Pro-Wrestler added to cast of SCREAM 3' Tyler Mane talks about his role of Sabretooth in X-MEN!
Don't you just love all the wrestlers being thrown around for parts in movies. I mean... Not since Hulk Hogan (Rocky III) and Andre The Giant (The Princess Bride) and Roddy Piper (They Live) have I seen so many fine examples of male sports appear in film. Tyler Mane as Sabretooth... now this... What next?
Just in case you are curious, here's a LINK to a story at Marvel.Com that interviews Tyler Mane about his role in the X-MEN movie! Check it out!
Hey Harry....
I know you don't know jack about me and have
absolutely no reason to believe what i say, but i have quite a scoop for you
on Scream 3. See, i do work for a wrestling magazine and i have come across
some info in an interview with wrestling's current megastar "Stone Cold"
Steve Austin...it seems he will have a part in the new Scream film as the
sheriff or head policeman(not exactly sure) and will be partnering with
"Dewey" in the flick...believe it or not, this is what i hear...and when i say
Austin is a megastar i mean it...he has millions tuning in every monday nite
to watch his antics,so this could be a potential major acquisition for the
producers of the movie...just thought i'd drop in my little bit of
knowledge...peace

Is this confirmed? I heard this rumor about a year ago when "The Faculty" was being made.
-
I'd rather eat glass than see this bald headed fool in a movie. Stick to rolling around on a mat with men rather than pretneding you can act.
-
In my opinion, this is just a casting decision to get wrestling fanatics to see a film they otherwise may not. While I was looking forward to seeing this movie at one point, I'm starting to have a bad feeling that the Scream series is in a downward spiral.
-
I used to hate it, but dammit, I just got caught up in the soap opera (off WWF, WCW blows monkey chunks) I think Stone Cold is pretty entertaining, anyway, and seeing him hacked to death, or maybe even be the killer!! in Scream 3 would be WAY better than Universal Solider 2 they had him lined up for. So, rasslin' is cool and bring on Scream 3! Just remember: PIMPIN' AINT EASY!!!!
-
Stone Cold is a huge star in wrestling, but he is also a decent actor as well. Hell you have to be, to be successful in his biz. He has recently guest starred on a couple of Nash Bridges episodes and did quite well. Trust me, Stone Cold Steve Austin is not going to be playing Stone Cold Steve Austin in Scream 3. That is his normal self and his WWF character. In Scream 3 he will play the part given him, and do it well. And, that's the bottom line, cuz Stone Cold said so!
-
I find it so hard to believe that anyone is gonna bash for Stone Cold not being a good enough actor in a movie with Neve Cambell. Now dont get me wrong, she is one nice peice of ass, but come on, she cant act her way out of a box. The only thing she ever does is that staggered talking with accents on the end of the sentence. She is a terrible actor. But I love the Scream movies, they are entertaining as hell. But does anyone actually go to see a movie like Scream for the acting? I mean its not as bad as a movie like I Still Know..... That was downright unwatchable. As for Stone Cold, hey I'll give him a shot, maybe he'll be good in it. Maybe he'll play against his wrestling character. Who knows if this rumor is even true?
-
Everything over at IMDB seems to indicate this.. whats up with that?
-
ok STONE COLD is in a movie, like i didnt see that one coming, but what about DOINK??????? WHENS HIS FIRST ROLE COMING????? or GILBURG...GIIIIIIILLLBUUUUURG, how bout they put GILBERG in the movie as one of the scared teenagers, and then they put GOLDBURG in the movie, so the audiencce will figure, "oh, goldburgs obviously the killer cause he probly haaaates GILBURG" thats probly good cause it sorta drives your mind away from who the real killer is and keeps up with the whole SCREAM theme. MEESA ALSO WANNA SNAPPA INSA A SLIM JIM. SNAPPSA INTO ITTTTTT!!!!!
-
ok I'll admit I dig WWF and stone cold Steve Austin, Monday night is my night to let loose and just have fun for a couple of hours watching a couple of guys beat each other up. Now for my defense of wrestling and wrestlers, i don't hear anyone complaning about Roddy Piper or Andre the Giant in They Live or Princess Bride respectivly, in fact I think they showed quite a bit of acting chops(I'm not going to defend Hulk Hogan though) Why is that becasue it's not "just a bunch of guys with big musucles" there is elemnts of soap opera, and what I consider some of the best hand to hand stage combat I've seen, yes sometimes things get out of hand and yes th ings get over the top but comeon, nobody is actually saying that this is "real" or an actual sport, that's why it's called Sports entertainment, with an emphisis on the ENTERTAINMENT. And besides it's not like anybody is asking Steve Austin to do Shakespeare, it's a Horror movie for christsake.

The best way to make this work is for Mr. Austin to play it absolutely straight. Then it might have a chance to actually be funny and amusing. He and Dewey will make quite an odd couple on screen. Perhaps Mr. Austin will get killed by Mr. Ghostface, giving some character the opportunity to say, "He's stone cold dead." As long as he plays a very minor character, it shouldn't hurt the film.

Stone Cold as a town Sheriff ?
This bit of news just made up for Kevin Williamson's treasonous departure !!!!!!!!

First I said it yesterday that Stone cold would be in Scr3am. Now you guys have to know I'm a huge wrestling fan. Sure this guys are big monsters of guys and they have to act. Roddy Rod Piper is a alright actor, so was Andre the Giant. Stone Cold Proved that he can hang on Nash Bridges. He brought that show up in Rating. Maybe Willams and Craven saw this and Maybe their a little scary. Scary that maybe this movie would be as big as they hope. Wrestling huge right now and many people will come just to see Stone Cold, Plus that's free advertising on Monday Night Raw the biggest cable show ever. I think having him play a cop would work and having him play opposite David could be interesting. I hear Dewey's going to be in a wheelchair in this movie so maybe Stone Cold will be his arms and legs. Dewey could say, "Hey go check out that dark room" Stone Cold would go in and get killed. Another thing I always loved about the Killers in The Scream Movies is that their not Perfect. Remember Sidney Killed what's his name in the First movie by dropping a TV on His head. You couldn't do that to Jason or Freddy. Stone Cold would beat the crap out of the killer and then to knife could accidently going into Austins Chest. I think It would be funny seeing the killer limpping away. Ok I'm done here. Stone Cold I think would be better for this movie then maybe Neve Campbell yeah she's a big box office draw.

In response to "House" and the whole wheelchair bound Dewey thin
by rodzilla
That's really funny, HOUSE. Upon leaving the theater after seeing "Scream 2," I suggested to my friends that Dewey should play out the next film in a wheel chair, as his injuries escalate from film to film. As much as I loved Randy ( like everyone else), Deputy Dewey is my favorite character, and I'll see this next film just to witness the continuing adventures of Dewey. My idea would be to expand upon Dewey's "Scream 2" testimony that he often plays lame to more effectively deal with any given situation. I'd have him driving around in his wheelchair like "Ironside" until the final reel, when I'd have him stand up heroically, revealing his deception and suddenly attack the killer. I thought about him suddenly pulling some martial arts moves ( like the priest in "Dead Alive"), but that might be taking the camp one step too far for the hard-core horror crowd. They'll hate me for saying all this, but let's face it, this isn't going to be a hard-core, serious horror film. If we can't have fun with it at this point, we might as well just skip it.

..NOT I!!! It's bound to be a load of crap anyway, especially with the added bonus of a wrestler!!! The way I see it, the only way I'm going to enjoy a third and highly NOT needed Scream film (don't get me wrong, I liked the first one, and the second one was ok) is if they kill off both Neve Campbell and Courtney Cox's characters!!! and make it painfull too!! hehe! That would make me a happy Cheesy Bitch XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
-
so this movie is one of those knife thingeys?
-
Least we all forget Andy Kaufman was a wrestler too?
-
Any jabronie who says wrestling takes no talent and is so fake should be thrown into the ring with Stone Cold for a match. I mean, these guys take chair shots to the head and are constantly working hurt. Most "professional" athletes don't do that , there is no off season for them either. Besides, its not like a Scream film takes tremendous acting talent to be in. It's a smart business move, wrestling is hotter than ever and Austin will attract alot of wrestling fans to the film.
