Ready for some TROPIC THUNDER This Friday At ALAMO SOUTH?!?!?
Hey folks, Harry here - word has it that Tropic Thunder is gonna drop a shitload of laughs on the entire nation soon enough, but in the meanwhile - we've cooked up some hilarity of our very own - If you want to be a part of the insanity - sign up below...
This Friday, August 1st, 2008, Red Hour Films, Dreamworks Pictures and The Alamo Drafthouse will proudly present an advance screening of the most hilarious, blazing, raging film in the history of comedy: TROPIC THUNDER. And even better: it's free to get in.
BUT there is a catch. To get you into the right mindset for this movie, select attendees may have to make it through "THE SHIT," which is nothing short of a paintball tunnel of shrieking death. Want to get the first shot in Austin to see what is shaping up to be the funniest movie of the summer?
Show us you have the stones to face "THE SHIT." To enter to win tickets to the screening, all you have to do is email us at getsome@fantasticfest.com! half of the tickets are reserved for Fantastic Fest Badge Holders, half for the general public. If you are 2008 Badge Fantastic Fest badge holder, write "FANTASTIC THUNDER" in the subject line of the email. If you are not a 2008 Fantastic Fest badge holder, write "REGULAR THUNDER" in the subject line. In the body of your email, enter your name and whether you desire one or two tickets.
Winners will be drawn at random and announced at 10:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30, then posted to Ain't It Cool News and the Alamo Blog, Fantastic Fest blog and the Alamo Facebook Page.

AICN - Alamo - Tropic Thunder! You guys rock. I sent my request, and can't wait to be there. I told my wife we had to be shot by paintballs, and she says she's ready for it. She's a trooper - but I ain't going to tell her she doesn't have to just yet!

and I didn't even have to get shot with paintballs to see it. Instead I got a large popcorn, sprite and a hotdog. That sure set me in the mood.

Oh, man, this may just be the greatest comedy in ages. I've got a thing for Downey, Jr. and I am already waiting in line. Even if he is the only one who delivers, and the rest suck uncircumcised geriatric penis, I'll be happy. I can't believe I am hyped up for a Ben Stiller picture.

I'm gorging on the hype - can't wait to see this damn movie. That all being said, movies that have loads o inside jokes about moviemaking notoriously flop. As much as I loved it, "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" anybody?
