MY NAME IS BRUCE One-Sheet Splashes Online!
Hey folks, Harry here... I'm not ashamed to say - I have an unhealthy obsession with Bruce Campbell. I completely can't get enough of the mighty Bruce. I love his loving arrogance - the way he swaggers - the way he drawls his words - and most of all... I love his smart ass.
That said - the following poster and trailer do absolutely nothing new for me.
Yup, before I saw them, I was obsessed with seeing this movie - and after I saw em, I was obsessed with seeing this movie. So basically... I'm obsessed with seeing this movie.
I do think it is fairly awesome to see actors like Bruce Campbell and Jean Claude Van Damme making movies (MY NAME IS BRUCE & JCVD) where they play themselves as characters in a film faced with a "real life" stereotypical Bruce Campbell / Van Damme situation facing them... minus stuntmen and the "fakery" of visual effects. This just looks like a blast!

Kind of a BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA groove goin' on in that poster. Hmmm.
-
I can't wait!
-
I kinda like the cheesy one sheet. The trailer doesnt look too hot though. http://tinyurl.com/pv8do
-
doesn't look that good to me. at all.
-
I love Bruce! Burn Notice is the Shit! Why does this site not cover that great show is beyond me.
-
...was in Evil Dead 1-3, then did fuck all else worth watching, except maybe Bubba Ho-Tep. Get over it.
-
What a shameless ripoff.
-
must be a great day in the comic book shop... =0p
-
... but in a good way. I think it will be panned for not being cool enough but I expect it will be entertaining on a Friday night.
-
I tried. Once. But the leading man was the bastard from HITCH. He was so good at that movie that I hate him since than. Oh, well.
-
The entire thing should just be the chin actually.
-
I read it that way before clicking thinking it was a remake.
-
HAHAHAHA! That is the funniest thing i have ever heard. But I believe it. The man is great in the show. He plays a different character every week while undercover and all he does is change his body language and voice it's very convincing.
-
that's what i'm talkin about.
-
How long have we been waiting for this now?
-
I've loved Bruce Campbell since my first drunken Freshmen dorm screening of "Evil Dead" back around 1986. Who else could make a grown man buy his first Old Spice product since junior prom? I met him once before "Army of Darkness" was released at a Fangoria con in Chicago and again at a mall here in Kentucky while promoting "The Adventures of Brisco Co." (avaible on dvd from Warner Bros wherever finer dvds are sold). Sadly, I was young and a bit star struck, and probablly babbled something incoherent. Thankfully, he didn't call security. He's a talented actor with a singular sense of humor that can even shine amid a million dollars worth of special effects in the "Spider-man" films. I look forward to his home-grown project, "My Name is Bruce," and hope it's going to be a secret AICN screening at Fantastic Fest, where I will be in couple of weeks!
Congrats, Bruce. -
I think he's jumped the shark, or zombie, whatever is appropriate. This is very self aware, whether its good or not (or whatever the heck its about) is another thing all together.
-
Shameless ripoff? Have you even SEEN "They Call Me Bruce?"? The only thing the two movies (and their titles) have in common is the name "Bruce". Idiot.
-
I loved "They Call Me Bruce". That was some special flour! "With my left foot, I'll kick your nose!"
-
I'm totally going to watch this. Is it coming out in wide release or is this going to be DTV? either way I'm there. I'd also really really want them to do a sequel to Bubba Hotep. That would be the best. Bruce baby, make it happen!
-
He was really nice, I must've been one of the few people to call him Mr. Campbell when I met him. I hope he writes another book about his experiences in showbiz. Oh and Burn Notice is frakking awesome.
The My Name poster is ok, but it looks like they photoshopped his picture in at the last second.
GFY -
I still love "They Call Me Bruce?". (The sequel however, "They STILL Call Me Bruce" was pretty awful.) Maybe cause I was such a fan I knew these two were nothing alike?
-
Is had a contest to design the poster. Im sure there are tons of talented folks who would take a crack at it, and we'd get something better than that thing. Just sayin
-
cannot wait....

the yellow/font/design on the one sheet is the same as...
by future help
the Man with the Screaming Brain.
-
I probably do too since I feel in love with the Evil Dead back in 82 but where's the audience for this? Except you Harry!
-
"My name is Bruce."
"Then you must know kung fu."
Naah. -
According to his website he will be at Fantastic Fest showing this movie. Can't wait to come to Austin in a few weeks!
-
But that poster is possibly the worst piece of Photoshop Crap I have seen in... well, ever.
Can't be worse than The Man With The Screaming Brain, though. Now, that was bad. -

That's what I get for using a fancy word.
-
That's what it looks like.
-
Seriously, what is this? Photoshop friday on the SA forums? This looks fan made.
-
Bulgaria and, what's it? The other -garia? Hungaria? Yes, it looks like shit and no, I don't care one jolly good damn. And that Taco Bell Big Bell Box is an amazing value for your $4.94 + tax.
-
If this movie looks awful to you, you think poster is crap, and that doesn't make you want to see it even more, then you don't get Bruce.
-
(sigh) I love me some Bruce though. I'll even bite the bullet and watch this, which looks like his '3 Amigos.' (And by 'watch' I mean 'netflix')
-
I think InspectorDoppler is spot on. If this movie rips off anything, it'll be Amigos. Or maybe Fright Night.
-
The poster shot of him is his BN character. Looking forward to this.
-
yeah cause They Call Me Bruce is so beloved and everything.
-
Feels like it was finished years ago.
-
is the greatest book on an acting career ever written, pulls no punches. It's also one of the best on low-budget film making and the Bruce's childhood section is an absolute hoot. Everyone should read this book. I am not Bruce Campbell.
-
Ted Raimi rules 123,536,553,942 of ass.
-
They could have done so much better with this movie poster. I'm sure there are talented artists who would love to try something.
-
..I'm about to.
Having scanned the talkback first though - Jesus P. Christ. For those complaing about the look of the poster or what I am about to see - You inconsiderate mutha-fuckers. What were you expecting?
Let me tell you - If you mocking this, the joke is on you. You are the badly photo-shopped poster. You are the fucking clown shoes.
Jeses. Never did I think I'd see the day where a Bruce Campbell film about Bruce Campbell playing himself fighting evil would open to such abuse...
Cunts.
Long live Bruce and those who would stand behind him in battle.
...cunts. -
Firing back and shooting the townfolk as he retreats...
Leg-end. -

re: Fanboys...do you STILL really want to see an Evil Dead 4?
by iamlegolas
Not anymore, that ship has sailed, unfortunately.
-
...now have a rather nifty poster for a funky looking little film called 'My Name Is Bruce' as their wallpaper?
I'd hope so - cos otherwise - what are me and The Affleck trying to save? -
...silly but fun. And Bruce's character has developed better in season 2.
-
Bruce Campbell is the new Robert Wagner.
-
Yes, Riley Martin, I wouldn't mind seeing a fat, greying Ash waddling around at all. Why does Ash have to be thin, dark haired and non-waddling? Ash is Ash, I don't care how much he weighs, what color his hair is, or how he walks.
And why exactly, IAmLegolas, do you think the Evil Dead 4 "ship has sailed"? As Inigo Montoya might say, "I do not think that phrase means what you think it means." Campbell's still alive. Raimi's still alive. If either of them were dead, I might agree. But they're not. So I don't.
-
Something tells me that Harry is not watching it though?
-
Posted at my blog first. Scooped ya!

for another Re-animator movie. That is what I want to see. Two great B-Movie legends.
-
You have to be a TRUE fan of the Campbell to appreciate this. Everyone else bugger off.

Bruce is not quite ready to pass the torch/chin
by shut the fuck up donny
but when the day comes, I say he should pass it to Nathan Fillion. That man is 100 different types of awesome and is totally cut from the same fabric as Bruce.
-
As god as my witness, I thought this post was about the movie, "They Call Me Bruce?"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084786/
-
on "Burn Notice".
-
...it's a shame to see Bruce "Shatnerize" himself as he has for the past few years. Those Old Spice commercials were excruciating, his appearances in the (ahem) "Spider-Man" films are embarassing, Bubba-Ho-Tep was a real disappointment, and now this. I think the REAL Bruce is off in the wilderness along with the REAL Mel, the REAL Clint, and the REAL Kurt Russell, killing things, having lots of women, and living their lives out of the spotlight.
Oh well. -
I thought this was a remake of that flick when I first saw this title.
-
Bruce's website says he will be at 2 screenings on Sat Sept 20 for FF, but it's not listed on their website. What gives?
-
Seriously - a 2nd grader with photoshop could have knocked that up in 2 minutes! With who the hell Bruce is, you could have seriously gotten away with something way better- hell, The poster for the Gauntlet would do- just photoshop Bruce's head onto Clint's body and you're getting there. MUST TRY HARDER NOW GO AND TRY AGAIN
-
Nerds should not write scripts.
-
Anyone notice that they're making Bruce look younger this season?
-
oh, and it also looks like it sucks shit.
-
cant wait to see this movie!!
-
Most underrated, unused, unloved actor ever, period.
-
Since you like Bruce Campbell so much I am surprised there is no Burn Notice coverage. Oh, and watch Supernatural, Harry. It's the bomb. I still hope the Supernatural people will succeeded in getting Bruce Campbell for a guest role.
-
And he kicks many asses in Burn Notice. Truly, Bruce is Boss. - GS
-
Heck, I love me some Bruce Campbell, I'll see it.
My little buttercup... -
All hail Ash Williams!
-
I can't believe no one has mentioned Galaxy Quest.
From the trailer it looks like the same premise(sp?). An actor pretends to kill monsters with his fans for money. A real one shows up and he thinks its a gig. -
That is the equation. This will rock even if it sucks. And it Will suck. Why? "Starring Ted Raimi...and Ted Raimi." Bring on the unfunny schtick, double-time, people!
-
I didn't see Van Dam anywhere in the trailer.
But this looks like some bad funny, maybe Bruce will get off his high horse and finally make Bubba Nosferatu: Curse of the She-Vampires. -
Can't wait to see it. Bruce is da man!
-
All hail Bruce!
-
the actually movie looks like campy fun or just complete shit either way its a netflix instant view while the wife is asleep. (yea you know it will be on there)
-
That can't be the best that they could come up with...
-
I know the film looks kind of cheap and cheesy (like the poster), but, what the hell, it's Bruce, and he's riffing on his great contribution to cinema. How can it not be good?
-
Enough for me.
-
Who cares if he moves slow and the laughs are strained, it's a whole new boatload of one-liners I get to laugh at and spew out to people who don't get it, which just makes it funnier. Hooch for the pooch? Gold!
-
would be a hell of a guy to sit around smoking a bunch of weed with.
-
Is Johnny Yune still alive?
-
I'M IN.
-
if Michael bay ever decides to make a magnum P.i movie Bruce would be perfect in the "Magnum" role (he just needs the 'stache that made us all question our sexuality)
-
They should do it as a requil. What I mean is, have a new group of kids go up to that cabin in the woods. On the way they stop at S-MART where they meet manager ASH, metal hand and all, who warns them to "stay away from that cabin". Of course they ignore him and much carnage ensues. In the end things look grim for the remaining survivors who are surrounded by candarian demons. Suddenly, ash CRASHES through the side of the cabin in his oldsmobile to save the day (like grandpa in the lost boys).
