Strap In For A Red-Band Taste Of James Marsden In SEX DRIVE!

"SEX DRIVE? Really!?!?"
Yeah, man. Really. It's just refreshing to see a teen sex comedy striving for THE SURE THING when most movies chasing that demographic nowadays would settle for ROAD TRIP. I mean, you don't walk into a movie called SEX DRIVE expecting the raunchiness to be offset by a Hughes-ian sweetness (and, yes, I'm aware Hughes had nothing to do with THE SURE THING; it's an evoking-the-era thing), but writer-director Sean Anders somehow pulls it off.
Though Anders's film wouldn't have a shot in hell of working without its three appealing leads (Josh Zuckerman, Amanda Crew and Clark "I want to bring back Chevy Chase" Duke), Anders gets huge assists from two very funny ringers: Seth Green and James Marsden. Obviously, Green's done this kind of thing before, but Marsden might surprise those who thought he'd retreat to pretty boy roles after clowning it up in HAIRSPRAY and ENCHANTED. Not a chance. Marsden's found his calling. And while I liked him in those other two movies, he's outdone himself as an outrageously obnoxious big brother in SEX DRIVE. The man is a spectacular ass.
The trailer gives you a pretty good idea of what Marsden's up to, but this extended red-band clip should leave no doubt. Bill Paxton must be proud.

I don't think I've ever seen a more homophobic clip in my life. This is what passes for cool news these days? Yikes. If this movie turns out to suck I am going to seriously question the credibility of this site and some of its editors.

The filmmakers are obviously advocating Marsden's point of view in this clip. We've made an egregious error in judgment. Time to cancel that L.A. screening.

I don't understand why harry is so selective these days about what films he choses to review, i mean its not like we're asking for a lot! Especially after some of the ass kissing reviews iv'e read lately of his! What the fuck does he do with all his time anyway? I can't believe he had anything positive to say about The mummy, in my mind one of the shittest films ever, Rob Cohen needs to disappear up his own ass.

I've been saying that for a while. The man looks like a cartoon. He's career didn't pick up after X-men like Hugh Jackman's, it's burning slower, but it'll last longer. I just don't want to see him as the "the nice guy, who the hero has to steal the girl from" role again.

It's so unrealistic in this bastion of tolerance we call PLANET FUCKING EARTH. Things like that, violence, racism, sexism, lust are all fictional elements and should NOT be portrayed in film because then the film automatically becomes science fiction or something, because that stuff don't happen here, no sir!

I don't know what Harry does either but honestly what movies are out there that require faithful reviews. I think Harry on some level is a "brand" at this point and so is ain't it cool news. Brand in the sense of Stephen King being a "brand" although not quite that big or successful. In other words, AICN has taken a life of its own, and Harry will contribute when he wants but I think this site will go on with or without his reviews. Some of his reviews are a little immature and I don't always agree with them, but at this point, this site just gets the "flavor", (if you will) of Harry every once and a while. Maybe he'll contribute more often in the future but at this point does he really need to. Or maybe he doesn't feel he needs to. Or I could be overestimating AICN and Harry but that's what I think is going on here.

If the pacing and writing of each scene is akin to that clip I just saw, then I can't for the life of me understand why anyone writing for this site would, in good faith, attempt to endorse this movie.
