I say 4 episodes. Takers?
-
How I Met Your Mother, so Harris can reprise his role as Dr Horrible?
-
Seriously? That's what you think he's best known for?
-
how many episodes?
-
...witty, entertaining and a little bit off centre. It also stars Fillion. It will be canceled after 4 episodes.
-
biatch. I didnt watch the video, so I'm assuming that's what he's saying to her.
-
But everything else about this looks "meh." Too bad.
-
And I love her hodgepodge of accents. That's all I got.
-
This wont make it 6 episodes, looks pretty bland
-
...until I saw this trailer. :( I hope it's just a bad trailer for a good show.

I have seen the pilot for the upcoming Nathan Fillion vehicle, Castle. In the show Fillion plays a wisecracking mystery writer who is drawn into a murder investigation because a series of deaths mimic death scenes from his best-selling books (Murder She Wrote, anyone?). Original, it ain’t. However, the pilot’s less than unique premise is overshadowed by the performances. Nathan Fillion and his chemistry with the female police detective, played by Stana Katic, is better than average. There is some pretty snappy dialog and a couple of the supporting players add some humor as well (Jon Huertas as another detective and Susan Sullivan as Castle's mother). We have all seen shows like this before, but Fillion is the spice in the mix that makes this one stand out. I will actually program this one into the DVR. I pray that they keep the tension between Fillion and Katic going, as this is one of the powerful drivers of the show. Over all I would describe this show as breezy. It doesn’t have much substance, but in the heat of a new TV season it will provide a pleasant relief from most of the drivel the networks will be trying to pour down our throats.

except with a non-freakish looking female lead and a male lead who knows the difference between scenery and a tuna fish sandwich.
-
Nathan Fillion from Desperate Housewives? Who do you think reads this site??? What's next, Mark Hamill from Eight is Enough?
-
...so it won't last.
-
I had no idea.
-
...the writer?
-
looks better than a lot of the other shows currently on air.... nice mix of humor and drama ala Bones....
-
He's getting to be more and more like the Ted McGinley of the new millenium.
-
Looks good. Nathan is our best kept secret... Spread the word!!!
-
I better watch this sucker before it's cancelled by the 4th episode. Nathan Fillion=Ted McGinley

Bummer for you Nate.
-
What is this? Californication (the writer characte) meets any crime show on the air right now. The concept looks stale, stupid, but it might work. Fillion deserves a better show. Ah, wait, he had one. And no, it wasn't Desperate Housewives...
-
but damnit don't know if the world can take another cop show.
There's 3 kinds of people in the TV world. Cops, lawyers and doctors and I'm sick of all 3 -
I'm definitely going to watch this one, plus I adore Nathan Fillion. It's about time he got a decent show that STAYS ON THE AIR (not that I'm mentioning Firefly but I guess I am). Let's hope this one is good and it stays.
-
And his name is FRANK.
And further more, Fillion should be Captain America instead of silly ass Crime Drama's on ABC that are DESTINED to be cancelled. The guy can't catch a break since Serenity. -
It will run forever!
-
just gimme back MacGruder & Loud...
really! -
... whether it will last is another question. Still I'll give it a shot, even if it's just another procedural because Fillion is always fun to watch.
-
I'm more interested in Life On Mars, though.
-
except he needs to be more badass, like Mal. I hope this has a good long run, unless of course it keep him from being involved in the Firefly relaunch. Oh PLEASE Oh PLEASE!
-
because no one had said it yet.
-
I am sorry I am not ready to see Mal, River, or Jane out with any other people just yet. My heart is too broken from our recent breakup, brief get together, and then re-breakup. I can't watch Castle, Terminator, or Chuck. Heck I would probably tear up at a Barney Miller rerun. We were so good together, and you broke my heart. Will I ever love again?
Coyrhino -
I'd rather see a remake of "Tenspeed and Brownshoe" than this drivel.
-
Herc doesn't like desperate housewives. Also, that trailer looks... pretty awful. Which is sad, because I want to support Fillion, he's one of my favorite actors. But I don't think I'll be watching this. If Dollhouse doesn't get canned, and after this inevitably does, hopefully Whedon can find a place for him there.
-
Wake me when they make Dr. Horrible II.
-
Nice animation. Just don't know what movie it's from.
-
The corner animation is from Prince of Darkness (John Carpenter), I believe.
-
the scene in the preview with the non-cop getting in the way and only surviving by luck and timing, seems a bit more realistic than 'let's give the forensic anthropologist a gun and let her run after and subdue criminals and interrogate them along with the FBI agent.' Just sayin' And Fillion rocks!

well, it is ABC, not EffinFOX, so more than three episodes will
by chromedome
probably....Go Nathan!
-
Hopefully it has legs, Fillion deserves a lead.
-
This isn't a normal murder-mystery-romance blah blah cliche show. It's really good. Has the potential to be Moonlighting-like if ABC is smart enough to take it that route.
-
“Air Force One,” “End of Days” and “Hollow Man,” - could be worse, but definitely not a selling point.
-
rofl.
-
the show would be called Beckett & Castle...seems like a limited premise, how many murders can be comitted based on the guy's books? Or does this copycat case just provide a launching point once it's realized that the author can help solve crimes? Either way, doesn't seem like a great premise for a TV show, but I could see it as a movie.

Jesus, that two minute clip basically gave away the whole plot f
by skidmarkedundies
Why bother watching it now I know how it ends??!! Craptastic job by ABC right there.
-
Damn your restrictive nature!!!
-
He'd be a great, older-model Hal Jordan, but the studio probably wants an young one for the origin tale, rather than going all flashbacky, though w/ a little make-up they could make ol' Nathan young enough.
-
I think it has potential. Slater is convincing enough. Reminds me of Chuck and Dollhouse combined.
-
Most of us haven't. It doesn't premiere 'til Monday.
-
sorry, grabbed it on Amazons free area and thought it aired on the 5th.
-
Way to go Filly!
-
looks decent, give it a chance before u say its dead.
-
I loved that show! How did that get cancelled when crap like Everybody loves Raymond and According to Jim last forever? Hell that Charlie Sheen Half Men show is still going on....
-
I can apperciate the nuances of his performance in firefly and I...OH FUCK THAT Nathan Fillion has junk in his trunk!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
http://www.fanpop.com/spots/nathan-fillion/images/260836 -
thats a tall order to fill, there. Moonlighting was a sketch show that grounded each random sketch around the concept of a detective agency. They broke character more times than the guy on Bones only they did it on purpose.
Also, I think more people will know Nat Fil as the cop from LOST than as 'some guy on that chick show on Monday Night that my wife watches in the bedroom because I took over the living room to watch the football game.'
