Live in Chicago? Want to see Mark Wahlberg and Ludacris in person? A MAX PAYNE event is happening today!!!

Published at:  Oct 06, 2008 4:25:28 PM CDT

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here. This is kind of last minute, I know, but I figured some of you Windy City dwellers might want to make the journey to see Wahlberg and Ludacris in person. My guess is that the crowds won't be completely out of control, and you might even score an autograph or two and a free t-shirt.

One of the more interesting panels I attended at Comic-Con was for MAX PAYNE. Wahlberg, Ludacris, and Mila Kunis were all on hand and seemed to be having a lot of fun talking up the movie. I don't know that much about it or the source material video game. The extended trailer they showed was pretty slick looking, but beyond that I know little about this project. Anyway, here are the details on today's event...

Local urban artists Zore, Rawfa, and Rogue will unveil their original street artwork inspired by the film MAX PAYNE with two of the film’s stars, Mark Wahlberg and Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges. Using the film’s style and distinct neo-noir feel, three different artists created unique, urban works located throughout the city. The premiere unveiling of this limited time street artwork exhibit will take place at 2215 W. LAWRENCE Ave., between Ridgeway and Lawndale. at 5:45pm CST.

The first 50 people on hand get free MAX PAYNE t-shirts. Yay, incentive!

You'd basically have to leave right now to make this, so good luck. And let me know how the event goes for you.

    Officially rated PG-13

    by skimn

Leave it to Hollywood to take a game that was rated M for violence and language, and soften it for the teens. More Fox shenanigans.

    Max Payne Rating

    by skimn

Jack, I am confused. I swear I saw trailers on tv over the weekend that rated it PG13. Now I've read that the ratings board gave it an R, but Moore fought to get a PG13. And suceeded? Moore complained that the board sucked Warner's cock (his statement) to give TDK a PG13. I guess he believed it warranted an R...Guess we'll wait till next week to find out.

Yeah me too i've heard it was PG-13, but just saw the article today saying it was R for "Rated for violence, drug content, some sexuality and brief strong language." Who knows. Moore has said though that there will be a "rougher" version of the film on dvd anyway. So i'm assuming SOMETHING was cut either way.

I've read that the DVD will be what Moore calls the "Gamer Experience" version. Whether that contains 30% more slow motion, I don't know...

Watch it with your pals, and when it's over talk about which one of you guys is like E, and which one's Turtle, and so on. "That is so us if we ever make it big!". Although they do seem to be finally going somewhere with some of the characters this season. I'm always Loyd, by the way.

    by addictedtoboobs

It's PG-13. I saw a poster yesterday at my movie theater, that said it was PG-13 (for violence including intense shooting sequences, drug content, some sexuality and brief strong language) (I got the exact reasons from Comingsoon.net)

The trailor looks like a cool video game.

    by uberman

It even shows this character that looks like Mark Walberg. But the commercials never show that its XBOX or PLAYSTATION. What platform is this videogame on? And why the big release this week...I mean, common....its just your average video game.

    Max Payne in 2008. Really?

    by orionsangels

Is that how long it takes a studio to make a video game film? I can't wait for all the current gen games to be made into movies and released in 15 years. When nobody cares anymore.
