SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES Gets Full-Season Pick-Up!! What Does This Mean For Joss Whedon’s DOLLHOUSE??
I am – Hercules!!
Despite diminished ratings, Fox has decided to give “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” an additional nine episodes, expanding its second season to 22.
The move is particularly curious because “Terminator” is not on the mid-season slate Fox announced in May.
One wonders what Fox intends to drop to make room. Might the netlet be ready to throw the intended-for-Friday sitcom “Til Death” into the scrap heap alongside “Do Not Disturb”?
Worse yet, is Fox considering moving Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse” to its "Firefly"-mauling Friday Death Slot so “Terminator” can retain its Monday berth??

He seems doomed to repeat Firefly Friday.
-
Fuck this crying shopping pet Terminator bullshit.
-
Finally a show I like takes the good bounce.
-
Why does Joss Whedon keep doing business with them!?!? Go to HBO or Showtime, dingleberry.
-
Anything and anyone connected with Joss Whedon gets dicked around by FOX.
-
Why don't you just say:
Stupid Fox Gives Stupid Show Full Order!!
But Greatest Show Ever Since Buffy or Angel or Firefly Still Has Uncertain Fate!!
I am Hercules the Objective!! -
Great show which has gotten even better in the last couple eps. Can't wait to see how this season pans out.
-
I am so happy to see this show given a full season!
-
...then Joss Whedon gets what he deserves. In fact, anyone who does a show for FOX is a moron.Don't give me this crap about how he needs to work. When you agree to do a show for the same network that screwed you and your fans over before, don't cry when they do it again.
-
absolutley love this show, its replaced heroes as my third favorite monday night show..24 and pb place 1 and 2with terminator interest to only rise as we get closder to t4 fox is wise to cash in on the hype, i predict ratings will soar as t4 gets closer
-
tee hee
-
I've been watching every episode, and even picked up the Blu-ray set just because it might have made a difference.... and I'm weeping right now because it looks like it just might've helped. There IS justice... for once one of my favorite shows lasted longer than a season.... :::tears of joy:::

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they paired the two.
by flickchick85
But probably on a different night, since, ya know, 24. They'll probably just adjust their schedule to pair something else w/ 24 on Mondays, and make Dollhouse/Terminator night a different night of the week. No reason to worry about the dreaded Friday slot yet, Herc! Stop trying to freak us out!
-
What does this mean for 24 and Prison Break? Three Monday night shows and only two hours doesn't add up.
-
Wasn't that also supposed to be mid-season? I suppose Dollhouse could go with that, too. They can move one of their other, failing shows to Friday. I mean, aren't most of the scripted dramas "failing" right now?
-
This show is awesome
-
he would never work with Fox again because of what they did to Firefly?
-
Every week, T:SCC is this: OMG Terminator chasing us!11! Must run!! *bunch of splosions and action* "Boy, that was close, we kicked its ass!!" REPEAT EPISODE. Clone Wars: "Oh shit! (ergh, I mean, "OH SHOOT") Battle Driods!! [insert dumbass comment by Battle Driod : "Sorry Sir, It's my programming"] Jedi and Clones run around blasting driods left and right. "Oh man, that was close! But we're the Republic, so we win!" REPEAT EPISODE.
-
The producers of the new Terminator trilogy have a vested interest in Sarah Connor staying on the air. you cannot have a high profile terminator project canceled right before a new movie opens. The network probably has to absorb its losses for the sake of the movie trilogy.
-
doesn't broadcast at the 10 pm timelsot?i mean they seem to always have these scheduling conflicts (either PB or SCC is gonna have to go on hiatus when 24 comes back). They've been a network for over 20 years and have at times been a more popular network then the big threeso why not broadcast nationwide at 10 even if its just for a few nights a weekanybody have an answer cause thats always bugged me, seems like a simple way to solve schedule conflicts
-
...and I even get annoyed how Herc relates everything to Buffy/Angel/Firefly/Dollhouse. I think T:TSCC getting picked up is good news, no matter what I means for Dollhouse. I feel like the show has a lot of potential. With that said I'm still beyond excited about Dollhouse and hope it lasts many quality, amazing, exciting seasons.
-
Glad FOX is giving this series more of a chance.
-
hit and miss, but mostly hits. I really like this show despite crappy Dodge Ram advertising.
-
about T:TSCC
Hope Dollhouse comes thru also. -
They've already burned like 7 episodes this season...not a good sign(actually, I guess that would be a GOOD sign, it really sucks). My wife likes the show, I like looking at Joely FIsher's emormous rack.
-
My money is that even though ratings are down, and will probably continue to fall, Terminator was granted the gift of 9 extra episodes to finish out its story as best it can. No way it's getting a third season. No way.
-
Good question. Sorry I don't know the answer, but I'm curious about that too.
-
the future episode was great in season 1. But now, everytime we got a future war sequence, it's just two guys talking in a bunker. pathetic.
-
The Cameron-centric episode "(some-chick) from (somewhere)" was the best episode this season. I do miss the narration from the 1st season. Still nothing beats the season-ender from last season where John gets to see his father for the 1st time, though he's 6 years old!!! Powerful episode.
-
wonder if anything from this series will tie-in with the movie for next year?
-
Does he call himself a reporter? If he had any clue he would know that FOX is putting the Whedon show on WEDNESDAY following Bones. That has been the plan for awhile now. FOX feels that Bones has some Whedon fans because of a certain cast member on Bones.
The best place for Whedon's show is to follow Bones, which more than survived the move to Wednesday. It will give Whedon a strong leadin. The only thing better is following HOUSE. Why Herc even thought it would be on Monday nights is beyond me. -
Good show though.
-
Out of curiousity, if they put Dollhouse on Wednesdays at 9 p.m., to where will Fox move the American Idol results show?
-
LOL!
-
So this is really good news. Herc loves anything by Joss Wheedon.
-
...why are you up this late?
-
Every once in a while something goes right. Glad to hear it.
-
Non-Idol: Wednesdays: Bones/Dollhouse
Idol Wed: House, American Idol, Til Death
Idol Fri: Bones, Dollhouse.
-
but this is getting unhealthy.
-
There movies are a joke, they can't handle a franchise if there life depended on it and they cancel every new show if the first episode isnt the highest rated show ever. The Married with Children Days are long gone, its too bad.

-
The best place for Dollhouse is not to follow Bones, but to replace it.
I'd rather watch Heroes than Bones - and at the moment that's saying something. -
fox screws over shows. FUCK YOU FOX!. god that bones is a load of shite. boreneaz you went from angel to fucking bones? Jeez. Poor old joss. you're a like a fucking beaten wife. leave already, why'd you keep coming back for more?
-
Simply put, money. I believe that the advertising dollars that a station gets once the network is off the air goes directly to the station owners, not the network. That's also why some stations preempt a network late-night show in favor of a syndicated show. They don't give a shit if Kimmel goes on at 1:30 instead of midnight because they're raking in the dough from the ads for the larger midnight audience and leaving the smaller $ for the network. Of course, a network owned and operated station is going to give the network's programming priority, but there are still lots of stations owned by indies or other media groups. The almighty $ rules.
-
As I said in the last TalkBack, it is independently owned and produced by the producers of the movies, and heavily backed financially by Warner Bros.. It's being produced not just for the American market, but to be aired throughout the world. So the show costs pretty much nothing to FOX to air on its network. Worst case scenario, if FOX elects to cancel it, the series would probably wind up on another network... perhaps Time Warner's TNT. The show simply exists for the international market, to keep the Terminator brand in the public eye as the next movies come out, and to show DVDs. It's being produced, lastly, for the American TV market. This series' production and distribution is in a pretty unique situation, compared with other scripted series on the networks.
-
You seem like you're "in the know". First Pushing Daisies, now Fox scheduling.....
I hate to bring out the old line of "Post proof or fuck off" but...
Post proof or fuck off.
(Just be clear, "proof" is not knowing someone on set.)
-
and people ~~~squirm~~~ about it. I hope he does it forever.
-
TSCC is one of the most heavily time shifted shows on tv right now..as is Fringe.
-
I can't believe it, I've been expecting it to be cancelled due to low ratings so it's awesome that Fox are giving it a full season. It's still one of my favourite things on at the moment.
I hope it doesn't spell death for Dollhouse, but Fox is probably going to cancel that no matter when it's on. -
After Firefly I just don't think I could stand a hurtin' like that again.
-
THERE IS A GOD.
-
Either that or the mid-season replacements suck large.
-
Whedon, Whedon, Whedon. The world does not revolve around Whedon, Herc. I can't think of a better Monday night combo than Terminator and 24. Seriously, kick ass or suck ass? I'll take the one-two punch of Sarah and Jack. Pussy.
-
the last episode of T:TSCC was the best of the season so far. Although they still displayed this horrible new trend of having half the cast doing something really lame (babysitting and writing book reports?!? Bitches - please...)whilst the others deal with rampaging killer robots, the main thread was pretty cool and the action/effects work was some of the best I've seen in this show. And as an added bonus - for once JC wasnt a moaning little douche!
-
You should be very proud of yourself that you know the Fox fall schedule. Give yourself a nice pat on the back...bitch
-
First the Matthew Weiner return talkback and now this? Dollhouse is FOX's second show to feature "limited commercial interruption", along with Fringe. It will be shown the respect it deserves. Besides, FOX has to know now that Friday night on their netlet is death. Right? RIGHT??
-
Sure does.
-
Terminator has really been improving this season, the last 2 eps were great. but yeah, dollhouse needs protecting...im really looking forward to it.
-
All it needs is "The View" harpies talking about their feelings and their idiot political opinions. How can a show with so many explosions and homicidal robots from the future be so lame?
-
I enjoy the show, it's not the greatest thing out there, but it is entertaining and way beter than T3. I'mm just glad Fox has grown up and stopped cancelling things instantly after they air
Now, if we can just get ABC to keep Pushing Daisies alive... -
Shirley he has made enough monety to do a Lucas and start his own company to make his own shows?, Imagine a privately produced Buffy or Angel film, then a second Firefly series, he is a mad man for not doing this earlier as he has the evidence that the studios do not get him or his TV, so why does he still play?
-

DOLLHOUSE Should Be A Cable Show, HBO, Showtime or Somethin'
by laserpants
Then he could do what he wants. Hasn't FOX fucked him over enough?
-
Great News for a Great Show starring a Great Cast! More Summer Glau is a GOOD THING! But, to play it safe, they should write a series finale for the last episode of season 2, since most likely it won't be back for a season 3. And this way the show could get a proper ending. But, of course they can leave a bit of an opening....just in case. :)
-
Please get rid of that whiney pregnant lady in the show! She adds nothing and takes away everything good from every episode she's in. SHOW MORE SUMMER GLAU AS THE CUTE TERMINATOR WEARING MINI-SKIRTS! I like the show, but this season isn't as strong as the first.
-
The reason Fox doesn't broadcast at the 10 p.m. timeslot is because at 10 p.m. they air their local news broadcast.
-
The clone wars t.v. show seems more "Star Wars" than the live-action prequels! The characters actually have personality. And the look of the show is better and more old school. BTW...SUMMER GLAU IS CUTE! Especially when she's all semi-goth up. :)
-
T:TSCC and Dollhouse back to back
-
I'd rather watch Terminator. But then, I think everything Joss Whedon does is fanboy-blowing, unoriginal shit.
-
If it had been on HBO or Showtime it might have stood a chance of not sucking. On network TV, though, it's a DOA. I can't believe anyone is still watching that piece of shit. It's just terrible.
-
2 of the last 4 Terminator SCC eps have been using the LOST flashback/forward plot device to bring some wieght and emontional attachment between us and the characters and it's been spot on. I like the direction they're going trying to stop skynet from helping itself set up, still not sold on Shirley Manson though. I liked it better when Skynet was setting things in motion, not having the T1000 leader pulling these strings. It's pretty damn good though.
-
clone wars is made for stupid hannah montanna kids.
-
Anyway, I'm glad the Terminator is still on because of Summer Glau.
-
. . .I don't think T:SCC has been doing well recently. Aside from the season 2 premiere, all the episodes have been rather shaky. And as powerful as the ending for the last episode was (with John realizing that by protecting someone meant sentencing him to death later on), the majority of that episode had far too many irrelevant tangents for it to be solid. C'mon, a book report? And in previous episodes, pregnant women? Ugh. That said though, T:SCC is still enjoyable. Most of the time. So wow, I guess FOX finally did something right.
-
Season one was great and it was getting shit on and season two fucking sucks and you people are praising it? What it is you like? Crying Terminator? Babysitting Terminator? Shopping Terminator? The show has totally gone off course.

Is Friday night really the horrible time slot it used to be?
by rev. slappy
Don't Tivo and DVR recordings get counted in the ratings now? If nobody is home watching TV on Friday night but they Tivo the show, doesn't it have the same effect on the ratings?
-
I still watch it, but really more out of curiosity over where it will go and hope that it will get better. It really exemplifies the idiot plot reliance lots of modern day shows have. I mean I've seen Sarah Connor nearly kill her son several times out of sheer stupidity, and she's supposed to be keeping him safe.
-
I'm surprised Fox is finally getting their heads out of their asses and not canceling shows left and right like they usually do. Love TSCC, glad it is getting a chance.
-

I really like this show, but they need to move the story forward
by abovo
I really like this show, but it seems to have stalled this season. Someone really needs to make sure that the story moves forward. And realistically, if you had a Terminator living with you, wouldn't you be a bit more curious about it than they depict John Conner being?
-
BTW, I love the music in the show!
-
posts in every Whedon related TB on how much he hates Whedon. Every single time. And has been doing it for years.
-
It would have totally sucked if they canceled Sarah Connor Chronicles. If it means bumping some Joss (is that a name?) Whedon show, then fuck 'em. The best thing that Firefly had going for it was Summer Glau, and look what show she's on.
-
awesome news.
-
I don't get why the outrageously pregnant blonde is getting so much screen time. What's her significance to the plot? I guess we'll eventually find out.
-
But instead of killing John it decides to do his laundry.
-
ROFL
-
F you to all the haters.
And there's not enough cleavage in the world to keep “Til Death” alive. -
why the outrageously pregnant blonde is getting so much screen time: because women who have large breasts to begins with have outrageously large breasts when their pregnant. Man, did you see Gillian Anderson on Letterman when she was six months along. MAMAcita!

we have no idea what a full season order for Terminator means for Dollhouse. I'm sure the two have completely independent fates. Why would you put that out there, unless it is just to make the Whedon-haters squirm. In that case, well done.
-
Fox know it which is why they are saving T:TSCC and shitcanning DH to Friday nights. As for those wondering why JW keeps going back to Fox well its the battered wife syndrome in play, that and they pay him lots of money so if a little thing like actually giving a shit about his shows ever came into play he would go elsewhere. Until then he will be back in a few years with some other POS show to have his fanboys creaming over but boring everyone else stupid. Lol at Herc
-
"Why Herc even thought [Dollhouse] would be on Monday nights is beyond me."
The Fox press release announcing Dollhouse's Monday slot:
aintitcool.com/node/36774
Where did you get your info about Fox broadcasting "Dollhouse" on "non-Idol" Wednesdays? -
i was just thinking about mondays at 10pm for dollhouse, right behind prison break...would be a great slot and a great lead in with prison break..im glad they gave terminator a full season...its a great show and the 2nd season is getin intersting...despite the ratings..
-
Monday: Dollhouse and 24
Tuesday: American Idol and Fringe
Wednesday: House, American Idol Results Show and 'Til Death
Thursday: Bones and Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Friday: Prison Break and Hell's Kitchen -
u exemplify the typical male TV watcher these days..."get rid of pregnant chick, more summer glau in mini skirts"...people like u are the reason steaming turds like CHUCK are still on TV....if the girl on chuck was fat or pregnant the show would have been cancelled by now... its really quite sad...every show has supporting characters that dont add to the show and who knows what part she may play in a future episode....as for joss whedon in general his shows are great...buffy, angel, firefly....who can say one was boring or unoriginal..and who knows if firefly would still be a cult hit if it would have remained on the air for 7 yrs or so..?
-
i cannot wait for the day i hear that AMERICAN IDOL is cancelled. i will throw a party the day that happens...hopefully be the death knell to most if not all reality shows, especially but not beginning with DANCING WITH THE(has been)STARS, SKATING WITH CELEBRITIES, YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, ETC, ETC, ETC
-
prison break is too good a show to dump on fridays, and terminator will never move to thursdays...24 always comes on in january during prison breaks winter hiatus...then is always back to finish out the season....24 will die soon, i hope
-
someone mentioned how he had said he'd never work with them again. well apparently all the people who were there back during Firefly are gone. so along with Eliza Dushku asking him, thats why he went back with them.
-
At least that's what the Cameron-related plotlines feel like. "That's tight."
-
I figured it was Bear McCreary of BSG fame (also an incredibly-scored show!) because of certain "tells". Anyone know of a soundtrack release? Or anywhere I can get the score *wink*wink*
-
I've been pleasantly surprised that Terminator hasn't sucked more than it has. So I'm glad they're sticking with it a little longer.
I can't imagine them shitcanning Dollhouse to Fridays just because of this. That doesn't make sense. I can't wait till that one starts, even if I'm a little iffy about the casting. -
I meant since Terminator was greenlit for a complete season. What made you think they would still do Monday nights?
It has always been the plan for Bones to move to Fridays. Since FOX is leaning to having Dollhouse follow Bones, that was a logical conclusion. Bones did better than expected moving to Wednesdays. They expect the move to Fridays will be just as strong.
I wouldn't worry about Dollhouse. If they do make Dollhouse "limited commercial breaks," it will have a strong C+3 rating and keep it on the air. -
It's incredibly silly at times but ultimately always lots of fun. Just like Heroes.Monday nights wouldn't be as much fun without Heroes, The Sarah Connor Chronicles and the vastly underrated How I Met Your Mother.
-
Where did you get your info about Fox broadcasting "Dollhouse" on "non-Idol Wednesdays"?
-
The show can be uneven, to say the least, on ocassion but overall its entertaining. Good job Fox on the pick up. Lena Headly is one smoking hot MILF. That goes a long way for me liking the show.
-
Is the only thing keeping this show alive. I bet FOX is counting on the movie coing out to generate interest in the show.
-
please don't dump another awesome show on Friday, Fox. Or if you do, understand that nothing you put there is going to get good ratings and just leave it on until another night opens up.
-
Oct 18, 2008 4:54:32 PM CDT
why?? this season has been lamer than last season
by the power of greyskull
I am just about ready to give up on this season and I'm not at all surprised the ratings are down.
Last season kept me JUST interested enough to stay tuned to see if it would get any better - which it did show promise of being capable of doing...
Unfortunately, it has not. -
I never called the whiney pregnant lady fat. I said she was WHINEY! SHE SO FAR BRINGS NOTHING TO THE SHOW EXCEPT BRINGING IT TO A HALT! I don't care if she's pregnant, but I don't know her character's name, therefore she's most recognizable for being pregnant. But, she still brings NOTHING to the show so far. As for being pregnant, good for her, but PUT SOME FREAKING CLOTHES ON! NO ONE WANTS TO SEE HER BELLY EXPOSED. Most pregnant ladies don't go around exposing their bellies to teenage boys. NOW THAT'S JUST SICK. And there's nothing wrong with LIKING GIRLS IN MINI SKIRTS! More guys need to be interested in girls. Everyone's gone gay nowadays! Russia is going to have a field day invading America, which is full of girly men! Have a nice day. :)
-
I can't believe it's getting beat by Knight Rider.
-
To whoever said it was a turd or some stupid shit. A cyborg shopping might be natural in Chuck, doesn't quite work in Terminator. FUCK THIS SEASON! Can they go back on strike and pull together a good season again? Thanks.
-
I hope it doesn't doom Dollhouse.
-
I like SCC, so this is good news. Hopefully, Dollhouse is not impacted.
(And I like Chuck too, so Monday is already a busy, but good, tv night) -
lol dont get me wrong , i love a girl in a mini skirt and pregnant bellies are nasty, the fake ones are more nasty...but maybe its not u but too many people these days only watch shows for hot girls or explosions or space battles and the moment those leave the screen they go brain dead..call the episode filler or say it made no sense, meanwhile they werent paying attention because nothing eye catching was goin on on the screen...o well, im just glad it got the full season pickup
-
Fox. They are also considering a different Thursday lineup. Right now they're planning to tie Bones and Dollhouse together. However some people behind Dollhouse are upset, and Terminator may move behind Bones on Fridays, and 24/Dollhouse may in fact stay in play as originally planned.
Dollhouse should be ok. FOX is upset about some things, but still very excited about the show. -
And I agree with everything you just said in your latest post. I was one of those guys who couldn't even stand to watch an episode of Baywatch. Hot girls and explosions doesn't make a program good, only a great story and characters do. But, it doesn't hurt if one of those great characters happens to be a cute girl wearing a mini-skirt. :)

INSTEAD OF DOLLHOUSE, THEY SHOULD MAKE "THE DOLL FACTORY"
by earthquake westcoast
Instead of Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse", they should make a series based on Knott's Scary Farm's maze "THE DOLL FACTORY". Seeing those creepy doll girls would be cool! If you're in Southern California right now, make sure you head over to Knott's Scary Farm and check it out! There's only two weeks before it's gone.
-
Thank god they gave it the full season. Sometimes it feels like every other show is canned before it's time and we're left with hardly any long-established shows, leaving network TV as a whole feeling very hollow. Fucking STICK with Sarah Connor Chronicles and Fringe!! Couldn't give a fuck about Dollhouse. Whedon should have just fucked Fox and looked elsewhere for his future projects.
-
Some think Fox execs are as evil as Nazis with monocles.
Screwing Dollhouse over for The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
But chillax my people you've got the wrong idea.
The bastards who killed Firefly have been flushed like diarrhea.
I know it will take time for the cancellation wounds to heal.
But Peter Ligouri and Kevin Reilly are in charge of the wheel.
They shepherded The Office, The Shield and Friday Night Lights.
Bringing priceless joy to our television viewing nights.
Stop the pointless bickering and silly geek brawl.
Their support of genre shows is good news for all. -
It's a great show... it fits perfectly with the first two movies and has taken the bad taste out of my mouth I had after T3. If this show had a respectable budget it would probably rock in a big way.
I don't know why it doesn't get more coverage here... and things like "Mad Men" get weekly raves. You want to talk about "chick shows"?
I will take hottie cyborgs any day over some frakkin' soap opera about "advertising executives". It makes me sick to my stomach that shit won Emmy's - I can't believe Herc watches that fetid putrid pile of maggot infested feces over SCC, it's almost reason to revoke both his man card and his geek card at the same time.
I mean, give those guys Cowboy hat's and it's Dallas Pt. II and that's "Cool News" in what possible way?
It's real basic... killer cyborg robots from the future = cool (even on a 1 dolla budget) handsome advertising executives banging secretaries - not cool even on a million dollar budget. -
Before I ban you, I will ask one more time:
Kindly link to the news story or press release suggesting that Fox will broadcast "Dollhouse" on "non-Idol Wednesdays."
-
You're kidding! Why? Because I have better connections than you do? Wow that seems really severe for a site about spy information.
Why don't you do your job and find out what I've heard. It's not like people AREN'T talking about it at FOX. Heck do you need Scott's email over there? I know you get copies of pilots and everything else. You really can't find the same information I can? Maybe I should become an official spy! -
Eli Stone just had more shows ordered. CBS is about to make a decision on one of their bubble shows too (The Ex-List).
-
The so-called insider took the name of lotusblade.
But he could not keep up the masquerade.
When questioned on the facts he could only evade.
He's not long for this world, I'm afraid.
He should get a life and then get laid. -
so your inside source at Fox, a fellow named Scott, told you Fox will broadcast "Dollhouse" on "non-Idol Wednesdays"?
you've quite the bullshit detector there, lotusblade.
buh-bye, lotusblade. -
It's a quality, entertaining show.
-
love these guys that have "inside" information but dont back it up..lol.... i dont see why the monday fox lineup cant be ...terminator, prison break, then dollhouse... i dont see them moving prison break or T:tscc to a different day of the week...guess time will tell.
-
i totally concur...its an awesome show.
-
This season has been a fucking disaster and now everyone decides to jump on the bandwagon. Where the fuck were you people during season one? Did you just decide to show up for the crying cyborg?
-
i was here for season one, just dont get a talkback that often for this show.
-
I R CONFUSED. Though, there was a lot of negative comments for episodes of season two. I STILL CONFUSED.
-
After what they did to FIREFLY you'd think he'd refuse. Then again maybe they were the only ones interested, which doesn't seem like it should be the case.
-
Summer Glau and Lena Headey, sorry, I just can't say no to that.
But I haven't watched live tv in five years. All I do is dvd/netflix. So does anyone care about what I think? I know a lot of people who only watch dvd's. So where does that figure in the 'what shows live and which die' scenario? Huh, Monkey-boy? Answer that for me, please. -

Blatant guess: Fox is moving "Idol" to Thursdays to claim the cr
by tallboy66
They'd win it, too. Fox did balsy shit like that when they moved Simpsons against Cosby and Simpsons won back in the early 90s. Now they're back and they want that coveted Thursday crown. And, lets face facts here, Fox basically becomes the Idol networks during sweeps, airing it almost 3 times a week - Tues - Wed - Thurs, instead of the usual 2. It's easy to slot in a second hour. Anyway, I think Herc has the scheduling backwards - I still say Dollhouse will be on Mondays, and Terminator will get the Friday death slot. but still, WHO-RAH! Full Terminator! 22 episodes! Hot damn, I can't believe it, I had the funeral set up and evrything. But, yeah, here's off the top of my head a random guess at Fox midseason Sundays - Animation Domination Monday - 24/Dollhouse Tuesday - Idol/House Wednesday (pure guess) Prison Break / Bones Thursday - Idol / Whatever 2 crappy sitcoms they're pimping Friday - Terminator / whatever Saturday - Cops / America's most Wanted. That sound like a good whack at the bat to anyone?
-

but not surprising you bring up Whedon's balls. Stalker.
-
i certainly don't want to see Dollhouse thrown under a bus in order to save it in the ratings.

The following only includes the shows I've watched:HEROES (SEASON 3) - It's back, it's stupider than ever but my God is this show enjoyable. Faster pacing than last season, some crazy but still entertaining plot twists and some nice action sequences allow me to award the show.... 7/10LIFE (SEAON 2) - They appear to have toned down our slightly loony protagonist this season but they're starting to build up an interesting story around the people who put him away. As always, Lewis makes this show worth watching and the individual cases are still nicely written and so I give the show... 8/10.FRINGE (SEASON 1) - A very polished production which looks nice even though only one of the episodes so far ("The Arrival") has gripped me. It could develop into something special but I'm not sure yet. John Noble is the best thing in the show but I'm growing a bit tired of all the plots relating back to his character's past. We'll see.... 6/10.TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES (SEASON 2) - I resisted much of season one but gave it a second chance when I read a few people on AICN stating that the show got a lot better once John's uncle made his appearance. And they were right! However, this season hasn't been quite as good in my eyes. I'm very pleased with the addition of Garret Dillahunt who is one of my favourite actors but not so much with Shirley Manson whose character I'm starting to hate for all the wrong reasons. A T-1001 that cracks puns after killing people? No thanks. However, I'm still watching T:TSCC because, much like Heroes, I enjoy it despite its flaws (Summer Glau and Lena Headley also help) and so I award it... 7/10LIFE ON MARS (SEASON 1) - I watched the pilot and thought it was pretty good (not surprising when it was pretty much a straight adaption of the UK pilot) but miss John Simm in the lead role. Yeah, I miss John Simm A LOT; Jason O'Mara doesn't feel right - in fact, he reminds me of a younger, less talented Mel Gibson. I also found Harvey Keitel to be strangely lacking which is something I thought I'd never write. I made it half way through the second episode and became quite bored. I may come back to it. I may not. I award it.... 4/10
-
then it might hit its stride. Sarah and Cameron are interesting characters, but John just comes off like a whiny bitch. There have been a couple of really good episodes this season but overall it's a mixed bag. I'm not sure if I would be watching if it wasn't tied into the Terminator films.

OFF TOPIC: Am I the only person on the planet diggin' that show? The slapstick comedy with the Battle Droids is a bit much at times but it's a fun 25 minutes. No?
-
Yeah, Clone Wars has been a really fun series so far. Way better than the live-action prequels! This week's past episode with Padme was AWESOME! The Clone Wars got the highest ratings in cartoon network's history! All the kids are going crazy for it, just like how their parents went crazy for the original ones back in the day.

Whether lotusblade is making shit up, barking up the wrong tree or has actually shown you up none of those things are grounds to ban him for.

TSCC NEEDS MORE JOHN AND CAMERON STORYLINES THIS SEASON
by earthquake westcoast
They need to focus more on the character relationship of john and his cute teenage protector! All the other characters should just be supporting the main three (john, cameron, sarah), but they're focusing too much on the others. I ALSO WANT TO SEE THE PROM EPISODE THEY'VE BEEN HINTING AT LAST SEASON. That could be a funny seeing Cameron go to the prom, especially if that poor bastard that's suppose to take her tries anything with her. OH, and don't show anymore scenes in the future unless you're going to go all out and show something cool. No more people just talking in a bunker or in the dark. It just cheapens all the previous future scenes. AND SHOW MORE CAMERON HEAVY EPISODES!
-
I agree with Kurg1. People shouldn't have to give you their sources. What if "what's their names" had to give their source on Deepthroat? Congradulations Herc on what you've just become. :)
-
Agreed--we need a talkback on this one! It's been a fun show for the first several episodes. swactionnews.com has a great podcast and forum about the show.
-
I watched every episode of season 1 of Sarah Connor and sang its praises early on. Been a fan since the beginning.
-
Busy's character's name is Kacy Corbin, but I had a thought. I wonder if she might actually be the mother of Kyle and Derek Reese? Either that or maybe she's the mother of one of the other members of The Resistance? That could be her connection, and the reason why she's so prominent this season.
-
They're living tissue over metal endoskellon, it'll all work down there. (as long as Cameron doesn't ride on top). Also, when you hit the end of the series and Cameron will probably die ala T2 at the end to protect John and Sarah, then John grows up to be the leader of the Resistance and he kills Terminators over and over to regain the lost innocence that he gave up to the Machines. That's some deep psychological shit there, yo.
-
I only saw the first 2 episodes and wasn't what I would call impressed.Did it just suddenly start kicking ass? Good characters? Does it tread on continuity? Enlighten me?

Joss Whedon oozes cheese over everything he touches

Hey EvilWizardGlick: Does "Life" seem a bit off this season?
by pdorwick
I'm a huge fan but they sure seemed to have massively lightened the tone this year. Agree? Disagree?
-
They already showed little Kyle and Derek playing baseball. Prego woman with not enough clothes is not the mom.
-
hould get a Singapore caning

*should

I liked the psychological approach to the characters. People ask why the show is good? Strong themes run through each episode, which touch on more than just robots/people kicking the crap out of each other...this is about people struggling through broken lives, war, and displacement. It's about people coming to grips with their place in the world and the meaning of existence. This is when the show succeeds, when it mixes the character work with the action. Yeah, a terminator got twisted into a pretzel tonight (with the heel of a high-heel show stuck in her eye), but you also had some really emotional moments with the counselor.
-
What's up with Manson Bot's daughter? Have we seen her before?
-
HTF did Cameron haul the broken female terminator out of the building without drawing attention? And for that matter.. why did they both stop fighting in the elevator when the family boarded? I've never seen a (bad) terminator on a kill mission use discretion before. I like the show... but this really bothered me.
-
I think it was one of those moments played for humor instead of consistency...but, on the other hand, it seems the new terminators are trying to be more discrete in their approach.
-
and it continues to loop. There is no such thing as continuity when the premise of a story hinges on the concept of time travel. When you understand this it becomes much easier to enjoy two spacey looking fembots kicking the crap out of eachother. I can't get enough of it.
-
Agreed...I'm not worried about continuity in this show. I've accepted it as its own entity, and have enjoyed the quality of it. The acting and scripts have been great, IMO. I wasn't a die hard fan of the films (saw them, liked them) so the transition to the show was easy for me.
-
how come there is never any threads posted on this show? It's pretty popular with people in here. I am kina worried about the continuity though because it is going to be running the same time as Salvation. Is it going to have anything to do with the Christian Bale series or no? I mean obviously T3 is completely null now......and why does the T-1001 need a psychotherapist to raise her own maker? Seems kina strange to me that if the machines are linked in the future they would understand on another better. And whats up with The Turk already understanding humor??? None of the Terminators seem to have grasped it.
-
Not only did this episode of T:SCC kick ass but we got to see the actress from BSG:Razor again! How cool is that. I am thinking she wants to whack John.
As far as Cameron getting the thing off the elevator, well it doesn't look like the office was too heavily trafficked. Also, she might have just drug it down the hall and pitched out out the window into the back alley. Loved the fight though, loved the character work. As far as Manson I am not totally sure which faction of machines she is with, it's obvious that Skynet has broken up into two factions now and one of them doesn't use the blunt approach. Seems like they are trying to understand, imitate, and infiltrate the humans. Even in the future they seem more interested in capture, interrogation, and experimentation than they do with extinction. Yet another facet of the show that I like. -
I never thought it would be as intelligent as it's become. They're focusing on character development, which is rare in a show like this these days. TSCC is now beating out Chuck for my real-time viewing attention.
As for the elevator scene, I was wondering why they stopped too, but they had the same programming and were probably fine waiting for a few seconds (and could rely on the other to do so) if it would avoid having to deal with a bunch of cops that would alert the target/object of protection and make it harder for either to find him.
As for Shirley Manson. I can't believe I was once attracted to her. What the hell is up with her face? I have a thing for redheads and I'm usually only attracted to women who have some kind of imperfection or strangeness to their look, but she's just creepy looking. Something about the eyes/eyebrows I guess. Now Summer, that's an odd face that totally does it for me. -
Of all the bullshit that gets posted and assholes that post it in these talkbacks, out of all the flaming and trolling that goes on and some dude who didn't cite a source on a rumor and spy based infomation site gets banned. An all new low point for AICN. Racism, homophobia, political hate speech... that's all well and good in the talk backs but not publicly citing your rumor source, you better watch out, ridiculous. What happened, this site used to be so much fun to come to but some of the out of control egos make it a little less fun everyday.
-
...given all the other crap that gets posted. His source was some dude, not everything has a link. I guess Herc was having a bad day. The only thing that should get you banned are the nonsensical spam like postings that have nothing to do with anything being discussed. You know, the people who post a single line of nothing every other post. Oh and perhaps the first posters (but I usually just start 10 or so posts into the thread to avoid those tards). But Jesus Cocksucking Christ, I fucking love that I don't have to watch my mutherfucking language here. For instance, I can freely call Bonnie Hammer a jizz-soaked twat. That's a good thing. The rest of the internet has been getting a bit too prissy for my tastes lately.
