Ratner Talks BEVERLY HILLS COP 4 Rating & Timeframe!! But How Many $$$s Are Needed To Drag Eddie Back??

Merrick here...

Early last month, Brett Ratner did an interview with MTV regarding BEVERLY HILLS COP 4.

A particular quote in the interview lead many to the logical conclusion that the new BHC project would have a considerably softer tone/rating than its predecessors.

When asked what is biggest challenge would be, Ratner seemed to indicate that his new film would be geared towards a very PG audience.

Want a peek into the mind of Jodorowsky's KING SHOT?

Hey folks, Harry here... sigh... excuse me... tonight I'm working on my DVD column, after a post-coital glow from watching BENJAMIN BUTTONS and cooling down by writing to the action of 4 DIE HARD movies in the glow of my Christmas tree... when I get an Instant Message from Rav. Rav is one of these fanboy creatures that finds the most amazing things and forwards them on to me. This time - it was a simple YouTube link.

1st image of GAMBIT from the WOLVERINE movie hits... lower your expectations...

Hey folks, Harry here... I've never been the biggest Gambit fan, but I've always respected the character's immense fanbase. Sadly, I'm afraid fans of Gambit will be about as satisfied as VENOM fans were by SPIDER-MAN 3 when they see next summer's WOLVERINE. And I think that disappointment will begin when Gambit fans click on the below link - and then later when they realize that he has a very small part in things... but maybe that's good... if he's forgettable here... perhaps he can be done justice easier later on. Right? Maybe?

Seems There's A New SPEED Project Zooming Around Out There...And It May Not Be A Remake!?!?

Merrick here...

In some elusive past I can't seem to access with search engines, we heard rumblings that Fox wanted to drag the SPEED franchise out of retirement;. Do two films constitute a "franchise"?.

It was generally assumed this would be accomplished via re-imaginings, remakes, and so forth - 'cause that's pretty much the way stuff like this shakes out these days.

Capone puts Oliver Platt in the hot seat about FROST/NIXON!!!

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here.

Here's the thing about Oliver Platt: Any movie or TV show that he's in, even the worst piece of crap under the sun, is going to be good for at least the stretches of time that Platt is on screen. I don't want to oversell the guy, but he has never put forward a bad performance in anything. Just seeing his face on screen makes me smile, and when he opens his mouth, he makes me laugh.

ScoreKeeper Says Goodbye To Composer Irving Gertz...

ScoreKeeper here to pay respect to a monster composer, Irving Gertz, who passed away on November 14th, 2008, in Los Angeles, California. He was 93.

If you’re a connoisseur of drive-in monster flicks, science-fiction pulp, or classic cult horror films, then chances are your ears were treated to the music of Irving Gertz. An amazingly prolific, yet often uncredited composer, Gertz’s music accompanied the screams of many hapless victims in films including THE ALLIGATOR PEOPLE (1959)...
