‘This Is Why I Am Anti-Moppet!! Right Here!!’ The VENTURE BROS. Season Finale Begins!! Also?? ORB Video-Commentary!!
SPOILER ALERT !!
I am – Hercules!!
"Excelsior!!"
This week's online "Venture Bros." contains a two-minute bonus Monarch prologue that will not air on The Cartoon Network Sunday!
Beware the absence of epilogue; the conclusion of the finale airs next week. Oh, and remember: The channel has already greenlit a fourth season.
Also. Did you know last week’s episode, “ORB,” was the second written for the third season? I know this because I clicked on the many “EXTRAS” buttons on the right-hand part of this site and got to see the Jackson Publick/Doc Hammer commentary.
The oddly-coiffed duo confirm that some jars surrounding Quizboy are indeed full of urine -- while others may contain semen. Learn that the Half-Jackal scene had to be cut way down to help get the episode to 22 minutes (from 29). Learn that the real muscleman Sandow started a chocolate company after he retired. Learn that the Action-Man clone was a mistake the creators opted to retain. Learn that Kano was supposed to be voiced by a celebrity. Learn that Sam Clemons was added to the guild because Publick thought the group needed a “marquee name.” Learn that Hammer was left befuddled by the workprint for next week’s installment.

Wtf?Anyone else have a hard time trying to get the player to work?Too many people watching it?Awseome Danger room action.H.el.p.e.rs fear of the impending war between man and machine. The hit squad.Excelsior!Dr. Venture hitting on Brock's "friend".Dr. Girlfriend waiting in Brocks room.Brocks wig?Brocks nipple!!!?!?!Damn crazy episode. They really need to do a a movie and I don't mean live action.Just please still blur out all the guys junk.
-
I don't even watch Venture Bros...just glad to be first fuckers.
-
the no dialog, music only preview with Brock driving...it's a frakking brillant promo
-
That should work. And Venture Bros. rules. The hiatus is way too long though.
-
Brock being de-nippled made me squirt pepsi out of my nose.
-
Brilliant! This season has been building up to next weeks finale! I can't wait!
-
Brock's handling of Go-Fish was fucking awesome!!!!!
-
i don't have to see any more shitty VB posts!
-
This episode was great. I was sort of hoping for a giant three-way battle between Sgt. Hatred, Monarch, and the combined Venture crews, but there's still time for that in the second part. Hilarious, but also bad ass. I'm going to watch this episode again.
-
I hope Brock's mullet was a wig. Either that or he tore his own scalp off. I hate to use the words, but Brock actually, literally jumped a shark. Using the verb "jumped" to mean "attacked".And I couldn't help but be a little moved when comedy relief character the Helper robot actually saved everybody from an impending plane crash. (Can't believe they just left him holding up the plane with those scrawny little arms. We've been waiting for weeks for Monarch's attack - when it comes, nobody's home. And gashdommit, one more episode to go! Only a couple more "Saving Grace"'s left, too. The problem with these short run summer series shows is that they're over so soon, just like summer vacation to a school kid."Why do you sword guys always have to talk about how cool your sword is?" Brilliant spoof on the old Spidey villain Kraven the Hunter, with an elephant head on his chest instead of a lion, and zebra stripes instead of leopard spots. Plus gay ex-GI Joes, the return of Molotov Cocktease and "You won't like looking for the keys." I hope this show goes for at least ten years - it might make life worth living.
-
One refused to do it because of past dalliances, and the others he crushed, beheaded with a sharks jaw and impaled on his own cool sword. So if the mullet was a wig, is the crewcut just for convenience or is he patterning himself after that guy who's his mentor? I noticed he wears the same kind of sunglasses, too. And hate to say it - hope I don't annoy all the mullet fans - but Brock looks better with the short hair and shades. I wonder, in future seasons, will he be drawn smooth on one side of his chest where the nipple was removed, or will it leave a scar? Or will he wear an eye-patch over it? Scratch that, silly thought.
-
I wonder if either Adult Swim, AICN or the Ventures web site can repost that Venture Brothers cast wallpaper teaser poster. I think we've now met most or all of those people - though I sure couldn't identify all of them by name from memory. One of those guides with numbered outlines and a list of names sure would be sweet. Maybe somebody here could ask somebody there about getting something like that done, ey?
-
They really took it to a new level this season. I mean, how kickass was that episode? More action and laughs in a 30 min cartoon than the entire season of most shows. Fucking awesome.
-
now you can go back to jacking off to your fav "reality" show threads...please dont procreate, there are enuf morons in the world waiting for the next installment of survivor
-
Sorry Napoleon, but there shan't be an eyepatch. Though it would be pretty funny the first time I saw it.
-
If what I think your talking about is the picture of everyone in this season. It is still on jakson publicks livejournal blog thingy.
-
OK they don't grow back, but all the men I know who've gotten nipples scraped/sliced/bitten off have had darkish scar tissue grow over that, for all intents and purposes, approximated the male nipple.
-
A fucking car! Damn. There ain't a more badass man alive and that's no lie.
-
HOLY DIVER AT LONG LAST!!!
-
Dammit that was amazing. I had a feeling, since Brock seemed really underused and hadn't really done much badassery, that they were saving him up for a metric fuckton of ass kicking end of the season, and so far, he delivered. I got the impression that he tore/cut his hair off, that's why his head is all stubly.
-
"You call parking a supersonic jet in front of a titty bar inconspicuous? Who taught you how to be a spy? Fucking Gallager?"
-
I don't see Dean Venture is the group portrait
-
Back when that pic first surfaced it was pointed out that the group portrait was for new characters and alternate outfits for main characters. Apparently Dean never had a drastic change of appearance. I don't remember one, so that's probably true.
-
One of the things they point out, and rightfully so, is the low ratio of Dean & Hank to episodes this season. I'm okay with it, and the more Dr. Mrs. The Monarch the better, but I WOULD like to see some more development on the Dean-Triana front.
-
That was freaking awesome. Too many great lines....brain overloading. I would give my left nut to see a Dr. Mrs. The Monarch (In her Queen outfit) in a full catfight smackdown with Molotov Cocktease. Urrrhh.
-
I can't wait for part 2!!!
I do admit though... I thought Le Teure was pretty fucking hot in that Batman towel. -
In the season 2 episode "Hate Floats" she makes Hank drive Brock's hot-wired Dodge Charger and tells him, "I never drive men." Yet, in this ep she's chauffering 21, 24 and the Monarch in the Monachmobile. It's either that, or Monarch, 21 and 24 are women in drag.
-
Great fucking season.
-
What's the name of that program that lets you watch these things despite being (gasp) Canadian? I saw it mentioned in one of these talkbacks and it worked well, but now I'm on a different computer.
-
Hotspot Shield
-
And it's only the first part of the season finale.
-
My new shift at my job doesn't allow me to stay up late on Sunday anymore. I guess the good news for someone is I will be buying this season on DVD when it comes out.
-
i thought she said..."i dont drive mad"
-
but that was my first first ever on this site.
-
Unless you are typing your messages on a type-writer and sending them to aicn via snail mail. But the DVD is going to be totally worth buying, these episodes are very rewatchable.
-
I say again, Best Show on TV.
-
I know, I could catch it online if I wanted. But if I can't see it on my big screen I don't want to see it on my crappy computer monitor.
I guess I have that much respect for the show =) -

if you could pull the toilet paper out of your mouth for a second you just might realize that anyone who likes this show CLEARLY loves badminton!this is pretty fun
-
so obviously he likes the Saw movies.
-
and EVERYONE knows that means he also masturbates to horse cock!!! lolxorz!1!
-
... over the road blowing the flames around.
Single best 1/2 ep ever. -
freaks and face me Samson.
-
Too many lines to quote and Brock's best kill ever. A shark, a fucking shark. You could just see how he couldn't believe what was happening to him while it was happening. Best show on TV.
-
i when Brock is beheaded in the opening minutes, I actually believed it had happened. That's how crazy and ever-changing this show is. Everything was great, and I'm glad some good Brock scenes were had. Absolutely crazy that they wrote "Orb" second out of all the episodes this season. They have unbelievable foresight.

Hilarious how this show has become such a plot fueled thing
by terry1978
Back in the day, like an earlier poster mentioned, it was just made up of standalone eps basically focusing on comedy and shock humor, but now it's actually become one of those cartoons we watch for continuity. This would be the first one to engage me so much on AS since 12 Oz. Mouse...which was actually better than i thought.
-
Spy Hunter video game, the old Aeon Flux cartoons, that ridiculous Bibleman live-action religious super hero show starry "Charles in Charge"'s Buddy Lembeck, and Quint from Jaws.
-
That was very likely the most badass animated anything I have ever seen. Jesus-fucking-GOD I love this show.
-
sheesh.
-
There was also an Artoo "squeeeeeeeeel" moment when HELPER was sliding across the ground holding the jet up during the landing.
-
weak...totally weak...and this was a great epi...and i hope there will be a venture bros movie in 2010
-
I mean, you don't need a flaming sword but it works none the less.
-
how long did it take you to come up with it?
-
Why does the OSI want Brock dead? Is it because he messed up on giving a password in ORB (in the car), or because he didn't kill Dr Venture (something they never specifically asked him to do, so that would be odd).
-
And I think it would be silly if they were trying to kill just over some password misunderstanding, but isn't that what's going on?
-
There are several characters in the picture twice, but no Dean! Hell, he is a Venture Brother!
-
need a countdown to BSG
Make it a sticky
and make it scroll seconds
man I hope it's as good as i hope
(pleas let it not suck. please. please. please) -
Who will die or get maimed?I'm guessing Hank,21 or 24.I think that 21/24(can't remember which is the fat one) will take the other to dr venture to bring him back to life like they do with hank and dean.
-
cuz there really was no point at a comeback...and i really dont wish to hurt your tiny little brain with big words...
-
What I've read is that there's no Dean because he doesn't have a new costume in this season. Everybody else in the picture is either a new costume or a new character.
-
Where Sgt. Hatred's phone was from. I know I've seen it somewhere before. It was the Oreo-shaped buttons that I recognized from somehwere...

Question about Dr. Girlfriend from last season's finale...
by prof. pop-cult
Did they ever answer what she told the Monarch? We were assuming that she was pregnant. But what happened with that? I swear, I watched all the episodes this season, and I can't recall that this cliffhanger from last season's finale was fully addressed this season.
-
you gotta put that word-a-day calendar to use somehow
-
You didn't pay enough attention. It was all made clear. Dr. Girlfriend applied for co-arching status. She became Monarch's partner.
-
It was made apparent what the "secret" was, but it was not he most linear of reveals, and it's not as if there was ever a moment where someone said "Her secret is..." I'm still thinking about how Dermot's mother was in silhouette, and if that means anything. I suppose they may want to save it for next season, as a lot was going on this year.
-
You have a new friend! I'd like to throw a shark at him just to see what happens.....o
-
to kill agents who quit.
-
is correct, CaptGarfield - Dean isn't in the pictures because the picture was a collection of new characters and new models of old characters for the then-upsoming season, and Dean didn't have one. It wasn't released as some kind of promotional thing. Just something Jackson Publick put on his blog - because he has been BLOGGING!!!!
-
Is the Monarch's moment of catharsis coming up? Is he about to dress up as Rusty Venture to get Hatred off the pot? Is he about to BE Rusty Venture...just in time for Jonas Venture Sr. to return and totally confuse everything?
-
Damn! This should be on all fucking YEAR!!!
I expect strange unexpected left fieldness from the finale and I'm sure I won't be disappointed.
They have been crafting a more solid arc into it this series but as long as the great gags keep coming that's all gravy not essential.
I too think Dr Mrs Girlfriend needs to kick serious ass soon.
Also if Spider Skull Island was stormed by a host of Blaculas and Dr Entmann was returned to the glory of Humongeloid to face off Ned, that would please me greatly.
Phantom Limbs been a bit quiet this year too ? meh. He'll be back. -
rofl...im still in shock to learn that brock wears a toupe'

"If Spider Skull Island was stormed by a host of Blaculas..."
by danielkurland
This needs to happen. I would absolutely love to see a huge epic fight going on, and then t oadd unnecessary danger to it all, some Blacula revolt happened. Jefferson Twilight has become wonderful. Also, when did Brock ever quit OSI? And yeah, where the FUCK is Phantom Limb!

I think the implication was that he tore it out, not that it was a hairpiece. After all, he's cut it before, and it grew back slowly over the next few episodes.
-
if you pulled out all your hair, it would just be loose hair, it wouldn't hang together so you could put it on a shark as a wig.Like I'm expecting real world physics and reality from this show.
-
"I once jumped off a roof in my Batman costume... At least I think I did. Maybe it was a dream".From the season two episode that revealed the brothers were clones, that was shown in a "thirteen deaths" flashback as one of the ways that he died.
-
I knew Dr. Girlfriend had now become Monarch's co-arch. But I guess I did not pick up the connection between the two things (last season's cliffhanger) and that. Kind of off how they hype up some mysteries and questions on this show, but only to answer them off-handedly. (Like how the show quickly revealed that Brock is the father of Hank's new best friend -- whose name I cannot remember.)
-
does anybody know why the AS video page has crashed? i was halfway through last week's episode when it stopped playing, and now there are no videos whatsoever on the website. any ideas?
-
Oh my fucking god, this is the true religion of fanboys FUCK EVERYTHING, SW, ST, HEROES, all is steaming flaming shit compared to this, I'm gonna tattoo VENTURE BROTHERS on my balls!! Pain? Who the fuck cares? THIS IS GODAMN ART!! FUCKING GENIUS!!!
-
He didn't quit, though, did he? I thought he accidentally got himself fired when he was in the car and couldn't remember the access code to the files on Operation Rusty's Blanket... (which follows the Publick-Hammer overall theme of the show: failure).
-
Its not a toop. Physics defiance or not, he ripped his hair off to sell his sharky decoy. You can see the stubble on his head. And can you pick me up some conditioner while you're out? I need it. For my beard.
-
With Shoreleave getting suited up? Y'know, it was an old cartoon.
-
Brock Samson is the new prophet of the true god, all show ow down before him.
Seriously folks this is good shit,
Stan Lee, J Quest, this one has it all. SOMETHING CALLED SILVER AGE COMICS? WWBD? Oh shit I pissed my pants again...
Watch and enjoy -
NecGray, that makes sense. They thought he quit. Although it seems like he would just talk to them and explain the situation. Publick and Hammer said that episode 11 got tons cut out of it, so it's more than likely some of this might have been exposition with Brock's situation.
-
I'm going to have to ask the guys about this at DragonCon, because I'm still not sure how that plays together. However, I do have one theory that partially gels:
Brock, I think, got that "Orders Regarding Termination" booklet with the container holding the cylinders. I suspect since he inquired into it with the OSI computer it defaulted on the assumption that Rusty got ahold of the Orb (since the booklet gave an indication he found the buried last clue) and had to terminate Brock for failing his mission. That's why, as Hunter said, they were "throwing him to the wolves" -
the OSI values Brock enough that they'd at least talk to him before immediately killing him without even asking him about his unBrock-like failing of the mission.
-
So damn good!
-
that there would be that many agents who went "off the reservation"? Hell, that book that Hunter gave Brock was pretty lengthyThank god I didn't have to see Brock getting the keys!
-
I think Brock was "terminated" because he asked his car for instructions about Operation Rusty's Blanket bodyguard "termination protocol"-- it was apparently a programming error
-- and therefore yes, the OSI is that incompetant -
I say, yes - Doc and Jackson have said the running theme of Venture Bros. is failure, so yeah I think the OSI is about as inept as the CIA and the New Orleans city government.
-
Brock was assigned to ORB by Sgt. Hatred, with the intended goal that Rusty -would- discover ORB. Sgt. Hatred, on behalf of the Guild, was trying to get ORB either activated or stolen for the Guild. Now that OSI (and thus the Guild) know where ORB is, they want Brock and all the Ventures dead. Brock was marked for termination by the car's system because that was the pending order: to terminate him once it was indicated that ORB was being discovered by Rusty, because otherwise Brock would have successfully prevented Rusty from finding it.
