VENTURE BROS. Boss Gets Laughs At Comic Con!! ‘I'm Sorry The Creator Of The Show Interrupted You And Your Important Question!!’

Published at:  Aug 05, 2008 4:00:04 PM CDT

I am – Hercules!!

I gather there's a lot of whining in talkback about AICN posting too much Comic Con coverage subsequent to the event every year -- but I assume those who carp constitute only a vocal angry virgin minority. I put it to you, talkbackers: would you really prefer we stopped with this stuff?

While you decide, get the straight dope on Sheila Monarch’s knitting, fan hatred of Kevin & Tim-Tom, plans to again clone the title characters and the return of Werner Underbeit -- in the video of Comic Con's “Venture Bros.” panel featuring predictably hilarious series creator Jackson Publick and the fellow who plays Dean.

Check out how many girls asked questions!

    "Angry virgin minority"?

    by tonagan

Does that mean that there's a minority of angry virgins, or that there's a minority of virgins that are angry, or are you implying that minorities are virgins, and that they're angry?

    by heckles

Edit down the interviews. Shooting the shit with Kevin Smith or Seth Rogen isn't as cool as you might think. Transcribing every little detail in the interview is overkill. Combine related material. Be more picky as to what's posted in the first place. Make it timely. Comic-Con is done. It's over. Time to move on.

Post the comic-con stuff and if there are people who aren't interested... they don't have to read it. I'm kind of curious why this even needed to be asked. Are there really people out there who's stay up at night with their blood-boiling because AICN posts too much comic-con coverage? Seems silly to me.

"ORB" has leaked out onto the internet

    by inactionman

The next VB episode "ORB" has leaked out onto the internet.

"Orb" may be the greatest episode of VB yet and I think it is only the lead up to to what has to be a mind blowing season cliffhanger. This thing is filled with unbelievable amounts new information on the Ventureverse and back story. There are tons of little easter eggs and appearances by characters that I thought we would never see again except in flashbacks. Plus an actual part of an episode of an original "Rusty Venture" Cartoon. You may have to watch this ten times to take in all the implications of what is presented in this episode.

Just a few semi spoilerish tidbits.

-We learn the true purpose of "Rusty's Blanket"

-We get a parody of a famous graphic novel written by Alan Moore.

    - No Molotov Cocktease this week so she must be in the finale.

-Brock receives help from a stripper that may make you question your sexuality more than Dr. Girlfriend.

-There may be hope for Rusty after all.

Thank you for not dropping any major spoiler bombs. Can't wait. "That's for calling Ook-Ook a monkey!" Why do they have to block everything but the ads to Canadians on that site? ORB looks good, the episode answers one really long standing question and ponders the fate of another major character. Watch it for what happens to Dr. O, stay for the Alchemists best spot yet.

ergo clips/trailers/webby things have to be available in french and english. Plus people are dicks.

Although after watching that - AND being canadian - can we get Jackson Publick and Simon Pegg in a room together? Can they go for BBQ and beer at Joss Whedon's house or something?

That isn't it. They use a blanket block because the AS lawyers requested it due to regional rights.
Since the majority of their shows are licensed to other networks(and they are too cheap to make a Canadian version of their network). Were stuck with delays for when the networks up here have to either wait for time on the tables or for the rights to be enabled. Teletoon has the English rights to the first two and likely the next two as well, but unlike the comedy network(they did south park with a three week delay) they only see how important it is when people bitch. Enough people bitched for Q1 2009, help out in us getting it for Halloween, bitch too.

I can MAYBE somehow understand geoblocking Canada since we don't get Adult Swim, but to block content that is not airing on TV, and I'm simply watching because I adore the product, is just silly. How is that supposed to generate/maintain fans for your programming? Is the footage enjoyable?

    by inactionman

(Garbeled?) man of the future. Sandow is speaking to you from beyond the grave. The voice you now hear is coming from the Victor Talking Machine……..Duty that no man, dagger, bullets or blow would harm .... Foolishly, Sandow believed the device and my dreadful orders to protect it to be a myth. That changed, everything changed….…Sandow knew what had to be done. Men like us follow orders. Yes future man, we really are pawns. But pawns that move in that crazy L-shape like that horse piece.
