Cylon-Centric BATTLESTAR GALACTICA TV-Movie Prequel To Hit SciFi Subsequent To Series Finale!!

Published at:  Aug 06, 2008 9:43:10 PM CDT

SPOILER ALERT !!

I am – Hercules!!

The “Battlestar Galactica” TV-movie directed by Edward James Olmos from a teleplay by "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" vet Jane Espenson will hit SciFi in 2009 -- after the series finale airs.

As anticipated, the untitled movie will, like "Razor," be a prequel project. (But it is not to be confused with the separate "Galactica" prequel project "Caprica," a pilot movie scripted by Ronald D. Moore that deals with the "birth" of the Cylons half a century earlier.)

The Los Angeles Times has the plot of the untitled prequel:

The stand-alone will document the Cylons' attempts -- those of two agents in particular -- to grapple with human survivors, both those aboard ships and those left alive on planets, shortly after the Cylons' destruction of human home worlds.

Three actors who play Cylons -- Dean Stockwell (Brother Cavil), Michael Trucco (Sam Anders), Aaron Douglas (Galen Tyrol) – have signed on to the project, set to start shooting this month.

Earlier reports suggested Grace Park (Sharon Valerii Agathon), Michael Hogan (Saul Tigh) and Katee Sackhoff (Kara Thrace) were also being pursued for the project.

Stupid to have movie after finale

    by snowpuff

You can come up with a million reasons to air the movie before the finale.

Coming up with reasons to air it after the finale must require a lot of bizarre reasoning.

SciFi is very good at that, though.

Better have all 12 Cylons in it.

    by shan

    Otherwise what's the point?

At the very least, you need the 7 mass production Cylons in it to some degree, especially Rick Worthy as Simon because in the show so far, he's been given next to nothing to say or do.

Saul was on the L Word as the tennis player's Republican father and looked EXACTLY like John McCain. He's probably hoping McCain will win so he can star in Oliver Stone's "McCain" after 4 to 8 years of lies and mismanagement.

    Although I don't like it

    by tvguy4566

either Roselin or Baltar are the final Cylon. D'Anna said the final Cylon wasn't in the fleet when she demaded the other four be turned over. That means the final Cylon had to be already on the Cylon basestar. It couldn't be Helo or Hera wouldn't be the first Cylon/Human hybrid. I guess that would make a big shocker and little Nicky Tyrol the first Cylon/Human hybrid.

    well then

    by dudemandude

it seems Starbuck may be the Final Cylon, being that her character seems a tad out of place at this time. I guess we need to know more of the plot behind the movie to know for sure, but circumstantially, it looks to be Starfrack as the Fifth.. perhaps. lol

I like BSG so I'm not apposed to more of it, but so far the two ideas I've read about, Caprica and now this, seem a bit uninteresting compared to the series. I want some story and shots of the Cylon homeworld and how they go about their business there. People are always interested in the villains at least I am. I've seen enough of the Fleet and such, time for more Cylon action.

Final Cylon - only really a few options

    by performingmonkey

Firstly it's no-one in the 'last supper' shot because RDM said so. So unless he's lying through his teeth that rules out all the main cast (Adama, Roslin, Starbuck, Baltar etc.). If it's someone we hardly know there will be no impact so it MUST be a secondary cast member like Gaeta or perhaps someone who's already dead like Cally or a recurring guest like Romo Lampkin or Richard Hatch's character.

    The girl from Razor?

    by therabbitofcaerbannog

What about the XO from Pegasus in the Razor prequel? Not in the painting, not a regular, "someone we've met before". Fits all the criteria and would be a bit of a pay off for those who saw the movie. Also, they've hinted that the first "skin job" that will appear in Caprica will be a young-ish female.

enjoy them & stop bitching. this is all made for ENTERTAINMENT, you don't like it, turn it off and read a frackin book.

Most likely they will release the DVD in two parts (like season 2)....I'm bitching about it but I'll buy it. I love the show.
