See Jason From The FRIDAY THE 13th Remake Unmasked!!

Published at:  Sep 29, 2008 6:35:50 PM CDT

Merrick here...

HorrorBid snagged some behind-the-scenes images of what lies beneath Jason's hockey mask in the Michael Bay produced/Marcus Nispel directed FRIDAY THE 13th remake.

You can see them...

HERE!!!

We've seen Jason unmasked previously, always looking pretty scummy. Examples of previous Jasons-in-the-raw can be found HERE, HERE, and HERE (my favorite).

The first two images don't seem terribly far off from the "new" version. What do you think?

OK Jason has a bulbus head

    by dracula_wants_the_amulet

and it's not really his face you are seeing, it's a 3/4 hood with the false droopy eye area on the left side- so it looks droopy and retarded like in that area under the hockeymask, since Derek Mears doesn't not have a retard Droopy eye on that side. I otherwords- You, Me, and Everyone elese in here has not seen his face yet. Full on makeup vs a false eye area with a 3/4 bald cap is a whole nother beast! Youv'e seen the bladcap with a false eye area. That's it! Give's you no real idea of what his face will look like. - Hey I know the guy who sculpted the first mask image you posted too it's a departure from the part 4 thats based on it but not exactly and it's fan made. You should see some of the fan made part 4's out there. Nightowl and a few others have pretty much nailed exactly how it looked in that film.

    by jedirob

That's the actor literally without the hockey mask. I'm sure the actual prosthetic with be it's own thing. From the looks of it probably closest to Part 3. The New Blood Jason is definitely the most bad ass looking.

The best things from original were
    1. The Special Effects
    2.Bestsy Palmer
    3.The Henry Mancini Score.
Without any of those things that 1980 version wouldv'e been unheard of today let alone be re-made.

What is all the hype about his face?

    by kurdt420

We've seen Jason unmasked in alomst every installment. It's not his face that makes the film, It's his presents that does it. The hockey mask is much more intimidating than a deformed face. I miss the days when it wasn't about who the man behind the mask is, but more about what gruesome way is Jason going to kill these annoying campers. A machette to the face of a wheelchair bound teen is one of my favorites

Wait, so Jason is giving people presents?

    by jedirob

:P But seriously, I don't see any indication that this one is not about, or without crazy kills. Also pretty much every film has made a big deal about his face, usually it being revealed in the climax.

    Um...Am I missing something?....

    by cheif brody

In the ORIGINAL Friday the 13th...Jason was the VICTIM...NOT the VILLAIN!! His mom was the KILLER...Jason did not appear until the very END of the movie...and he was just in a DREAM(?) the lead actress was having...
Jason...as the KILLER...did not appear until Part II...and the hockey mask did not appear until Part III.
So...is this a remake of Part I, II or III?...Or...is it just an amalgamation of the first 3 installments?
If this is a Friday the 13th remake of the ORIGINAL...Jason AND the hockey mask shouldn't even be IN it!

  • Am I supposed to accept another bald Jason after those mullet pics had my adrenaline running? This is bullshit, I love these movies for how stupid they are, but do we really need another one of these in the theaters if they are just gonna rehash the same thing. They've already killed Jason in everyway imaginable and faced him against boxing, space weapons, telekenesis, an army ambush, and the list goes on. Without a new look and new edge, only the intoxicated will love this movie, not that there's anything wrong with that.

    by prunkhaft

that would be an awesome matchup, Jason vs. Swamp Thing. Hey folks, this thing could be good, I remember being sure that the DOTD remake would be awful, and while it wasn't great it certainly wasn't terrible. And I guarantee they're using the score...or some variation of it.

    by deanbarry

Yessir, it is indeed a remake-reimagining of the first three films. It starts with his mother being decapitated, his revenge and eventual masking. A lot of haters here, but I for one love me some good old fashioned Jason Carnage and look forward to this one.

jesus christ. Why pretend you are remaking the first one when you are obviously remaking part 3? Dipshits. I wonder if it will be as good as the other Patinum Tools remakes such as The Fog, TCM, The Hitcher, The Omen, Amityville and the rest of the HORRID SHIT THAT THESE FUCKING IDIOTS THAT MUST BE STOPPED keep turning out. And by "good" I mean "really fucking dreadful"

    new blood??!

    by huggerorange

He looked like shit in the new blood..what is everyone talking about? The meanest jason has ever looked was in the opening sequence of pt.6:Jason lives..that was a Perfect face prosthetic, no one has ever gotten it right since then. Granted, that was the beginning of zombie jason, but, there must some way to make him looking scary like that again. In part 7 he just looks like a beaten up frog, sorry guys. Progressively looked worse in 8,9, they didnt really reveal him in 10 or Freddy v. Jason.

I agree with Jedi rob; its not really jason without the mask. The new pictures are the opposite, just a half prosthetic for the actor so he can wear the mask. Hope they pull it off this time around.

The New Blood is my favorite because...

    by jedirob

It's not his face, which is never the most important, but the rest of him. I loved how he was all water logged from being stuck there since Jason Lives. You can see his spine, ribs and knee caps shining through. He has the chain around his neck. I like him in part 6 too, but this one was like, that costume but even more ragged. It's definitely some of the best make up work in the series. It's the one they usually make the toys of. And of course it was Kane Hodder's first time and he just nailed it. that heavy breathing he would do was the best. Somehow all his clothes repaired themselves by part 8. :P

    by cheif brody

They want to call it "Friday The 13th"...but...it's not.
It's like what they did with "Halloween: H2O"...Tried to reign it in and bring it back to basics. Fine...
But it STILL needs a moniker after the title...Why not "Friday The 13th: Re-Do...Not A Sequel!!!"...
    What the fuckin point?
