For Immediate Release HBO RENEWS EMMY(r)-WINNING HIT COMEDY SERIES ENTOURAGE FOR ITS SIXTH SEASON, TO DEBUT IN 2009 LOS ANGELES, Oct. 6, 2008 - HBO has renewed the hit comedy series ENTOURAGE for a sixth season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, Programming Group and West Coast Operations. Created by Doug Ellin, the show currently debuts new episodes on Sunday nights (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT); production on the sixth season will begin in early 2009, with debut slated for the summer. "ENTOURAGE is that rare phenomenon in TV: a smart, sharp comedy series that continues to evolve," noted Lombardo. "Doug Ellin and his remarkable team consistently deliver a show that's must-see viewing." "We're thrilled to be back for another season," said Ellin. "HBO has been amazing in allowing the show to grow and mature. I never imagined when we started that we would make it to six seasons." "We just spoke to the real Johnny Drama, and he is overjoyed by this pick-up," added executive producers Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson. "Most of all, we love being part of the HBO family." ENTOURAGE, which will have debuted 66 episodes at the end of its fifth season, stars Adrian Grenier as Vince, a once-hot young actor looking for a way to rejuvenate his career; Kevin Connolly as Eric, Vince's manager, who tries to help him make the right choices while struggling with his expanding management company; Kevin Dillon as Vince's half-brother Drama, now relishing a taste of success from his new TV series; Jerry Ferrara as Turtle, the least savvy of the group; three-time Emmy(r) winner Jeremy Piven as Ari, Vince's aggressive, high-powered agent, who is having a few career conflicts of his own; Perrey Reeves as the long-suffering Mrs. Ari; and Rex Lee as Ari's assistant Lloyd. Launching Sept. 7, the fifth season of ENTOURAGE continues to attract praise, with Newsday calling the show "still irresistible," while the Chicago Sun-Times termed it "compelling television." The Salt Lake Tribune hailed the series as "blisteringly funny" and "satirically spot-on," and the Arizona Democrat-Gazette declared, "The show is better than ever." Jeremy Piven recently received an Emmy(r) for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, his third win in a row in the category.
