South Park hasn't been able to do much for me. I lost interest in their faux-important political bullshit after two things, I saw Manbearpig, and I started watchiing the Boondocks. You want intelligent and meaningful social commentary, you watch that. If you want mindless entertainment, still watch that; the Boondocks is fucking hilarious.

South Park needs to do an episode on masturbation.

    by jimmay

Think about it, the boys are approaching that magical age when you learn of the hours of cost-free amusement a growing boy can have all by himself. It's a subject loaded with comic possibilities, still somewhat unbroached (remember the buzz over the Seinfeld masturbation episode), and would bring the series back to its character based strengths, rather than the tiresome preachiness of the tenth and eleventh seasons. I liked that they had the boys age in the "fourth grade" episodes, but that all kind of went nowhere after that. Its an animated show, so they can get away with not having them age, of course, but early pubescence is a fine time for coarse comedy, which is what most of us first fell in love with on the show to begin with. 'Bebes boobs destroy society is still one of my favorite episodes, it works without being overly shock-comedic, politically preachy, or patronizing. This is what the show needs to return to, and so far I'd say they've been moving in that direction this season.

The auto-eroticism in Red Rocket was incidental though.

    by jimmay

It touched on bestiality, and showed the gang's naivete on the subject. There's far more humor to be had in addressing their shame and confusion over indulging in the practice themselves. The subject was briefly approached in the episode "Preschool" as well, with the fifth or sixth graders (can't remember exactly which) trading their protection to the boys for a picture-they think-of one of the boy's mothers' boobs to jack over. Still, it was an incidental plot point, and I think South Park could tackle the subject in a grand fashion of the writers set their minds to it.

They've left Bush largely untouched (though they have pointed out his abject stupidity in "Ladder to heaven") because everyone else has mocked him accordingly. They try to pick on "sacred cows", which they believe Al Gore is (which I personally disagree with, but yes, they trend very right wing, and thus they dislike Gore a good deal). I wouldn't call them pussies, but I wouldn't say mocking Hillary, hardly that unheard of, makes them brave either. They do sway rightward, but it's rarely of a 'Faux News' caliber. That is why I stopped watching after the eight season and just started watching again; The global warming episodes got pretty tiresome, plus the Family Guy bashing is pathetic. Lately, thankfully, they've dropped both obsessions.

    by david cloverfield

They created a whole series based on what a goddamn moron he is. In South Park they try to avoid what others are doing. They didn't want to do a Michael Jackson episode either, but finally gave in (man was it funny.) I think South Park is too good to after such an obvious target. Everybody knows Bush - they don't have to point out the problems with him.

I think this comes up in every single South Park talkback. The consensus always seems to be that Trey Parker is more or less a libertarian and that Matt Stone said in an interview once he is a registered Republican. Search it on google, and that's what you'll come up with. How reliable it is, I'm not sure; but it seems to be the accepted story.

and it was either going to involve gore or bush, whoever won officeit was never meant to be a direct satire of geroge bush, infact the show only really played on him being stupid not his policies, the episodes were more about how sitcoms were so lame in the 70's and 80'sit could have been called "thats my gore" if bush hadn't rigged the election and won

I expected more from the Chinese plot

by shut the fuck up donny

but it seemed almost like empty filler between rape scenes--kinda like those fried wonton noodles at Chinese restaurants!

On the other hand, I still felt the episode was pretty good as the whole rape plot by itself was pretty damn amusing.

Also, has anybody noticed that Trey seems to be doing more smaller ensemble pieces now? Instead of just focusing on Cartman or just putting all four guys into one situation, he seems to be experimenting with different pairings and groupings. I think it has potential of creating some new dynamics in the show to allow him to keep some of the humor fresh. He just needs to be careful not to rely too much on just a Butters/Cartman variation.

It looks to me South Park is still in a little bit of the slump that plagued last season. They constantly beat jokes to death that aren't that funny to begin with. I expected a lot more than a lame Indiana Jones getting raped episode. They should be above getting involved in something so petty and stupid. It was really pretty groan inducing, especially considering the movie came out months ago. Was all they could come up with?

    by david lazarus long

Maybe the most disturbing animated sex scenes I've ever scene, but the fact that it was George Lucas RAPING INDIANA JONES, was phenomenal. As for SP in general, I'm way super left and I've loved every season, if not every single episode, since it began. Really, they rip on 'the government' in general quite often, and the fact that they don't directly call out Bush is inconsequential. "How can Bono do so many great things and still seem like such a piece of shit?" And Imaginationland was one of the most direct attacks against the Bush/Fox News fear campaign to date. So who was talking about them being "too far-right?" I think you might have your head so far up your ass you don't know what direction is up.

God bless all you people that can still get something from it, but this show got tired about 4 years ago, then it got old, then it dragged itself into the woods on its last legs to die, then it died and decomposed into a flat, hairy-rug-looking collection of loose bones, now it is simply a fragment of broken, barely recognizable mandible covered by leaves. And STILL they keep producing it. I was down with Team America, I even sinfully wasted a couple hours of my life watching Baseketball, but this show is so fucking over they should be filled with self loathing every time they collect a paycheck for producing it.

Just because it was so damn true. Anyone here who says that Matt and Trey are making fun of fanboys is a freaking moron. Matt and Trey ARE fanboys just like all of us- and they are FUCKING pissed at Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. I pray that George and Steven see this and understand literally what people think about them. And for all those people saying that "Always Sunny" is more funny than South Park- You are god damn right it is- Sunny is hands down the funniest TV show that has EVER existed- and it hasn't even yet got it's traction yet. Charlie and Rob are so damn talented- I know that they haven't even begun to be funny yet. We only get glimpses now and then on just how funny they will be probably next season. Glenn and Kaitlin are funny too, and even DeVito has his moments from time to time- that show is GOLD- but South Park is still funny anyways- and when they do episodes like this Indiana one- they hit the nail on the head. Thank god for Matt and Trey. Now watch as Guillermo Del Toro rape the hell out of Bilbo Baggins- trust me it is going to happen. Del Toro was quoted in 2006 as saying: "I don't like little guys and dragons, hairy feet, hobbits – I've never been into that ... I hate all that stuff." Let the Guillermo raping begin. We got three good Lord of the Rings Movies- now we are about to get a shitty one- It's Phantom Menace ALL OVER AGAIN.

critics since they fall under that category. They don't just not like the Star Wars prequels they despise the special editions as well. They were complaining about a new Indy movie before it came out. This is like a sequel to free hat as the boys find out that Lucas and Spielberg are still at it. The Indy viewers do seem over sensitive and exaggerated but If they were making fun I mean "real fun" of them they would be more blatant then that and Lucas and Speilberg wouldn't of went to jail. There would be a "I learned something to day" where they admit to overreacting. I think this show makes people see things that they want to see that aren't there sometimes. I also think when they make a point people don't agree with they don't like to see that either. And no I've never seen the new Indy movie. I wonder if Parker and Stone will get another sarcastic letter from Spielberg like they did when they made Free Hat.

Indy 4 was a pleasant epilogue to its series. It wasn't a great film but it was certainly a very enjoyable one. Phantom Menace, on the other hand, is a true abomination which signaled the beginning of the creative end for one of cinema's true visionaries.Let's keep things in perspective people. Do you remember that scene with...

    by topfivevideo

Indiana in the refrigerator?.. It didn't make any sense Stan..

That was by far the best scene of the episode.. Jimmy's delivery was just priceless.

As far as people bashing the episode ar concerned. You have to realize that this is South Park. Trey and Matt dont care whether people love or hate what they do.. I think they established with "Trapped in the Closet" ( I probably get the name wrong) episode that they are going to basically do what they want no matter what. I for one enjoy every freakin episode.

    The funniest scene...

    by _maltheus_

...was when Lucas' face went flush as he blew his load. I thought it was a decent start to the season. Better than a lot of the episodes we've gotten lately. Granted, I was a little drunk. If I had watched it in a different mood, I might now be trashing it. Good timing though, as I was debating whether or not to finally watch Crystal Skull now that it's out on Blu-Ray. I saw all that I needed to see last night. Rape is only funny in cartoons so I won't be renting it.

    The funniest missed scene...

    by criderman

Did anyone catch the moment Butters pushed his fake Chinese glasses back on his nose! The friends I was with missed it and when they ran it back they laughed their butts off!

They totally nailed my feelings of Indy 4

Wish they did the same for X-Men 3.

    Just saw Indy 4

    by mattyboy122

I made good on my oath not to see it in theatres. I netflixed it on Blu-Ray and, my God, it was worse than I imagined. How the fuck did Spielberg make a boring Indiana Jones movie? I had the same feeling when I saw The Lost World. An unnecessary, entirely unexciting sequel. Everything was off about the film. It didn't look like an Indiana Jones picture (the image was far too crisp and clean, the lights are constantly blown out, etc.), the music was forgettable, and the action sequences were dull. Compare the fight Indy has with the Russian (with the ants coming after that) to the fight Indy has with the German at the airfield in Raiders. There's no contest. You never feel any sense of danger for Indy in KOTCS. Maybe it's because he survived a nuclear blast in the first 15 mins., or maybe it's the constant (and obvious) use of CGI, but I was never on the edge of my seat. Spielberg phoned it in.
