HBO RENEWS EMMY(r)-WINNING HIT COMEDY SERIES ENTOURAGE FOR ITS SIXTH SEASON, TO DEBUT IN 2009
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 6, 2008 - HBO has renewed the hit comedy series ENTOURAGE for a sixth season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, Programming Group and West Coast Operations. Created by Doug Ellin, the show currently debuts new episodes on Sunday nights (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT); production on the sixth season will begin in early 2009, with debut slated for the summer.
"ENTOURAGE is that rare phenomenon in TV: a smart, sharp comedy series that continues to evolve," noted Lombardo. "Doug Ellin and his remarkable team consistently deliver a show that's must-see viewing." "We're thrilled to be back for another season," said Ellin. "HBO has been amazing in allowing the show to grow and mature. I never imagined when we started that we would make it to six seasons." "We just spoke to the real Johnny Drama, and he is overjoyed by this pick-up," added executive producers Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson. "Most of all, we love being part of the HBO family."
ENTOURAGE, which will have debuted 66 episodes at the end of its fifth season, stars Adrian Grenier as Vince, a once-hot young actor looking for a way to rejuvenate his career; Kevin Connolly as Eric, Vince's manager, who tries to help him make the right choices while struggling with his expanding management company; Kevin Dillon as Vince's half-brother Drama, now relishing a taste of success from his new TV series; Jerry Ferrara as Turtle, the least savvy of the group; three-time Emmy(r) winner Jeremy Piven as Ari, Vince's aggressive, high-powered agent, who is having a few career conflicts of his own; Perrey Reeves as the long-suffering Mrs. Ari; and Rex Lee as Ari's assistant Lloyd. Launching Sept. 7, the fifth season of ENTOURAGE continues to attract praise, with Newsday calling the show "still irresistible," while the Chicago Sun-Times termed it "compelling television." The Salt Lake Tribune hailed the series as "blisteringly funny" and "satirically spot-on," and the Arizona Democrat-Gazette declared, "The show is better than ever."
Jeremy Piven recently received an Emmy(r) for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, his third win in a row in the category. Season five credits: ENTOURAGE was created by Doug Ellin; executive producers, Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Doug Ellin, Rob Weiss and Denis Biggs; co-executive producer, Mark Mylod; producers, Wayne Carmona, Lori Jo Nemhauser and Ally Musika.

C'mon, it kicked ass tonight.
-
Discuss.
-
Herc and I haven't been on speaking terms since I called him an idiot prior to the Presidential debate...
-
Weird that it's been popular, because she's a reliable barometer for procedural popularity.
-
...a straight humorless PSYCH?
-
In the episode I saw parts of, they did try some humor
-
........ the best new show of the season!
-
....the crappiest new show of the season!
-
FUCKING GREAT!
-
Worth watching for Perlman and Segal alone.
-
This season has been the best it's been in years, especially compared to last season. They finally got back around to stories dealing with movies and not Ari's fucking wife or Vince's girl troubles.
-
And they've finally figured out what to do with Frank, and how to write him properly.
-
is very well done...it is easily one of the best shows on television....too bad more people aren't watching it...
-
I hope this season the guys really fall flat on their asses. They've had it pretty easy so far and Vince really needs a strong does of humility. They're hinting at it this season but in the past they always end up sitting pretty. I hope they keep the focus on the business and not Ari's family or E's girl problems. And is it me or is Drama really starting to get annoying. That washed up hack really needs to come down to earth.
-
Other than her, it's pretty awful. That shootout with the Mayans a few weeks back where no one got killed/serious shot? Laughably bad. Like worse than Walker Texas Ranger bad. It's a shame this shit gets a second season, but Over There and THIEF got canned.
-
and granted, Shermdog, that shoot out was pretty laughable, but it's been one of only a few bad spots in the show so far. I'll watch the rest of this season before I give it a second though.
-
..made me want to do Shrooms again!! Fuck.
-
It's snappy and the characters are solid, like Life.
-
"Say hi to your mom for me, ok."
-
I mean, it's entertaining...but come on. It's not exactly The Office or Arrested Development.
-
Entourage is the very embodiment of production fetishism. we need to feel the interactivity with the entertaining glitz we crave is why a show like Entourage can build an entire season around the making of a movie and never ever show it. None of us wanted to see Medellin and we didn't have to. We watch it because participatory media culture is in our blood and we can't shake it like we can the clap. Speaking of... it's time to join Boost mobile so I can get a hold of Mickey Avalon...peace!
-
its growing on me. although i almost threw up watching them torch that poor bastards tatt.................................................................. family guy S7 E2 - anyone see this piece of shit??? i usually love the show..but my god.. 6 mins of peter dancing to "the birds the word".. just poor television.
-
Missed the first month and don't know if I want to pick up another show. Biker gangs don't really pique my interest. Wonder where Nick and Tammi are out in theoretical Thief-land. We know Gabo ended up on that POS Knight Rider remake. Sunny seems to have rebounded after trying to do too much last season.
-
Entourage was never a top-tier show for me, just good fun. Last season was lame, but this season is (so far) up there with the first two. Given all the crap Hollywood has been feeding us this season, Entourage has become the only show I'm looking forward to anymore. Even Dexter has become somewhat retarded.
-
Drama: "Whoa, I thought I pulled my cock off!"
-
it was amazing that the network showed it
-
FX has decided to renew SOA but they cancel The Riches... that is one of the stupidest decisions by a network so far this year... Does any network value quality anymore?
-
the hot nurse/mad men chick being linked to the new dea agent is a bit ridiculous. Come on he's the guy she has the restraining order against?
-
More please!
-
The hot "Doctor"/Mad Men chick is the reason the DEA guy is there in the first place. He was trying to track her down and found out she had been involved with Jax and Sam Crow in the past.
-
reviewing chick flick shows, get off your ass, and start reviewing SAMCRO. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but seriously is there any reason you haven't been reviewing Sons of Anarchy, when you've been looking at all the estrogen shows?
-
They didn't renew it, but they never cancelled it either. Best show ever on FX.
-
I actually like it. Sue me. Amanda Righetti is insanely hot.
-
The last episode was the first time I have laughed out loud at the show in a season and a half. that cock pulling off line almost made me piss myself.
-
very underrated
-
Too bad if they did as it is an infinitely superior show to "Sons Of Anarchy."
