TIFF: El Giante finds a DEADGIRL strapped to a theater chair and does ungodly things to her...

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I've already begun my Fantastic Fest scheduling and one of the flicks that caught my eye was DEADGIRL. Seemed interesting and after reading the below review from El Giante I'm even more psyched to see it. Comparing the flick to TEETH is enough for me. I loved TEETH... in fact, I need to pick up that DVD... Anyway, here's El Giante with his full review!

Hello again, thanks for posting my last review. Today was a good day with Detroit Metal City, Vinyan, The Ghost (Russian hitman thriller, pretty solid... wait for the Scorsese remake in 2010) and ending with the midnight screening and World Premiere of Deadgirl. Deadgirl is a very special little movie based on a couple of burnout friends who discover a naked and seemingly dead girl in a boarded up asylum (you never know what you'll find in those things). After the initial shock of the discovery the friends find themselves having differing opinions on what to do next: tell somebody or fuck her while they can. The dead girl happens to be very sexy (but has horrible taste in music as heard here). Just so happens the girl has got some life in her, and even when killed by accident she keeps coming back. And since she's strapped down to a table and not technically living some seem to think it's okay to give her a go as many times as you like. But of course when a deal is that sweet word gets out and the good times must come to an end. An end that features a good amount of blood, high school crushes and figuring out how to protect the things you love. I don't want to give too much away, but there's a healthy mix of absurdity, slacker humour, nudity and some good scares (all very good things right?) It reminded me a fair bit of Teeth in how it took a pretty taboo & extreme subject matter but presenting it in a pretty light way. This is pretty high on charm which lets you over look some of the acting and flaws. It's fun, it's fresh and it's well worth checking out. Sincerely from el norte, El Giante
