The project is directed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, both scripters of BAD SANTA. The fim's plot is described thudsly by THIS ARTICLE at Wiki:
based on the real life events of con artist and impostor Steven Jay Russell. While incarcerated, Russell fell in love with his cell mate, Phillip Morris. After Morris was released from prison, Russell escaped from prison four times in order be reunited with Morris.

He was in a much better movie before those called....Trainspotting.
To be on topic though this movie feels like its trying to profit off of the huge talk over "Brokeback Mountain". Or it could just be a drama about some gay guys, since the idea isn't really patented. But to me it seems like its trying to be a Brokeback Mountain (and it most definitely won't be as good as it I'm guessing). -
but at least he tries different things instead of assaulting us twice a year with retarded cookie cutter comedies like Jack Black or Will Ferrell. I think it's refreshing to see a talented comedien branch out. And I know Ferrell did Stranger Than Fiction. But that was about it. Oh yeah, Black did King Kong. But when was the last time anybody whipped that DVD out?

Honestly, Ledger's performance in Brokeback easily stands as one of the greatest this decade. And if you put aside all homophobia its a fairly tragic story. -
