From the Director of JOE VERSUS THE VOLCANO comes DOUBT trailer!

Hey folks, Harry here... Am I the only one that loves JOE VERSUS THE VOLCANO? I remember at the time it seemed critics decided that it was the nerdy kid with a pocket protector on the school bus of cinema, but dammit... I've always liked geeks - and JOE VERSUS THE VOLCANO was solid fun geek cinema. I loved the look and feel of the film, the wacky sense of being. Yet it also had a sadness. Then there was the greater glory of flourescent lights sucking Joe's soul. Brilliant. Accurate. True. Anyway, the fella that directed that film was John Patrick Shanley - his only directorial effort was JOE VERSUS THE VOLCANO - but his fingertips sculpted a series of pretty damn good films with movies like MOONSTRUCK, THE JANUARY MAN and ALIVE - along with the script for JOE VERSUS THE VOLCANO. His last big scrip was CONGO - a film that the mere mention of makes me think of Taco Bell Watches, an Ape with a Nintendo Power Glove - and Volcano monkey death... which just gets me to giggling. Well - it seems that John has decided to come out with something... COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the work he's done before. DOUBT is a movie from Miramax... an awards-minded project it seems, that stars Meryl Streep as a Nun from Hell (it seems) and Philip Seymour Hoffman as Father Flynn - a priest that may or may not have abused a young struggling black member of the church. The trailer does a great job of creating a "who did what when and where" type of feeling, while also showing off Hoffman's awesome chops and the Bette Davis direction of Meryl Streep's career. Check out the Trailer in Glorious Quicktime HD!
