Get A Look At Some Art (And More) From Terry Gilliam's THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS!!

Published at:  Sep 13, 2008 6:13:44 PM CDT

Merrick here...

Quick Stop Entertainment has posted a trailer/marketing reel for Terry Gilliam's THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS.

It features voluminous concept art from the film, a shot of Heath, and a few words from Mr. Gilliam.

You can find the video...

HERE!!!

The film's official site is HERE.

Word is Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell (all stepping into Ledger's role) contributed their earnings from this film to Ledger's daughter Matilda upon learning that Heath's will had been drawn-up before she was born (it wasn't updated to reflect her inheritance). This is about as as classy as classy can be, as far as I'm concerned. Good show, gentlemen...

It's not as if you were forced to click on the article. If you already knew what it said, then skip over it. - If I see a report on the news at 11 and then see the same thing in the paper the next morning, I don't write into the editorial section saying that they should have delivered that artical to me last night. I just skip over the artical. ANYWAY, it's also not as if you are PAYING the site for the most up to date info. You are visiting a free site. by tallboy66

I've always believed that Dark Knight probably got an extra 100 mil just for Heath's "Last" (well, full) performance alone, so I'm thinking people will turn out of this one enough to at least make some cash back, which may actually be a first (aside from 12 Monkeys, which I'm pretty sure made some bread).

is quite a talented actress, herself.

i never watched dawson's creek, but i remember liking her from the first performance i saw her give. and, being surprised that i liked her. then, i saw brokeback...and she is just fantastic in that movie.

i also get the impression that heath ledger didn't command a salary like clooney. he only did 3 movies after his oscar nomination. (i'm not there, TDK, and imaginarium) i can't imagine "imaginarium" footing a 15 million dollar tab for ledger's name, epsecially since this is the second film gilliam and ledger have done together. ledger seemed to be more interested in the role than the check.

i doubt his parents are fucking over his daughter, financially.

also, michelle williams is no "courtney love"...that girl will be around for a while. she's gorgeous and talented. mathilda will be better provided for than all of us.

I don't know. He sure is a one of a kind filmmaker, but as a storyteller he just doesn't cut it. This again looks like a bloated-overstuffed madcap quirky film that's all about ideas but again you won't give a fuck about any of the characters at all. If ever there was a filmmaker who deserves a home run

    by dreamfasting

Terry Gilliam is such a unique voice - there are very few people that just jam a prybar into your imagination and pop it open like he does. Time Bandits, Baron Munchhausen and the Fisher King are three films I find myself watching at least once a year.

    Reply to Talkback

  • In interviews Terry seems a level headed intelligent and funny guy, but he just doesn't seem to be able to put a film together without a major studio bust -up or his lead actor dropping dead.Other directors don't seem to have half these problems .Tim Burton seems to be closest in style and tone to Gillian and bringing the same kind of fantasy to life , and he doesn't appear have any of this whacky chaos during a shoot. It's like Gillian is either totally uncompromising in bringing his vision to the screen , ignoring everything , including commercial chances and budget restraint .Or he's under some sort of gypsy curse !!!Ever since B .Munchausen, even his simpler projects, seem to spiral out of control, within minutes of the camera roling. That said his M.Python animations were genius and I do dig his stuff { I even liked B.Grimm }This latest one looks like some sort of B.Munchhausen/Willy wonka Hybrid.Does anyone know what exactly the film is about???Finally Tom watts is the man!

First actor I have ever been able to actually say that. Sure, there have been a lot of great ones pass on and have really bummed me out but not in the way Heath's death has. WAY too young. He was such a great talent. And, yes, I did feel this way long before his Joker. His portrayal as The Joker had better earn him the Oscar. After watching TDK again last night (on my iPhone : ) I am really amazed at how, with every viewing, his performance in TDK was as good as anything I have ever seen. Oscar caliber performace for sure IMO.R.I.P. Heath Ledger

What in the hell kind of medieval law is that?

by shut the fuck up donny

Georgia is by no means a progressive state and WE have "Year's Support", making sure a widow and children get their share of the deceased's funds regardless of what the will says (and contrary to its name, it's for more than a year's worth of money). Where was Heath a resident of, and does anybody have input on how they usually address such issues? The lawyer in me just boggles at this!

    Classy maybe.

But seriously, I guess Heath is related to the Bales? Does whoever ended up with his inheritance not give a shit about his daughter? And I guess Dawson Creek reruns aren't earning as much as they used to? Plus aren't Colin/Deep/Law (well maybe only Deep) working for cheap for this role? Deep is one of the highest paid actors in the world. WOOO HOOO? Why don't they just make a commercial begging me to give up my money.

    As for this movie

I love Gilliam to death, but my god Brothers Grimm was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I don't know how it was sooooo boring, but it felt like time stood still while I was watching it.
