 are actually scary, 7 and Hell are fun. 5 is bad in a good way. X is almost bad in a good way, but ultimately is just bad.

Not As Bad As I Thought

    by smartass8

Even though I don't understand the need for a remake when the "old school continuity" Jason Vs Freddy movie was a success not that long ago, the new clip wasn't that bad. At least Friday The 13th, while I enjoy the series, is not a classic like TCM, Halloween, or The Day The Earth Stood Still. There's also no way it can be worse than Zombie's Halloween. All the good buzz he made with The Devil's Rejects, he completely lost with the unnecessary Halloween remake(learning the origin of villains causes them to lose their mystique; just ask George Lucas). Zombie killed that franchise more than Part 6 or Busta's kung-fu.

    by jedirob

Dude. You need to re-appropriate your energy.
"Everyone" does know who Jason is. Even if someone didn't know "Jason Voorhes" proper, that idea or image of the hockey mask wearing killer is part of the lexicon. Just looking around at Halloween I still see tons of Jason costumes.
Bottom line as always is you don't have to see it. But this movie is not for us anyway. The original series was not for 'us' either. You think serious film fans were lining up for any of the Friday the 13th films? It's for kids and it's for fun.

Incorrect. Yes Jason pops of the water, but the girl survives. Remember, not only does she ask about the boy, but in Part 2, which she is in for about 2 second is where grown up Jason sticks his mommy's head in her fridge for shock value, then kills her.

need "reimagining" the only people saying this have got to be young enough that Friday movies didn't become part of your childhood. Nothing better than sneaking into the newest Friday the 13th movie back in the 80's. Who cares if they aren't Citizen Kane? They were always fun ( well with the exception of part5) Part 6 is my fave with the iconic shot of Jason on the overturned camper ( with fire curling up ) Great kills , Horschack! I loved Jason X as it was just as fun as one could want ! Gimmer 90 minutes of wacky Jason laden mayhem and don't try to turn it into some crystal clear tons of green lighting Bay wankfest. I want grain, boobs , blood and cornball awesomeness!

    by cmsof

Parts 2, 3, and 4 do indeed take place in the same week. 2 ends with Potato Sack Jason crawling off. 3 opens with Jason with Jason paying a visit to the couple who raise rabbits or whatever. On the tv in the background is the news report of the killings that took place in Part 2. Part 3 ends with Jason taking an axe to the head and apparently dying. Part 4 opens with the ambulance carting Jason off from the farmhouse from Part 3.

Now, there may be time gaps in there, so it's impossible to say if it's literally the same week where all three movies take place. Who really knows how much time passed between Jason escaping from the morgue and his first teenager kill in Part 4? But it's roughly the same week. It's not like years have gone by.

I have no problem with the remake. I LOVE the original 8 movies, but come on. They're crap. The characters and stories are just there to showcase the different methods Jason comes up with to dispatch teenagers. As long as the kills are good and inventive in the remake or whatever, I think this will sit comfortably on the shelf with the original 8.

If you're expecting the next Citizen Kane, you're probably going to be disappointed.
