Nuff said bout this show.
-
Way to be scooped by Yahoo, which had the story hours ago...
-
And then followed the white rabbit."
-
Better than most of the stuff on tv.
-
As long as he wears angle length crocodile jackets, Im sure he'll fit right in.
-
I very enjoy Fishbourne in anything he does. One of the better actors around today. This is a step up for 'CSI." Worthy of watching.

amirite?
-
Probably not.
-
good luck to Larry and the show. i never really liked CSI, but the ratings it gets kind of tell the story. at least they are not slumming it and have got a Grade A actor to carry on with the show.

John Stamos?

Now they need to cast Hugo Weaving as a villian for a story arc.

No one can be told what CSI is, you must act in it yourself...

seriously weakass.

I actually think this is a great move. Laurence Fishburne is a super actor when given good material, and CSI will provide places for him to go.
I'm not the biggest "CSI" fan in the world, but since reruns of it have run on Spike, I've come to appreciate its milieu. The scripts and production values are always of high quality, and a few episodes actually deal with really scary shit. The nature of sadism and masochism is talked about, even. How often do you get that on other prime time shows?
I hope they give Laurence some good stuff to sink his teeth into, and I'll definitely tune in. -
...police procedural, forensic science, hospital drama or Courtroom cases...so I pretty much only watch Lost, Heroes and The Office.
I've heard that 24 is fantastic though...I'm gonna wait till the series ends and then just buy the whole series. -
is Larry Fishburne? Never heard of him. Is he related to Lawrence?
-
When was the last time Fishburne was even moderately interesting in anything? He's not a bad choice, just a letdown. Think how cool Keaton could have been.

Lawrence Should Reprise His Role as Cowboy Curtis
by alice cooper stalker
I love Lawrence as Cowboy Curtis on Pee-Wee's Playhouse. My kids love him too. Lately, Pee Wee has been talking about getting the playhouse gang back together for a movie. Paul Reuben has implied that Lawrence has been reluctant to commit.
-
I don't see how that could have worked at all
-
The battle of best sunglasses and one-liners is joined.
-
Seems like CBS is playing it safe with this choice, he is a good actor and has that special quality that you need for a CSI show. He can deliver a line of techo-babble or pseudo religious bullshit in a monotone voice that is convincing and believable. I really don't see Lawrence bringing anything new to the CSI franchise.
I actually enjoyed the first few seasons of CSI and only started losing interest in the show when William Petersen started take longer breaks from the show and began to take a backseat to his less talented costars. -
I gave up on CSI after the third season. I really enjoyed the first two, but buy the end of three, it was just getting old. Worst of all is the completely over-the-top exposition-speak: "I don't know who did it yet, but by resequencing all available DNA transfers through my spikrotechtrometer, we'll reconfigure the alleles and create a composite interpolation that will allow our algorithms to rule out our possible suspects." Thanks for cluing the audience in. Fishbourne is a fine actor, but he has to be thinking pay day here, because this show has jumped the shark, done another lap, and is now approaching for a second jump.
-
Larry Fishburne gotta eat?? He's was great in the Matrix and criminally under used in the sequels. Does nobody want to hire LF anymore? CSI is like a dead end job for actors.
-
hopefully he'll dance that tune ONCE more!
-
Ooooh. Interesting choice.
-
That is all.
-
but the 9th season was only 3 or 4 episodes, so does it even count as a season?
-
Or "It Is Official!!", if you want to be more formal.
-
Malkovich.
-
So, how bad does it get after season 3? A relative who still watched it as of a few years ago was telling me that they were starting to get into personal relationship among the CSI team and stuff. Bleh. Plus, David "I'm-scrawny-and-a-goon-but-listen-to-my-tough-voice-and-bow -before-my-piercing-stare" Caruso added some extra ridiculosity to whole the franchise.
-
Fishburne is great, I was hoping Gary Sinise would 'transfer over'. CSI New York is, by far, the weakest of the 3 CSIs. But, Sinise is the best lead of the three.
David Caruso is irritating. His character has to be the center. Caruso's idea of serious acting is to talk slow and take himself very seriouosly.
Gary Sinise standing still without moving has more acting force than Horation & Grissom combined. -
IS A BRILLIANT IDEA!!! CALL CBS IMMEDIATELY!!!

Man, Morpheus is gonna fuck up some poor sucker's shit just because he forgot to wash his hands and ditch the murder weapon.

Everyone got liposuction prior to filming of The Matrix
by grandmufftarkin
It's true. That's why Curtis got fat between 1 and 2. Too much Tasty Wheat, evidently.
-
CSI is where good movie actors go to have their careers die.
-
apparently
-
but it seems like a LOT of change is happening WAY too fast on this show. Jorja last season in the beginning, Gary at the end of it and now Bill halfway through this one. I love Larry but Bill's fingerprints are all over that show (literally). Without him i think much of the feel will be lost and it will gravitate towards Miami and NY levels of crap-dom.
-
and didn't really understand why. Then I saw an episode on Spike while I was in hospital. The episode was probably from season five, maybe four even, and every single member of the CSI unit was running around in black. Even Grissom, who was always a blue shirt and khaki windbreakerj sort, was wearing a very dark shirt and a red-on-black plaid jacket with such dark red it was difficult to see from across the room. "CSI" was never supposed to be cool. That was the whole point. Nick and Warrick and Catherine may have tried to be cool, but the nature of the job and the things we had to watch they do blocked coolness. Grissom and Sara didn't try to be cool. But somewhere along the line, not long after "Miami" came along, I guess the powers that be decided cool was the rule.
Farewell, Petersen. I will watch "Manhunter" in your honor, several times.
"Now it's just you and me, sport." -
... things we had to watch THEM do ...
Harry, would it kill you to hire dockfalken back so you can create an edit function? -
the problem with an edit system in talkback. is talkbackers will go back and edit their post and deny what they said
-
And there is no honor here.
-
yawn.
-
you know its happening, dont deny the possibility.
-
CSI worked hard presenting the cool factor, they sort of mocked the idea that science and stuff like that is for nerdy weird types, but on CSI they dress in cool fashion, good-looking, even an ex-stripper, can they be anymore blunt about it? of course maimi upped the ante
-
Morpheus will kick their asses....
-
CSI NY is the only one I watch regularly. Melina Kanakaredes is hot.
-
And I am not watching any procedurals. Why do I know this? Why????????
-
... omosis probably. Information about 'popuplar' culture is in the virtual atmosphere (internet/TV/etc) thicker than a Beijing fog ...
-
Um..you all hate the show...and yet its on its 10th season...which means it has fans...which means your opinion is in the minority..which means no-one gives a shit. It is a solid show - some good episodes some bad...it has spawned 2 other shows...I see nothing worng with it and so long as it doesn't have britney fuck-face-bad-mother-junkee-slut spears doing a cameo...all good with me! Seriously...it ticks the right boxes...you can dip in and out...whats wrong with that?
-
am I missing out on something?
-
And you will have free time to watch something worth watching.
-
because I don't know him at all and as such there are no reprecussions from addressing him in the familiar...
-
You know you want it UK'ers
-
in Hi Def!! Yipee!! Maybe Edward James Olmos and Robert Davi can guest star.BTW, the Goldblum comment earlier reminded me of Deep Cover, a pretty good flick, I recall.
-
I watched from day one. Catherine, Nick and Warrick tried to be cool but regularly were exposed as geeks. Grissom didn't care that he was a geek, and Sara fell in with Grissom as the show progressed. The network "Miami"-d them hard once that program started. Watch seasons one and two and you'll see what I mean.
-
...Those fuckin' Matrix sequels were all-around career-killers. Except for Keanu. If Earth ever gets hit by a rougue comet... all that'll be left is cockroaches... and Keanu. Apparently being able to badly act has the side effect of indestructibility.
-
As to Fishburne, eh I'm not a fan, he bores me a lot. But then to be honest so did Petersen so it's a good fit in that sense.
-
Kristen Bell on the big screen, as Veronica Mars. Mike Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly says a VM movie is back on the radar of Rob Thomas: http://tinyurl.com/6xfosd
-
Helicopter shots of the Dock Tower, baffling murders in Gullies and Nicoles...
-
Possibly.
-
is some good stuff. That CSI forensics science-babble just does not cut it.
-
Still dig Lost, but this guy and his Kevin-Spacey's-wild-eyed-little-brother schtick is getting old. Plus, what's up with him moving the entire Island with a manual crank. What the heck?
-
..or not
-
I don't care. The miniature killer arc was the best thing to come out of CSI.
-
There's a Grimsby here in Canada - Smalltown on the southern side of Lake Ontario, between Hamilton & St Catharines. They could investigate things like "who stole buddy's Ti-Cats tickets" or "who broke into the winery" or "what caused the accident at the water park". A plethora of possibilities.
-
Seriously Grimsby Canada and Grimsby UK sound like they've been separated at birth.
