Hillary, Condoleezza And Hockey-Mom Sarah In Scorchin' Lesbian Three-Way?? Details Emerge On NAILIN’ PAYLIN!!

I am – Hercules!!
Details have finally come to light with regard to Hustler Video’s wildly anticipated new political satire, “Nailin’ Paylin,” thanks to a new website called TMZ: 1) The feature depicts the Russians “knocking” on one of the vice-presidential candidates’ “back door”; 2) The candidate will engage in a three-way with the secretary of state and the junior U.S. senator from New York; and 3) In a flashback, the would-be veep is schooled in the “big bang” theory by her creationist college professor. No word yet on any involvement the U.S. House majority leader might take in the tale. Find all of TMZ’s story on the matter here.

... I'm amazed at how widespread the coverage for this juvenile stunt has been. Flynt has always been an opportunistic scumbag, and this seems like par for the course with him. I notice no one's rushing a similar take on Obama into production. Strikes me as misogyny as well as playing right into that liberal media idea that the press protests isn't true AT ALL.

This is no different than some right wing producer doing a Fried Chicken infomercial for Obama. It plays into the worst tendencies of the politics of division. <P>I personally think Sarah Palin's a scary, rotten addition to the national political scene, but it has exactly nothing to do with the fact that she's a woman. <P>This is stupid. And degrading.

I'm not scared of Larry Flynt. Mainly because I'm not a woman who he can tear down by producing stupid porno movies about me that are thinly veiled political attacks. If Larry Flynt really gave a shit about influencing the political process in this country, he'd add something of substance to the conversation and not just a shitty porn film that will put money in his pocket because it plays off the public image of a current media darling. <P>Lame. Lame. Lame.

Move or Remove This News Post

    by LaZ

Herc, I love you dearly, but stick to what you know (DVDs/TV). 1. TMZ may be a shitty site, but it isn't a new site by any means. 2. This isn't new news. Broke a day or two ago. 3. When was the last time you saw porn news covered here? 4. Even if you were going to post it, why would it go in the top stories section, bumping Mori's Watchmen article? Harry/Mori- Do the right thing and remove or move this post. Porn based on a popular person, event, or movie is nothing new and has never been news worthy on this site. I have been visiting daily for years to read the articles you guys post and this this kind of stuff should not be bumping out your articles.

Why don't you go back over to Coaxial and actually report on TV shows like you used to do? You've turned that section into something so ridiculously niche that even some of the lesser-watched but popular cable shows are now completely ignored. Dexter? It's Always Sunny? Curb? I don't get excited about SNL or Survivor penis or other reality-based crap. I want to know about original, innovative and COOL television. Check the title of the site, sir. That's your remit.

    I like porn

    by Napoleon Park

I was never a fan of his magazine but Flynt's done some cool stuff over the years, like the issue what the side by side comparison of a healthy lung and a smokers lung. Gross and unsexy, but very powerful.<p>Porn is a part of pop culture. When Sharon Mitchell (former porn star turned health worker) shut down half the industry over an Aids scare, that was cool news.<p>The media is obsessed with all things Palin because we're all so bored with every other aspect of the presidential race which seems to be in it's second or third year now.<p>To recap, Flynt, controversial and knows how to generate money and publicity. TMZ, a National Star level guilty pleasure for tabloid gossip addicts, maybe a half step above Perez Hilton. The adult film industry parodying, mocking or simply ripping off mainstream properties and attacking pro-censorship politicians and fundamentalist Christian televangelists, same old same old business as usual. Hot lesbian sex with well known celebrities - it's a beautiful thing and just what you've all been fantasizing and writing fan fiction about anyway. Hustler doing a spoof movie about a conservative politician who's getting heavy media coverage, yes it's cool, and yes it's news.<p>The title "Nailin' Palin," I'm still not in love with. I still think Veep Throat would have been a much better title.<p>Though if we're all very lucky and we pray hard and remember to vote, maybe she'll never actually be Veep.

    The hate is growing...

    by UltimaRex

I'm not surprised. After Rove this is penny ante stuff. I live in the UK and this election is going to affect my current job. In short if McCain wins that job will DISAPPEAR. Now, I hope to be gone by then but what about the other 5000+ guys I work with? What about the millions of jobseekers that will be swamped by the millions more that JUST GOT MADE REDUNDANT. And all of this is in the UK. God only knows what will happen in the US. More bailouts? Please. The only slight hope right now is that Obama can somehow fix it (and that IS slight). <p> As for the porn? Palin deserves it. Not because she's a woman but because she is incompetent. Incompetent "satire" for a incompetent "veep". Herc let the hate get hold of him. A McCain term will be a disaster and Herc has tapped into his need to survive. <p> I have seen it everywhere. Eight years of "dubya" got us a war no one wants, a recession that could become a depression and let's not forget a planet that is now TRYING TO KILL US. Don't believe me on that last one? Go down to New Orleans and ask around.

I'm also a total porn hound and adult video nut. I've been to the awards twice, and have met a couple of the girls, and have quite a bit of respect what they put themselves thru (for decent coin to boot). So I say this with no little background, but I really don't care about the political aspect of this, but the thought of having my personal spank gallery expanded past my imagination to Condi Rice, Sarah Palin, and Hillary Clinton is a wonks dream come true! (particularly each being hotter, and hornier versions of themselves,....sigh....the nature of porn). Call me misogynistic if you like, but I love this.

    Sad guys

    by Ashikaga

It doesn't matter if you love or hate Palin as Americans we should be embarrassed by how low the level of discourse has sunk. I read posts that don’t care what we say as long as we are bashing Palin. You liberals out there are supposed to support tolerance but all I hear from you is misogynistic comments. If I started making racial comments you would lose your minds. If you like Obama great, I happen to be disgusted by him but I would never be ok with someone who mocked based on race. Odd how the Dems claim Republicans are racist/anti-woman but when it comes down to it you libs (most of you) are the ones who will make the vitriolic attacks if someone dares disagree with your opinion. I guess freedom of expression only counts if the person talking agrees with you.

I'll give you the URL to a portion of the script. I don't think that this movie will have as much impact on the polls as you are assuming. If anything it will just be a coincidence that individual who decides to rub one out instead of going to vote is watching Nalin Paylin instead of Big Boobs 27. Come on, Larry Flynt may be a cold hearted opportunist, but do you really think this film will have an impact on the perception of Palin/The Election......

    by Couch Tripper

Misogynistic? Give me a goddamn break. The reason she is being "porn"d is because that is how she presents herself, not because she is a woman. That's why this porno was not made when just Hillary ran, or with just Condi. It's Palin that inspires the idea to do a porno because her only quality -- literally -- is the ability to flirt and draw attention away from her stunning lack of intellect by winking and hamming it up like a Skinemax actress. Palin is an airhead, an airhead who openly covers it up by flirting, that's why there's a porno about her.

R or D aside, I don't care if it's Palin or Hillary, this isn't news of any kind. The worst is it brings out partisan trolls like Couch Tripper that insinuate that it's a good thing. Those comments are not far removed from the guy that during any rape case brings up the "she was asking for it" defense. You have no class sir. Stick to commentating on comic book movies and anime. It's easier to hide your ignorance that way.

This is probably gonna make me late for work but I can't leave without handing you all your asses for sec. Now i am a rather tall guy but even I can't see over the monumental soapbox that Mori started here and everyone else has seemed to clamor to the top of. Are you people serious? This is a pop culture site for geeks to gripe about movies, comics, etc... We are some of the most vulgar motherfuckers on the net. How many references have been made to "spooge" alone talking about seeing a great trailer or clip from a new movie? We swear, we make sexual innuendos and we are all brash opinionated fucks. So get over yourselves and stop belly aching that the site is talking about a porno. There was no nudity and everything was described in innuendos. Palin is news these days. Parodies keep popping up online (Head of Skate), on t.v.(SNL) and yes now in porn. If you are trying to convince me that 98% of the people on this site don't watch, read or at least look at porn online well sir I am not going to buy that bridge from you no matter how cheap it is. I figured it was bound to happen sooner or later. Put some unattended, giggling, 20-something-year-old young guys in a room with a DVD player or computer and their preferred choice of entertainment, and we're going to see the results of it on this site. So I guess reviewing porn will be a new feature on AICN now? We all know Harry was verging closer to it every week with some of his picks of the week, but you Hercules?? But that's OK. 95 percent of your readership is probably thanking you for the heads up and can't wait for their parents to leave so they can watch it without getting busted. In my opinion AICN just lost all it's credibility as a serious film review site.

Yes, this is funny because the entire porno will be a metaphor for what Republicans have been doing to the world for years. Yes, this is news because it reveals just how broad and dynamic American culture is - such an enlightened society because it allows freedom of speech and freedom of splooge! God bless America for underlining the strong connection between fucking with peoples' lives and watching live people fuck. I don't come to this site for news - the BBC, CNN and Sky provide that sort of 'fix'. I come to AICN for just this sort of irreverent twaddle. You're a gossip site! A gossip site! The view must be great from the high moral ground, Mori, but the air sure is thin...get over yourself.

Ridiculing those in the "family values" camp of the "conservative" wing of either party via porn or violent video games is all 100% justifiable in my book. People who say "keep your laws off my guns and money!" while attempting to censor media and legislate the definition of marriage are hypocrites of the highest order. We can be all about freedom as long as there isn't a condom or men kissing, eh? And I'm a moral authority here cause I can see a baptist church and the State House from my porch.

Since then, our civil liberties have been reduced, and Flynt's just doing what he does best: being the dirty old man that he was born to be. Its working! He's sparking debate among the fanboys. Not about foreign policy or the budget, but FREE SPEECH. So much of which is being eroded, not only by policy, but by private parties that are controlling the airwaves and the printing presses. Nobody's gonna accuse the man of having TASTE, and yeah, while I think Palin's kinda hot for a hockey mom, doing a tasteless porn is just tasteless....without her getting boned by a black presidential candidate from the other party. LOLz. Lighten up, people, its just another lame porno flick for god's sake. Prolly won't be able to rub a batch of knuckle children out to it anyway.

    Well said, Kurt.

    by ZeroCorpse

I think SOME people have to be publicly vocal in their tirade against porn because their wives are reading what they write. <p> I don't see this film as anything different from "Edward Penishands" or "The Oval Office" or any number of other cash-ins on popular public figures or Hollywood films. My only complaint is that the woman they got to play Palin doesn't look like her, and has bolt-ons instead of nice, natural hockey mom tits. <p> Seriously, Kurt, I have to ask you: What is the fascination in the adult film industry with fake tits? Why is it that a gorgeous woman with average or small tits can come along, and everyone loves her, but then she ends up getting a terrible boob job and ruining her looks? <p> Look at someone like Alysin Chaynes (or however it's spelled this week). GREAT looking chick who could bank on her youthful looks, and then she gets hideous bolt-ons and ends up looking like a washboard with two grapefruits attached to the front of it. Others who regretfully damaged their looks with fake tits include classic stars like Jeanna Fine and Asia Carerra; Both were hot before they started mucking with their bodies' natural assets. <p> Don't the porn producers and adult actresses realize that it takes ALL KINDS, and that some of us LIKED their smaller, natural tits? <p> Also, one other pet peeve: Guys in porn who won't SHUT UP. Look, dude; I don't want to hear a dude chattering away while I'm watching porn. I want to hear a nice feminine voice. <p> OK. One more pet peeve- POV movies that aren't really POV. They shoot from the hip, from the side, from over the shoulder, or from under the legs, and then have the audacity to call that shit "Point Of View"??? Look, Mr. Cameraman/Director- I don't know if you get the concept of "POV", but unless there were a series of mirrors involved, there has NEVER been an occasion where I've been able to see my own asshole while fucking a woman. There has never been a moment when I was able to see the back of my own head while fucking a woman. I have NEVER been able to make my point of view originate from my hips. If you're going to shoot "POV" then there's only ONE way to do it, and that is having the guy doing the scene hold a camera. If he's got a cameraman climbing all over him, then what you've got isn't POV at all-- It's more like having a midget pal's POV of you having sex with a woman, while he climbs all over you and under you. I don't want to see any between-the-leg shots of swinging testicles in a POV film, dammit! <p> Oh, and porn directors who shoot in widescreen: PICK A STANDARD TILT FOR THE CAMERA. If you're going to tilt the camera so you can take a "tall" shot, then stick to ONE angle. Don't tilt to the left, then tilt to the right, then back to the left. Why? Because some of us use the pivot feature of our monitors to watch the shot so the woman's head is at the "top" of the screen, and if you shoot it like that, then suddenly twist the camera back 180 degrees, then you invalidate the whole point of shooting a "tall" shot like that because now the scene is upside down on the monitor. Here's a tip: Most monitors or mounts tilt CLOCKWISE, so that the right side of the screen becomes the bottom of the screen. SHOOT IT THAT WAY! <p> There's absolutely a need for porn in our society. If we can't have legalized prostitution, then porn is the next best thing in a society that is pathetically ashamed of its own sexuality. <p>

    by Baked

We all know he would have done exactly this anyway and, let's face it, he's a PORN producer and Sarah Palin's base is MEN, not women. The fact that AICN is discussing it is the issue here, and you probably shouldn't in good taste. <p> Larry Flynt, on the other hand, doesn't have any. This is the guy who had a cartoon of Jerry Falwell banging his mom. So Sarah Palin should get special treatment because she's a politically apposite woman? Come on, now.

    by ArmandVA

this can't be compared to porn versions of actual movies. movies are ENTERTAINMENT, not life. and, like it or hate it, and i personally do hate it, this woman could be the future of our country. u know, your real life? what's funny is the people trying to sound like they watch porn for it's scathing social commentary. u sound like the right wingers tryin to convince me that Sarah Palin is Will Hunting, as if i'm just too stupid to see it. Mori's right. this is not about free speech, and no one is saying that Flynt can't do whatever disgusting thing he wants in reference to actual REAL people who aren't characters in middle earth. but, it's about a coarsening of our culture, and a cash grab for Flynt, and nothing else. When Flynt makes a porn about Obama, then we can call it fair and balanced, but till then, this emperor truly does have no clothes.

  • Oct. 5, 2008, 11:07 a.m. CST

    by Alientoast

I think this porn has less to do with the fact she's a woman and more to do with the fact she's a fairly MILFy woman. It's even been posted on news outlets that most Palin searches on google are queries like "sarah palin hot", etc. He's just striking while the anvil is hot and trying to cash in on the apparent demand. And it will work.

But promoting a porn in an attempt to smear public officials is stepping far, far over the line and you know it.

    by ButterNipples

    1. If you fuel it, they will comment and keep poking at you like a kid would a dead bird with a stick. 2. Satire is Satire, be it porn or not. 3. Politics is boring. It only makes people look even more like uneducated idiots when they argue for one party or another in America. It's like asking Coke or Pepsi, and no one really gives a crap if someone gets their order wrong(i.e. Election '00) 4. It's porn. I'd like to believe this site has a tiny bit more integrity than to pander itself to perverts or simple political whims. 5. On second thought about #4, who the hell am I kidding? There is about as much a chance of "journalistic integrity" present in any form of media as there is the LHC actually creating a blackhole and swallowing our problems once and for all. Let alone this site anymore. 5. You're now Hollywood. Names, the insiders, the last line of kiss-ass jesters in a Utopian nightmare. no one gives a crap what you think anymore. it's like asking a chimp why they like to fling feces.

this is a very hard subject to discuss rationally

    by cinematt

There are just so many differing opinions speaking so passionately about the views they espouse, so it's hard to know what's really right here. Should AICN have run this story? Maybe and maybe not, the subject matter, that being a porn movie satirizing Sarah Palin, might seem to be "cool news" in some people eyes but not others. Is this "Nailin' Palin" porno an unfair shot at Palin in particular and conservatives in general? Again, depends on which side of the political fence you're on and how far your tolerance for these types of things go. It's just sad to see that an insignificant thing as a porno movie could cause such discoures on what's supposed to be a "fun" site. I guess it's just a reflection on how far we've fallen in terms of keeping our eye on the ball as far as monitoring our leaders and tending to the business of playing a role in the politics of our government. Maybe after this election, things will change, hopefully for the better, but whomever wins, they will have the unenviable task of restoring faith in our government at time when being an American is not so good these days. I don't know, I'm just rambling here, I just hope the American people do the right thing on election day. That's all.

This isn't a fucking attack on anyone's gender. Jesus Christ. Larry Flynt is doing EXACTLY what SNL is doing-- he's taking advantage of Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton's high profiles during an election year. SNL writes sketches about it, and Hustler is doing what they do: make a porno. And they're going to make millions of dollars. You think Flynt gives two shits about it other than that? And by the way, who says they *aren't* making an Obama porno?

He also hates republicans and has never made that a secret. And yes, it's porno, it objectifies women. SHOCKING! This man pushes the Bill of Rights to it's extreme limits. Good for him. If it wasn't for his pushing boundarys and fighting for a free and open media, half the shit you enjoy watching on TV and in movies wouldn't be possible. Get off your high horse.

    by LaserPants

In that they'll do this kind of gonzo political satire mixed up with all the hardcore sex. Palin is a PERFECT target for this kind of stuff, because she basically already is a porno star for the extreme right wing fundie fuckwits. She's an idiot, woefully unqualified, totally fucking retarded, but undeniably MILFy. Since it seems VERY unlikely that she is going to get into office (thank fucking god), what else can she do? I imagine she'll do a stint as yet another ignoramus FOX News pundit and as her star continues to wane (she's rapidly approaching the "rust" phase now) will eventually find her way into amateur porn via a "leaked" video tape not unlike Pam Anderson and Paris Hilton. She will deny she had anything to do with the tape, when, of course, it will have been planned from the outset.

righteous indignation never works for you. This has nothing to do with misogyny; this is about fantasy fulfillment. Sarah Pailin is hot, she's a MILF, everybody pretty much agrees with that. Males (porn's primary demographic) would like to see her naked if given the chance -- Larry Flynt provides that opportunity. <p> Plenty of women think Barack Obama is good looking; if they bought porn in the numbers that men did, well, you would see an Obama porn.

    by Kirbymanly

While I'm no Palin fan, I do think that posting porn news (and citing that scum-filled, puss bucket group TMZ) is a little beneath AICN. As is Script Girl. If it were me (a guy) sitting in front of a camera reading articles from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter and attempting to tell, ultimately, lame jokes it would never become a weekly feature on this site. The only thing that would help my cause would be to have a c-cup and a push-up bra. Given your take on this Palin post, Mori, I'm curious, as I'm sure others are as well, as to what your thoughts are on Script Girl being posted here.

I think she is one of the biggest breaths of fresh air to come on the national scene since Reagan.<p> But the porn doesn't surprise me, or even bother me. Palin is an attractive women, and it's entirely natural that something like this would happen. It's not sexist to recognize that men respond to attractive women in a different way than women respond to, say, Obama. I don't think it really hurts her politically.<p> If you take 'sexist' to mean _ANY_ difference in perception based on gender, politics has always been sexist, including Obama's campaign; every Democrat for the last couple of decades would have lost in a landslide if only men voted, and would have won in a landslide if only women voted.

  • Oct. 5, 2008, 2:05 p.m. CST

    by Animus

This has nothing to do with gender... Flynt wants to make money, so he makes a porn that will strike while the iron is hot. In this case, it's about Palin; not because she's female, not because he supports Obama, but because he wants to make money. And why the hell would he make a porn with a lookalike Obama? You know who watches porn?! MEN. Men are NOT watching porn admiring the male lead, no, they want to see the women. That's why they're making a porn with "Palin", and not "Obama"... this almost has nothing to do with politics, but instead the profit. And why the fuck is this even on AICN?! This isn't cool, nor news.

We all know he had an affair with a pretty, blond lobbyist in 2000, and now he looks forward to another affair with Pretty Palin. For a 40ish mom of 5, she is hot. ... you misunderstand. Some of the nicest people I know in LA are pornographers. I don't mind the business. Not a big consumer of it myself these days, but whatever. <P>My point is this: this isn't "just" a porno parody. I know those are a cornerstone of the industry. And thanks for the lesson, SleazyD, but I know exactly what Flynt's political proclivities are, and that's my point. This is part for the course for him. What's NOT is the way the mainstream (and that includes us) are running it with such unbridled glee because of the virulent hatred for Palin that has erupted since her announcement. <P>Sorry if it offends any of you that I think the election of a President and Vice-President are important enough that EITHER SIDE that engages in this kind of slimy nasty character assassination marks themselves as unable to lead. And maybe my mistake above was not putting "liberal media" in quotes. I've heard people protest that there's no liberal media. Not at all. Well, when you see an organization like CNN pick this story up and give it some significant play, that "myth" starts looking true. And my point about the Obama Fried Chicken ad is that the only way that would get reported would be through the clenched teeth of outrage, not with this snickering elbow to the ribs. "GET IT? SHE GETS FUCKED! AHAHAHAHAHA! IT'S HILARIOUS!" <P>No. It's not. <P>If this is the level of discourse you're comfortable with, then 2008's election must seem like heaven to you. Personally, I wish I could just write in David Walker for President and wash my hands of both parties. The system is fucked beyond repair, so maybe this movie's more of an apt metaphor than I gave it credit for.

But McCain's campaign is the slimiest lie and smear machine I've ever witnessed ... and they just kicked it up 10 notches. <p> If McCain and Palin were acting like real statesmen, I'd say they ought to be treated as such. But so far we've seen McCain desperate enough to gamble on this nation's economy by disrupting the bailout negotiations - which resulted in $150 Billion more in added pork - and now Palin taking up the race card gambit. <p> It saddens Americans to see a Presidential race sink so low - but Larry Flynt didn't set the tone. McCain/Palin did.

That's good that you finally left the business whilst turning a profit to atleast live comfortably. It's always good to quit while your'e ahead as I heard it could damage one's psyche after awhile. Unfortunatley Porn will forever be stigmatized/demonized as sleazy business for every contractual agreements between the actresses, there's questionable things which gives the "legitimate" side of Porn a very bad name.<p>Have you ever been desensitized to sex after all the scenes you have done?I know it's almost every guy's fantasy to make it with all kinds of Women,You have lived the life that many could only wet-dream of heh-heh.On the other hand, but have you ever had any regrets being involved in the industry and did it interfere with any serious relationships with Women?I'm sure it's had it's moments IE women, parties & weed.<p> No doubt I'll check out your site/blogs, hopefully you'll have some tales like hanging out with DeeDee Ramones or more of the Punk scene.I'm just curious to know if most of the Gonzo stuff is realI felt most of it was scripted, then again there are quite a bit of "open minded" Women out there..judging from personal experience. Your reaction to this movie is exactly what makes its existence so much fun (although I'm sure some will have a much more direct reaction to it, and then some cleaning up to do). Its good that it pisses people off, and I would have the same gleeful interest in an Obama fried chicken ad, and the reaction it would generate. May Larry Flynt continue to rape the uptights' brains by way of their clenched assholes. If Sarah Palin was any kind of human being, she would recognize it as the harmless and amusing sniper bullet that it is. I know I would, if I was her. She might not like it, exactly, but it only does as much harm as is desired by the harmed. The fear and offense we have at mere ideas is what keeps our stupid fucking species from gaining any kind of perspective or enlightenment. Oh, and fuck the media from all sides, bias is irrelevant. Step back and enjoy chaos.

That's hilarious to me man. Rick Davis is outsliming The Brain. McCain is out of his mind. <p> As to your point, though, you have to notice one important thing: Obama and his campaign have showed remarkable restraint. They are fighting, I'm sure, every impulse to get dragged into McCain's gutter politics. So this is not a race where both opponents are smearing each other, and Obama/Biden seem pretty content to watch McCain/Palin hang themselves with their own rope. <p> As for Larry Flynt, I'm sure a lot of Right-wingers will display outrage, but they're the ones who will buy this porn anyway. You won't, I won't. Secretly, they are salivating at this movie.

Ayers connection to Obama perfectly legitimate

    by GreatOne3

Although it should have been done a month ago prior to the conventions, when most people were starting to pay attention. We'll see if it does anything now. Perfect example of liberal bias in the press - it's okay to be a domestic terrorist as long as your a left-wing nutjob. If a Republican had ties, say, to Tim McVeigh, he'd have been drum out of serious political consideration. Not if you're part of Daley's political machine, I guess.

  • Oct. 5, 2008, 5:46 p.m. CST

Here's all you need to know about Ayers

    by GreatOne3

From National Review's Andrew McCarthy, former Asst. U.S. Attorney who prosecuted the blind shiek behind the first bombing of the WTC(<p> In that Fox interview that Rich linked to, Ayers preposterously claimed that he and his fellow Weather Underground terrorists did not really intend to harm any people — the fact that no one was killed in their 20 or so bombings was, he said, "by design"; they only wanted to cause property damage: <p> Between October 1969 and September 1973, the Weather Underground claimed credit for some twenty bombings across the country, in which no one was harmed — save the three cell members who perished in a Greenwich Village townhouse in March 1970, when one of their creations detonated prematurely. Ayers claimed the fact that no other individuals were killed as a result of the Weathermen’s actions was “by design.” <p> In his autobiography, Fugitive Days: A Memoir, Ayers recalled, he posed the question: “How far are you willing to take that step into what I consider the abyss of violence? And we really never did, except for that moment in the townhouse.… I actually think destroying property in the face of that kind of catastrophe is so — restrained. And I don’t see it as a big deal. <p> Right. <p> First of all, "that moment in the townhouse" he's talking about happened in 1970. Three of his confederates, including his then girlfriend Diana Oughton, were accidentally killed when the explosive they were building to Ayers specifications (Ayers was a bomb designer) went off during construction. As noted in Ayers' Discover the Networks profile, the explosive had been a nail bomb. Back when Ayers was being more honest about his intentions, he admitted that the purpose of that bomb had been to murder United States soldiers: <p> That bomb had been intended for detonation at a dance that was to be attended by army soldiers at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Hundreds of lives could have been lost had the plan been successfully executed. Ayers attested that the bomb would have done serious damage, "tearing through windows and walls and, yes, people too." <p> In fact, Ayers was a founder of the Weatherman terror group and he defined its purpose as carrying out murder. Again, from Discover the Networks: <p> Characterizing Weatherman as "an American Red Army," Ayers summed up the organization's ideology as follows: "Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, Kill your parents." <p> Now he wants you to think they just wanted to break a few dishes. But in his book Fugitive Days, in which he boasts that he "participated in the bombings of New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, of the Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972," he says of the day that he bombed the Pentagon: "Everything was absolutely ideal. ... The sky was blue. The birds were singing. And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them." <p> And he wasn't singular. As I noted back in April in this article about Obama's motley collection of radical friends, at the Weatherman “War Council” meeting in 1969, Ayers' fellow terrorist and now-wife, Bernadine Dohrn, famously gushed over the barbaric Manson Family murders of the pregnant actress Sharon Tate, coffee heiress Abigail Folger, and three others: “Dig it! First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them. They even shoved a fork into the victim’s stomach! Wild!” And as Jonah recalled yesterday, "In appreciation, her Weather Underground cell made a threefingered 'fork' gesture its official salute." They weren't talking about scratching up the wall-paper. <p> A Weatherman affiliate group which called itself "the Family" colluded with the Black Liberation Army in the 1981 Brinks robbery in which two police officers and an armed guard were murdered. (Obama would like people to believe all this terrorist activity ended in 1969 when he was eight years old. In fact, it continued well into the eighties.) Afterwards, like Ayers and Dohrn, their friend and fellow terrorist Susan Rosenberg became a fugitive. <p> On November 29, 1984, Rosenberg and a co-conspirator, Timothy Blunk, were finally apprehended in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. At the time, they were actively planning an unspeakable bombing campaign that would have put at risk the lives of countless innocent people. They also possessed twelve assorted guns (including an Uzi 9 mm. semi-automatic rifle and an Ithaca twelve-gauge shotgun with its barrel sawed off), nearly 200 sticks of dynamite, more than 100 sticks of DuPont Trovex (a high explosive), a wide array of blasting agents and caps, batteries, and switches for explosive devices. Arrayed in disguises and offering multiple false identities to arresting officers, the pair also maintained hundreds of false identification documents, including FBI and DEA badges. <p> When she was sentenced to 58 years' imprisonment in 1985, the only remorse Rosenberg expressed was over the fact that she and Blunk had allowed themselves to be captured rather than fighting it out with the police. Bernadine Dohrn was jailed for contempt when she refused to testify against Rosenberg. Not to worry, though. On his last day in office, the last Democrat president, Bill Clinton, pardoned Rosenberg — commuting her 58-year sentence to time-served. <p> These savages wanted to kill massively. That they killed only a few people owes to our luck and their incompetence, not design. They and the Democrat politicians who now befriend and serve them can rationalize that all they want. But those are the facts.

    Palin is a joke

    by Cedar_Room

utterly out of her depth, parotting whatever guff she's been told to say - reporting that a porno has been made featuring a woman who looks slightly like her is all she deserves. Ridicule the fuck out of this imbecile. I may be wrong but I don't think there has been any porn made starring Condi Rice or Margaret Thatcher-a-likes (good God what an awful mental image) and thats because despite whether you agree or not with their politics, you could not deny that they were still women of substance who formed their own opinions. Palin reads from cue cards and if the questions go off topic she simply doesn't answer them. Its like learning Shakespeare - its all very well learning the lines, but you have to know what they mean. Palin doesn't have a fucking clue. She's empty behind those eyes, so she might as well be persuaded to take it up the wrong 'un. She probably thinks the marmite motorway is another pork barrel she has pretend she always opposed.

    People need to relax...

    by Frank Black

This site is the same site it has always been and yes, it is still cool... The "right" side of Hollywood has An American Carol out and they attack the "liberal media" and the left all of the time. Adult films are still movies (I saw the premiere of Digital Playground's Pirates 2 in Hollywood last week and it was better than most of the mainstream movies I saw this year.) Am I alone in wishing the people who claimed to hate this site would stop coming to it, and stop posting? If you hate it, why does it seem like it is your hobby to come around and sling sh*t? What makes this site cool is that they cover whatever they want, and not what you want them too! Larry Flynt is a hick who got rich through exploitation but he is also someone who took a bullet (literally) for us all so we can have the freedom to express ourselves. (You can say he didn't but every individual who puts up a fight to open minds and bring common sense to our judicial levels of government is a true freedom fighter. This porn spoof is lame, but it is also what they do in adult films and will do. They spoof stuff. Palin is about the most spoof-worthy idiot ever introduced to the American people and she is fair game (just as any one is.) If women were wired the way men are they might make an Obama porn spoofing him. Who knows? Who cares? I love America because we can do stupid stuff like this. I'm not buying it or watching it because I am tired of Sarah Palin's robotic answers and dim bulb intellect. There is nothing hot about her. I strongly disagree with Moriarity much of the time, but I still love reading his stuff and he is one of the reasons I still read this site EVERY DAY! Porn is not free speech

    by GreatOne3

Another fine example of liberalism - moral degenerates who don't want to feel bad about their perverted behavior, so they find fellow moral degenerates to call it "free speech" or "free expression" and legitimize the behavior.<p>The free speech provisions of the 1st Amendment was designed solely to protect political speech, so as to allow us to criticize our elected officials. But thanks to the left-wingers on the Supreme Court, we now see political speech restricted (campaign finance laws, McCain-Feingold), but anything short of child porn is allowable. Great. Makes me proud to be an American.

But hey, when I read the scholarly dissertation you just gave, I get the feeling that I wasted my time and money getting my degree. And I also see that critical reading is one of your strong points, as I clearly indicated that it was left-wingers on the Supreme Court bastardizing the intent of the 1st Amendment in order to allow people like you to not feel so bad after you getting done spending some quality time with yourself and the latest magazine/video. As we’ve seen over the past 40 years, just because the Supreme Court says something doesn’t end the debate, as it used to. Just look at Bowers v. Hardwick and Lawrence v. Texas; don't like the Court's opinion, just wait a few more years and a few more new justices.

Possibly. If McCain blows this (and I say that because he's had ample opportunity to overtake Obama), it'll be at least 15 years before we have the same opportunity to restore sanity to the Supreme Court.<p>And so we're clear, I'm not looking for a Supreme Court that bans abortion, bans marriage between those engaging in homosexual conduct, bans drugs, etc. That would be just as bad. Send all of these social issues back to the states for local state legislatures to decide. That's they way it was intended to be, and that's the way it was for the first 175 years of this nation.

    Lost_Horizon -- yes, there's a fine line between raunch & porn

    by m00kiedood

But apparently unless you are Moriarty, you need a microscope to discern it.<P> Exhibit A: Harry's cunnilingual review of Blade II <P>, etc. Exhibit B: Mori's straight faced review of Moore's kiddie porn comic Lost Girls <P> For the love of Chocolate covered pussy juice, stop pointing fingers at Herc for his funny post, and hop down off of that freaking high horse that you're trotting around on. <P> Sane, mature, political discourse? We absolutely deserve it and must insist on it. <P> But last time I checked, no one (except Moriarty) was holding AICN up as the benchmark of progressive American debate.<P> AICN Christmas parties must be a blast. If I was there, I think I'd be hanging back with Herc, spiking the punch and sending anonymous text messages to Mori insulting him on his suit just to watch him get all riled up, with Harry giving us high fives on the sly.

Imagine my surprise to find someone on AICN willing to call this misogynist bullshit (which it us). Imagine my further surprise that this opinion is shared by the majority of the talkbackers. Is it the fact that Flynt is trying to make a buck out of the thing that gets your goat, or is it the fact that he's going after a woman? Or is it both? Or is it the lowbrow nature of the whole thing? Flynt is a pornographer. Bono is a musician. Flynt makes his living as well as political statements with porn. Bono makes his living as well as political statements with music. Should I criticize U2 for making money off of Sunday Bloody Sunday? Never mind if I agree with the message... Is it tasteless? This is 'livejournal' quality journalism you're pulling right here.

  • Oct. 6, 2008, 9:47 a.m. CST

    by ArcadianDS

I enjoyed the film. I enjoyed the 'tweaks' to the traditional story-line. I enjoyed that they strove to incorporate nearly EVERY Speed Racer plot device into one single storyline. What I did not like was:<p> 1. every scene with Spridle and Chim-Chim. They weren't even there as comic relief. They were there because 'we cant make a movie without them.' Sorry, but 9/10ths of what was wrong with this movie was how they used these characters. For christ's sake they 'screech record sound' stopped the big 'heroes kiss' moment with a pop-up Spridle basically saying, "theyre gonna kiss. eeeew gross!" This movie would be perfect if they cut out every single scene with the fat kid and the monkey. There isn't a single moment in the movie where they factor in somehow. They do nothing but interrupt things. Some very meaty dramatic scenes are inexplicably chopped apart sushi-style with Mission Impossible type parodies involving a fat kid, a chimp, and a jet airplane full of candy. what the hell....<p> 2. style over story - never before has a movie been so clearly and obviously designed to sell video games. At first, I really dug the whole 'bending of the world' as a scene shift technique like when boy Speed in school fantasizes about racing - his whole reality stretches and blurs into a very nice cgi representation of racing - a representation that was practically carbon paper lifted from the original cartoon. good stuff. I even thought the 'slowly panning heads' moments (aka news reporters, etc) was a clever device. And lastly, I really dug the way that all the drivers in conversation never sat still - the camera ALWAYS slowly rotated and panned. Very cool stuff. But what failed was again the Spridle ninja moments. That was really bad. And the worst moment? When we're supposed to get that iconic 'Speed Racer leaping from his car with arms aflail' moment - and we get a 'canonball dive' squat thrusting knee clutching cut-and-paste moment that a high school media student with a java editor and a youtube account could have pulled off. It was just bad. In a movie that is built from the ground up around the idea that CGI-as-reality can be awesome, these scenes just fail - hard and heavy.<p> 3. Architect Syndrome: Remember how riveting and revealing the Architect scenes were in the Matrix Trilogy? How they so clearly and plainly explained everything so that the past now made sense and the future was so clear? Yeah - me neither. These scenes were one of the biggest 'what the hell did he just say?' moments in movie history. The scene where Big Bad Rich Guy explains all the corruption and fakery behind the 'pure sport' of auto racing comes in as a close second. Its a scene where no less than 5 people are menitioned by name that we (a) have never heard of and (b) will never hear of again. This guy colluded with that guy so the other guy could buy this fourth guy's company at a reduced rate and then the 4th guy paid off the 2nd guy so the 1st guy could then double his stock options and sell when they split and --- OMG JUST RACE CARS PLEASE!! Oh and yeah - that scene I just described? Its so badly written that they had to splice it apart in 13 second intervals with the aforementioned 'Spridle steals candy' scene that turns out to be oh so very NOT important to this movie at all - just to keep everyone from falling asleep.<p> 4. What just happened? There are stunts and car-jitsu moments that are very VERY cool and very well done. But they are very few. For the most part, every single car-jitsu moment is so fast, so blurry, so over effected, that your eyes and brain cannot even process what is going on. Speed comes up on a pair of cars and they're racing for the big finish, and then its all blasting spark contrails and cars blurred and spinning and flipping and then as you struggle, eyes dialated, to figure out what the hell is actually going on, KABOOM cars blow up and Speed wins. Yeah - most of the movie is like that. The race effects could have been just a little bit slower in pace, and they'd be perfect.<p> all in all - I liked the movie but then I also hated the movie. If Indy IV had never happened, instead of talking about movies that 'nuked the fridge' we'd be talking about movies that 'stole the jet candy' - I paid ONE WHOLE DOLLAR to rent this DVD, and I think it was a fair price. Any more than that, and I'd want a refund.

Palin did a lot more damage to her image and credibility after that debate last week then any porno movie ever will. She is an absolute joke who was put on the ticket merely to try to steal votes away from women who are still angry that Hillary isn't the dem candidate and now that people know about her record and the fact that she knows nothing she's become one of McCain's biggest liabilities. Bravo to McCain for surrounding himself with people as inept as Sarah Palin and Phil "The Economy-Killer" Gramm.

Don't you think you're overreacting. If you generally don't like porn because you believe it's degrading to women, that's fine. But this is far from the first porn movie based upon versions of real life people. Nor even the first based upon a president - cf, Scenes from the Oral Office.<p><p> As far as the press coverage, the MSM suck as they always have. And there is no liberal bias, just a corporate "how many papers can we sell/viewers we can draw/hits we can get" sensationalism. Flynt's motive may be to undermine Palin, but this would have been done eventually in the porn world, regardless.

    In defense of McCain...

    by DoctorWho?

At least he sees that Keating 5 mess as one of the BIGGEST mistakes he ever made. He's come out over the years and said how much regret he had. Even threw Keating out of his office once he realised this guy went too far. Sure, too little too late I suppose.<p> I would like to know Obama had done the same to a bad guy like Ayers. Wright and and Ayers were his mentors for years. They shaped his world view. <p> I don't think people care though. La la la la la la...don't want to hear a thing. It's easier to make fun of Palin

  • Oct. 6, 2008, 3:29 p.m. CST

Then they should be talking about U.S. Council for World Freedom

    by toadkillerdog

An ultra-right wing racist group. McCain sat on it's board. <p> Paul Begala quote on Meet the Press - " And I think Governor Palin here is making a strategic mistake. This guilt by association path is going to be trouble ultimately for the McCain campaign. You know, you can go back, I have written a book about McCain, I had a dozen researchers go through him, I didn't even put this in the book. But John McCain sat on the board of a very right-wing organization, it was the U.S. Council for World Freedom, it was chaired by a guy named John Singlaub, who wound up involved in the Iran contra scandal. It was an ultra conservative, right-wing group. The Anti-Defamation League, in 1981 when McCain was on the board, said this about this organization. It was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League - the parent organization - which ADL said "has increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racists and anti-Semites." <p> Guilt by association - anchorite. You and others want to bring up ridiculous charges against Obama, well try this charge against McCain. <p> Yeah, look this up here. <p> <p> and here <p>

Anyone who can possilbly think that Palin - who was deemed credible simply because she could read talking points from her note cards on podium - even while never answering a question directly - is qualified to be V.P., will believe anything

Just say so.<p> Funny thing is, Obama wouldn't even be able to get a job with the FBI if he wanted. As soon as they would background his connection with Ayers: application would be denied.<p> Oh the irony.

I am 42 and never heard of him before election. These are the only straws they can grasp at - it is simply pathetic.<p> It is a coordinated and desperate attempt to shift the focus from the Economy - from real politics. McCains own campaign ANNOUNCED that this was their strategy. They are that desparate to be heard. <p> If nothing else, ask yourself this: When a candidate (McCain) has no plans or strategies for dealing with a crisis other than bringing up an association his opponent has to crime that was committed when the opponent was 8 years old - when that is all that a candidate has to offer, do you really trust him with solving the crisis?

  • Oct. 6, 2008, 4:01 p.m. CST

  • Oct. 6, 2008, 4:07 p.m. CST

    by toadkillerdog

But to answer your question. I saw one youtube clip of Rev. Wright. I was not outraged as some were - I saw it for what it was - a preacher using inflammatory language and rhetoric for effect. It certainly is different from my Catholic upbringing, but in itself I was not offended. I read more about Wright and his church, some of the things they did were very good, some of the things he said were despicable. All in all, if Obama believed what Wright was spewing towards the end of his being a pastor, I would have a hard time voting for him.<p> If he believed what Ayers believed in when he was a bomber - I would not vote for him.

Ayers’ radicalism isn’t something in the past. It’s something to which Obama gave moral and financial support as an adult. So when Shane says that Obama has never expressed sympathy for Ayers’ radicalism, he’s flat wrong. Obama’s funded it.<p> Obama was perfectly aware of Ayers’ radical views, since he read and publically endorsed, without qualification, Ayers’ book on juvenile crime. That book is quite radical, expressing doubts about whether we ought to have a prison system at all, comparing America to South Africa’s apartheid system, and contemptuously dismissing the idea of the United States as a kind or just country.

The stuff in the clips of his sermons was no more than righteous anger over actual injustices.

BSB - get real about Ayers

    by GreatOne3

Ayers is an unrepetant terrorist who Obama should have stayed far, far away from:<p>From National Review's Andrew McCarthy, former Asst. U.S. Attorney who prosecuted the blind shiek behind the first bombing of the WTC( <p>In that Fox interview that Rich linked to, Ayers preposterously claimed that he and his fellow Weather Underground terrorists did not really intend to harm any people — the fact that no one was killed in their 20 or so bombings was, he said, "by design"; they only wanted to cause property damage: <p> Between October 1969 and September 1973, the Weather Underground claimed credit for some twenty bombings across the country, in which no one was harmed — save the three cell members who perished in a Greenwich Village townhouse in March 1970, when one of their creations detonated prematurely. But those are the facts.

    by GreatOne3

From the New York Times (<p>"During the Keating Five scandal, committee Democrats resisted dropping the case against John McCain, the Arizona Republican, because that would have left only Democrats accused of improper dealings with Charles Keating, the savings and loan executive."<p>And from Bob Bennett, the Senate’s own investigator and noted Democrat:<p> "It was clear that McCain should not have been at the table nor should Glenn," Bennett said. "I felt it was unfair for McCain to be included as part of the Keating Five." Bennett stressed that he was not speaking as part of the campaign, though he noted he also represented McCain in his recent battles with the New York Times."<p>But hey, don't let facts get in the way of your argument.

Some lovely Wiki stuff About McCain and Keating 5

    by G100

Senators John Glenn and John McCain were cleared of having acted improperly but were criticized for having exercised "poor judgment".<p> <p>On his Keating Five experience, McCain has said: "The appearance of it was wrong. It's a wrong appearance when a group of senators appear in a meeting with a group of regulators, because it conveys the impression of undue and improper influence. And it was the wrong thing to do."<p> <p>McCain would write in 2002 that attending the two April 1987 meetings was "the worst mistake of my life"<p> <p>Criticised for Poor judgement and saying his involvemnet was the worst mistake of his life in the savings and loan scandal. I'm SURE that's goin to help McCain HUGELY now that the Economy is fallling to pieces.<p> <p>And McCain is VERY guilty of palling around with Keating.<p> <p>McCain and Keating had become personal friends following their initial contacts in 1981, and McCain was the only one of the five with close social and personal ties to Keating. Like DeConcini, McCain considered Keating a constituent as he lived in Arizona. Between 1982 and 1987, McCain had received $112,000 in political contributions from Keating and his associates. In addition, McCain's wife Cindy McCain and her father Jim Hensley had invested $359,100 in a Keating shopping center in April 1986, a year before McCain met with the regulators. McCain, his family, and their baby-sitter had made nine trips at Keating's expense, sometimes aboard Keating's jet. Three of the trips were made during vacations to Keating's opulent Bahamas retreat at Cat Cay. McCain did not pay Keating (in the amount of $13,433) for some of the trips until years after they were taken, when he learned that Keating was in trouble over Lincoln. In 1989 Phoenix New Times writer Tom Fitzpatrick opined that McCain was the "most reprehensible" of the five senators.

    Easily explained

    by GreatOne3

McCain is a military man, and felt horrible by what he almost got involved in. That's why he's spent most of his career with a reformist bent, McCain-Feingold being a direct result of the Keating 5 situation.<p>I'm still waiting to hear, from you, what McCain did wrong with Keating 5. What did he do. I've explained twice that McCain almost got caught up with the scandal, but recognized at the end what was going on and pulled out. His regret is from getting suckered in to begin with. <p>And no one is going to be held criminally responsible for today's mess. The current system of donations from lobbyists has to go, and this is a prime exampel of why. But it's legal to influence legislators this way, so while it's reprehensible, no one goes to jail. I'll also agree with you that it's reprehensible for Fuld to get all that money, but, if I recall correctly, that was the Board voting to give it to him. Horrendous, but that's more the Board's fault than his.

G100 - still fighting the good fight with facts

    by toadkillerdog

It is guilt by association politics - McCain and lackeys are attempting to change the national discussion from the economy to Obama's supposed character issues. Pathetic, transparent, and ultimately - pointless. There is one and only one thing that will change this election in favor of McCain - and Gold help us if that happens. It would be a terrorist attack on U.S. mainland. That would change the game. It is still too early to roll out victory parade, but if things hold true - it McCain is in danger of being in an historic loss. Still too early for that though

  • Oct. 6, 2008, 9:17 p.m. CST

It's not too late - you guys win. But that doesn't change that

    by GreatOne3

Obama has serious character deficiences and it's a crying shame that he will be in the White House the next four year (but no longer). Character does matter, and Obama's main mentors are on record as America-hating nutjobs. People forget that the majority of the character flaws of Bill Clinton were pointed out well before the election, but people didn't care. Just like now. Oh well, you were warned.

  • Oct. 6, 2008, 9:18 p.m. CST

He wasn't ALMOST involved in it he WAS involved in it

    by G100

You don't get pulled into a Senate Ethics Committee hearing and get critized for exercizing POOR JUDGEMENT for ALMOST being involved in something Puuuhhhlease. Weak dude, fucking weak. Poor Judgement in such an iconic Economic Scandal as Savings and Loan. Poor judgement which, not me, not the New York fucking Times but John McCain himself has said "it was the wrong thing to do." and "the worst mistake of my life"<p> <p>And I think you are also way off base if you think there was no chance of criminality in this current clusterfuck. NO-ONE has been able to decipher the balance sheets and shady accounting practices from any of the fallen Giants YET. But sooner or later they will. And it's a distinct possibility there's going to be some people who let the unbelievable Greed turn into outright fraud as well as manipulation of Company accounts.<p> <p>It's not going to happen yet but it certainly won't surprise me if some people are going to jail in the coming months and years.<p> <p>And Fuld and the Board are symbiotically involved as the bonus system will show. Yeah one can't do it without the other but those bonuses were built on the massive profits they gleaned from almost worthless securites which the shareholders were kept in the dark about.

More on Obama and Bill Ayers

    by GreatOne3

From Powerline Blog (<p>I Was NIne Years Old... <P> ...when Barack Obama's friend tried to kill me. The mainstream media have bought Barack Obama's spin on his relationship with Bill Ayers--I was only eight years old when he was trying to commit mass murder!--hook, line and sinker. So it's revealing to hear from one of Ayers' intended victims, John Murtagh: <P> During the April 16 debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, moderator George Stephanopoulos brought up “a gentleman named William Ayers,” who “was part of the Weather Underground in the 1970s. They bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol, and other buildings. He’s never apologized for that.” Stephanopoulos then asked Obama to explain his relationship with Ayers. Obama’s answer: “The notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was eight years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn’t make much sense, George.” Obama was indeed only eight in early 1970. I was only nine then, the year Ayers’s Weathermen tried to murder me. <p> In February 1970, my father, a New York State Supreme Court justice, was presiding over the trial of the so-called “Panther 21,” members of the Black Panther Party indicted in a plot to bomb New York landmarks and department stores. Early on the morning of February 21, as my family slept, three gasoline-filled firebombs exploded at our home on the northern tip of Manhattan, two at the front door and the third tucked neatly under the gas tank of the family car. (Today, of course, we’d call that a car bomb.) A neighbor heard the first two blasts and, with the remains of a snowman I had built a few days earlier, managed to douse the flames beneath the car. That was an act whose courage I fully appreciated only as an adult, an act that doubtless saved multiple lives that night. <p> Read it all. During the years when Obama was "palling around" with Ayers, as Sarah Palin accurately termed it, Ayers was proud of his attempt to kill nine-year-old John Murtagh and his family. He said, for publication, that his only regret was that he, his wife and their murderous colleagues hadn't tried to kill more people. This unrepentant would-be mass murderer was the one person, over all other friends and acquaintances, whom Barack Obama chose to host his inaugural Democratic Party political fundraiser. And Ayers was Obama's close collaborator in trying to "reform" Chicago's public education system by drenching it in radical politics and anti-Americanism. <p> Exactly as Obama dropped out of Jeremiah "God damn America" Wright's church only when the association became politically inconvenient, he insincerely "denounced" Ayers only after his association with the terrorist had become a liability. That was after years of working with Ayers as a radical political ally, without showing the slightest concern about his friend's career as an attempted mass murderer. <p> One wonders, sometimes, what it would take to convince an American reporter that a Democratic Presidential candidate has poor judgment.

G100 - you obviously did not read the NY Times quote

    by GreatOne3

So I'll repeat it for you again: <p>"Even so, this is not the first case of partisanship in the Senate committee. During the Keating Five scandal, committee Democrats resisted dropping the case against John McCain, the Arizona Republican, because that would have left only Democrats accused of improper dealings with Charles Keating, the savings and loan executive." <p>And Bob Bennett has said the same thing - McCain was only included so that it would not be an all-Democrat scandal. McCain's "worst mistake" was even talking to the idiots. It's a sense of relief from avoiding the mess. <p>Why can't you accept what's right in front of you? Gives rise to former Rep. Dick Armey's axiom that liberals see things when they believe it.

And McCains judgment with his pals Keating and Hagee ?

    by G100

Sorry but McCains Crazy Pastor tops Obamas with his insane holocaust remarks just for starters and "palling around" with Ayres is pathetically weak as in contrast there are clear and factual links from McCain to Keating again and again and again involving cold hard cash and influence.<p> <p>Or do you actually think the links to Hagee and Keating prove McCain has good judgement ?

How many people did this council kill? How many buildings did it blow up? How many members are on record saying, "God damn America" and other anti-American slogans?

  • Why can't you accept what McCain actually said ? He was closely involved with Keating and he was criticized for poor judgement. He said it was "the worst mistake of my life".<p> <p>You can pretend that doesn't matter all you wish but I think the voters might just disagree with you particularly in the current climate.

    It's not just "palling around"

    by GreatOne3

Obama was chair of Ayers pet project, the Annenberg Foundation. Obama launced his political career at Ayers' home. I don't have to repeat these things; you know about them. Why is this problematic to admit to?<p>And again, McCain booted Keating out of his office and cut off all contact with the man as soon as it became clear what he was up to. That showed great judgment and character.<p>As for Hagee: Is McCain a member of Hagee's church? No. Has McCain attended Hagee's church for 20 years? No. Did McCain take his children to Hagee's church? Again, no. Did Hagee baptize McCain's children? No. Did Hagee marry McCain and his wife? No. Did McCain title a book after one of Hagee's sermons? No. Did McCain compare Hagee to his uncle? No. Did McCain call Hagee his "sounding board?" No. Was McCain's relationship with Hagee so close that he said he could no more disown him than he could disown his own grandmother? No. <p>The primary difference here, which seems obvious to everyone but liberals, is that Obama has been so closely associated with Jeremiah Wright for so long, that it is extremely difficult to believe that he doesn't share a lot of the man's views. <p> You can't go to Klan meetings for 20 years, pal around with the guy running the whole kit and kaboodle, and then pretend to be shocked when he says something racist. "Why, I never knew the Grand Exalted Cyclops had a racist bone in his body! I certainly never heard that when I was at one of those Klan meetings!" <p> But that's exactly what Obama's trying to do. He went to an anti-white "Christian" church and spent 20 years buddying up with a vile, virulently racist, anti-American conspiracy kook and now he's trying to convince people that not only does he not share any of Wright's views, he didn't even have any idea that he held them in the first place.

CNN documents ties between Obama and Ayers

    by GreatOne3

On Anderson's Cooper 360 they did an investigative look at the Ayers/Obama connection. They found that they worked closely with each other and worked together on two boards -- both Annenberg and the Woods Foundation. They also talked about Ayers' party to launch Obama and found Obama hadn't been entirely honest about "just stopping by..." It was an event they planned and hosted together. <p>If there is nothing problematic in the relationship between the two, then why can't Obama own up to it?

  • Oct. 6, 2008, 10:03 p.m. CST

Has Obama repudiated Ayres and Wright ?

    by G100

Yes he has.<p> <p>But in the strange fantasy world of Republican McCain spin you only get credit for denouncing someone if you are McCain.<p> <p>McCain courted and sought out for months endorsement from Hagee. He had EVERY chance to vet him. He welcomed Hagees endorsement warmly and without reservation at a press conference. But he did not repudiate him till after weeks and weeks had passed even as the crazy piled up. It was ONLY when his Holocaust remarks came to light that he finally realised he was a lunatic and completely cut the cord.<p> <p>And Keating was far, FAR more than a passing aquaintance. Money changed hands for a start. And McCain stuck with him all the way ONLY finally cut off ties when it became devastatingly clear he was up to his neck in the S&L shit.<p> <p>At the end of the day though these are amusing but desperate sideshows (though McCains involvement with Keating speaks clearly and directly to his Economic judgement) what matters is the Economy is falling to pieces and that is what will decide the Election.<p> <p>A recession is here and Main Stret is feeling it. Right. Now. Even if the Market calms down to some kind of sanity the damage has been done and Jobs and Pensions and Healthcare will never have seemed more crucial to voters as when a full blown Recession is bearing down on them like an express train.<p> <p>Is that enough context for you or do you stil think this fuckwitted smearing with Ayres will decide the Election ?

  • Oct. 6, 2008, 10:39 p.m. CST

    Yes, but . . .

    by GreatOne3

    1) Hagee is a major religious figure in the South (and not my cup of tea; I'm RC and don't like most of these Southern pastors) and needed during the primary. Wright's church was for the "in crowd" politically in Chicago.<p>2) McCain left the moment he knew Hagee was a wackjob. Obama stayed for 20 years. He knew exactly who Wright was/is, and what he stands for. Quite frankly, I think he agrees with him.<p>3) McCain left Keating the moment he knew it was illegal. If you're talking about the corruption of lobbyists' money, we're on the same page.<p>4) Contrary to your party's belief, character does mean something in our leaders. McCain has it in spades, while Obama does not. It's that simple.

Laughable McCain is a blind fool in other words

    by G100

Or as you yourself put it "His regret is from getting suckered in to begin with." So that's your character in spades is it ?<p> <p>Vote McCain because he got suckered in the S&L Crisis !?!? The current Economic Crisis will certainly be safe in his hands !<p> <p>Or perhaps Vote McCain because he was a very close friend of Keating and recieved money and backing from Keating right up until until it was blatantly obvious he was up to his neck in S&L criminality ! Economic Foresight and judgement in spades!<p> <p>And McCain DID NOT reject Hagee and his endordsement UNTIL the Hitler and Holocaust remarks which still left McCain on the hook for the "Katrina is a punishment from God for a sinfull New Orleans" "called Harry Potter contemporary witchcraft" compared Catholicism to a "Great Whore" yet On April 20, 2008, while appearing on This Week with George Stephanopoulos and after criticizing Barack Obama's repudiation of Bill Ayers McCain said that it was "probably a mistake" to court and accept Hagee's endorsement, although he's still glad to have it. ONLY AFTER THE LUNATIC HOLCAUST AND HITLER THE JEW HUNTER views were pointed out to him did McCain FINALLY relent and say "I feel I must reject his endorsement as well."<p> <p>"Probably a mistake" indeed McCain. Judgement! Character! In spades !!

    by BringingSexyBack

    that he has in spades.

  • Tomorrow night at the debates going by McCains "strategy" to date he's going to roll the dice yet again and try for some insanely risky gamble.<p> <p>Palin was the first Gamble and it certainly isn't all win,win for him now is it ?<p> <p>Then against many staffers advice McCain left the Campaign and appeared erratic as he tried to play Politics with the Bailout which was Big Gamble number 2.<p> <p>So his back is against the wall and he will double up yet again for some kind of stunt or risky manouvre tomorrow night because THAT is his character.<p> <p>A "Maverick" only in the sense of the Wild West Gambling connotations. And right now with the Economy falling to pieces I doubt America will feel to comfortable with a Gambler.<p> <p>What will his Gamble be tomorrow ? Hard to say... He might just go attack, attack, attack and try and ignore the Economy which would be a HUGE Gamble except there's no WAY he can ignore the Economy.<p> <p>Will he bring it way down to this Ayres smear Bullshit and try and paint Obama as a "Terrorist" or "secret muslim" ? Again a MASSIVE gamble as that will probably make most moderates puke in disgust.<p> <p>Will he try and neutralize the Economy with some kind of crazy Bi-Partisan commission and ask Obama to stop mentioning it ? Sounds nutty but again I wouldn't rule it out.<p> <p>Will McCain spring a brand new policy announcement smack bang in middle of the debate ? Could be. Maybe some last gasp Gamble to find an eyecatching Economic Policy that doesn't seem tied to Bush's.<p> <p>We'll see, but Grumpy irascable attack McCain didn't go down too well last time remember and to be honest McCain would have to be spring something HUGE to either put Obama off his game or grab the Moderates in sufficient numbers at this stage.

    1) Obama: Married, never cheated. Loving father of two. <p> 2) McCain: Cheated with numerous women on crippled wife, leaving her to care - alone - for their 3 children. Met Cindy McCain, 17 years younger than he, applied for marraige license before divorce was final. Absentee father with a gambling habit. <p> 3) Joe Biden: To this day in mourning of death of first wife and daughter, devoted himself to injured sons as single father. Married a school teacher two years later, remained faithful to this very day. <p> 4) Sarah Palin: Cheated on current husband with his business partner. Forcing knocked up 17-year old daughter to marry neanderthal too stupid to put on a condom. <p> Ahhh ... how reassuring it is to be a Democrat.

    Bottom line...

    by Mr. Nice Gaius

...McCain's farce-of-a-pick for VP invalidates his candidacy for POTUS. Let me say that again: INVALIDATES. And now look at him - he's resorted to mudslinging and a now recognized attempt to portray Obama as a domestic terrorist. In essence, character assassination is the new order of the day and it's something McCain said he would never do (i.e. he would run a positive and honorable campaign). So, not only does he have piss poor judgment, he's a liar to boot.<P>It's over, Johnny.
