About that END OF DAYS image I ran...
You remember that production art/postery kinda thing I ran a whiles back? No? Well Click Here to Remember!
Anyway, I just talked to Peter Hyams a few minutes ago, and he assured me that that was the poster art we'll be seeing. Cool, eh? Also we talked a bit about the film. I had done some poking around, and had heard from someone that the movie felt quite scary, and he did say that that is what they are aiming for. He also said that what he was aiming to do was to make a different kind of Schwarzenegger film... One that was a great film that Schwarzenegger was in, but that isn't what we would commonly think of as an Arnold vehicle.
Next we talked a bit about the script by Andrew Marlowe. I've been a bit of a fan of that script, but thought that the draft I read needed a bit more to it. I met Andrew back at the AUSTIN FILM FESTIVAL & WRITER'S CONFERENCE last year, and he had told me that they were doing quite a bit of work to make the script less ACTIONY and more psychological and taut. Peter said that when they brought him aboard the project they were not just hiring a director, but a writer of 12 films as well. He said that when he came on there were specific changes that were going to be made or else he wasn't going to direct it... and the changes were made, specifically to the dialogue of the film.
All in all, I'd say Peter seems cautiously pleased with how things are going. He said in a "knocking on wood, I hate to say it" sort of way that what he has shown people has made them go "APESHIT" over the film, but the more of that he hears the more antsy he gets. I commented that he probably surrounds himself with wood to knock on, and he said, "If you knew me, you'd know just how superstitious I am."
Good, for a film about the End of the World... we need a superstitious sort of guy leading us down the path. This is definately a project we need to keep our eyes on...

MEESA THINK THIS IS ARNOLDS 5TH COMEBACK, HOPE HE STAYS WITH THE COOL MOVIES INSTEAD OF DOIN SOME OF THE LAME SHIT HEDS DONE FOR A WHILE, GOOD LUCK ARNOLD.
-
Arnold should stick to _Terminator_ because we all know he is the shittiest actor in the world. I stay away from Arnolds films as a rule (made one exception for _Batman_&_Robin_, and wanted to kill myself after seeing what that dipshit Schumacher did (that's a whole other frustration), but with Gabrielle Byrne playing Satan? I may just go see this movie. Byrne better have some kick ass dialogue. He's playing Satan for Christs sake!!

a lot more then I'm looking forward to Marty's "Dino"

In ref to the poster, I'm sure it is the real deal. I've seen that image all over official EOD places. If anybody has a SHOOTING COPY of the EOD script, talk to me. I'd like to see how it changed from the "right before hymans" copy that I have, and I'm sure I have something that I could trade you to make it worth your while. thanks.

yo, send me that script please!
this movie looks cool as shit, thou I hope it's not some lame religious ending. Once again i must say Fuck Jesus and the church and leave Mr. Smith and his badass movie alone. And leave Mr. Groenig alone. And leave every other fucking American citizen with a brain alone. GODDAMN YOU PPL! By the way, who do i call to give Jesus a handjob? I think he needs one. He has to be tired with all the protesting. Thank god we can have the Ten Commandments in the schools now. So in case I need to use the school bathroom, i can find some religious toilet paper on the wall to wipe my ass with. Long live Lavey! One question thou. If Kevin Smith is a Catholic, y does he sell Satan Speaks in his comic book store? I find that strange. Thou i thank him for doing so. Cuz Barnes and Assholes would never carry it. Rock on Kevin and Harry, woohoo. South Park in one week!!! -
Harry, you blew it on this one man. Ahhhnold requests that you spell his name the accurate way which is SCHWARZENEGGER. Thank you.

I was gonna say this on the last talkback in response, but it was ready to turn over. That image to the right of Arnie is *not* "somebody falling out of a window." It's something significantly more disturbhing (IMHO), and I'm glad they kept it from "my draft." (Sidenote: I sure wish that Hyams had been hiring at the time, since that was one of the many scenes that I was up for, and Marcus Nispel the tyrant was putting us on tape rather than be in the room with us because he *refused* to deal with us actor-cattle. Good riddance.). As for a little better idea what's really going on with that image of the person to the right of Arnie in the poster, the screensaver empahsizes that image, and gives a few more hints. Here's hopin' that Hyam's tweeks will prove to be the good stuff I anticipate they will be.

Does anyone know where i can get a copy of the screenplay?? Thanks in advance. -- Meaner

I can't wait to see Gabriel Byrne as Satan. Byrne is one of the coolest actors around and I am also looking forward to him in Stigmata. Ironic how Byrne is in two religious films playing a priest and the devil. Oh well, just glad to see him at work.

Stop talking about how shitty an actor Arnold is, we already know that, we've known that for years. Point is, it's a timely film to have out in the last few weeks before the end of the millenium. The trailor looks very exciting and spooky and you know that it will be a monster hit. It's coming out in November and I already can't wait.P.S, The Jar Jar Binks act is getting a little old buddy!

Hyams and John Carpenter need to get a room at the has-been dire
by fred4sure
How does someone that's been phoning in movies like Sudden Death, Time Cop and The Relic get to direct Arnie? Hyams was a pistol, once upon a time with films like Capricorn One and Outland, but these days he's a waste of resources and needs to be put out to pasture.

How typical here it is another pagan/goth wanna be slamming the catholic church. My god dont you have a life...Cant oyu come up with anything orignal..OHHH you wanta use the 10 comandmants as toilet paper ohhh thats so cutting edge in 1979. But with guys like you out there it makes be proud to be a Catholic knowing that just being me makes you so upset...Oh yes njsarchasm Kevin Smith Does SUCK hes a crappy filmaker that has to resort to cheap insults to make you fanboys show up and masterbate in the theatre waitng for Curt Cobain to raise again....Dogma will prove it....

Peter Hyams seems like he know's what he's talking about. I know he will give us another side of Schwarzenegger we never saw. I want END OF DAYS to scare the crap out of me and be as good a horror action film as PREDATOR. I hope the next trailer comes out in July so we can get more super cool images from it. Less action and more psychological and taunt is a good way to play with Arnold's image. He'll get back to basics when he does a Cameron film like TRUE LIES 2 or WITH WINGS AS EAGLES anyway. Th poster art was cool so I can't wait to see it in a movie theater with the last name: SCHWARZENEGGER on it. I have waited 2 long years to see my hero back in action and I am VERY EXCITED. I can't wait to be watching EOD and see the scene where Arnold is fighting those Satan worshiping goons in the rainy dark street (the scene is on the teaser trailer). Arnold is BACK and this time, WITH A VENGENCE. "For thousands of years you have awaited my return, behold you have failed"---A quote from Gabriel Byrnes as SATAN.

I will make this short- What You wrote makes us people who doesnt have issues with the church feel like- "mayby we should make those religiuos freeks vanish, just pretend they are not there" and do you know why? You do not respect other peoples right to have a different oppinion the You!!!
And where I am from, that is just not right.
