More FAME Remake Details Emerge

Collider spoke to Lakeshore's Gary Lucchesi & got an update on the FAME remake we've discussed here BEFORE:
* they’re going to shoot the movie this November
*the students will all be unknowns but some of the teachers we’ll recognize
*the budget is around $25-30 million
*they’re going to film in New York and the interiors in Los Angeles
*it’s set today
*All new songs except they’re going to use the Fame song
...says THIS ARTICLE at Collider, which goes on to discuss the possibility of faces from FAME's past making an appearance. the casting of relative-to-complete unknowns, and more.

I hope the new music and dance numbers go something like this:

it'll suck big time i went to see the fame musical in the west end where they changed the story a li'l put different songs in there it didnt feel like fame this will be a poor film and any ways didnt the already kinda remake this with the diney juggernaught that is high school musical!

Well, this isn't really something that many of the AICN talkbackers will be interested... No spaceships, not much CG, probably no semi clad androids... Oh, and lots of singing... But, something is scratching at the back of my brain. Something from the mid 80's. something I pushed down deep into my id... The Kids from Fame, are back... I don't know, that's kind of cool... isn't it??? And if it has any of the punch of the original Parker film, it could actually be quite good... You never know, you just never know.

Pretty much EVERY Disney tween show is about young people seeking fame. It's like Disney wants to teach kids to aspire to be in the tabloids someday.
A bunch of unknowns striving for fame in New York. . . Yeah, no one cares anymore. That describes half the people who move to NYC these days. -

Well the arrogant but talented senior who the main cast eventually runs into waiting tables was Barbara's husband on "One Day at a Time" and then went to Broadway and now has FOUR Tony Awards, the latest for plyaing Herbie in "Gypsy" with Patti Lupone....

My thoughts exactly. And it makes me wonder if Harry is trying to target a wider audience. Remember the chapters from that teeny novel that were posted then pulled down? What next? An AICN contest that wins you tickets to red carpet for TWILIGHT premiere so you can scream your lungs out?
