The lead was very appealing and it showed promise. Sorry it did not catch on.
-
They better not ruin Pushing Daisies by forcing Wonderfalls characters uncomfortably into stories!
-
when it was canceled after three episodes, and most people have never heard of it?
-
...Yerp.
-
...if for nothing more than to constantly stare sideways at Ned the Pieman and continually mumble how uncannily he resembles her brother, Aaron. Hell, while they're at it, bring Aaron in, too; if written right, that could KILL!
-
In fact every time I read anything you post I temper your enthusiasm with the knowledge that you liked that pile of crap.

Hmm and here I thought it was Pushing Dasies that was overrated
by gwarwilleatyou
to each his own I guess
-
I fucking loved it!
-
I hope this happens, i'd love to see that series live on in any form possible
-
...from a Fuller-Fuller crossover; Fuller himself, of course, originally a Whedon-apprentice. Still, enjoyed WONDERFALLS and PUSHING DAISIES last season, so this should be worthwhile.
-
Still, Daisies is a good show though.
-
... please Herc, your obsession with Wonderflushes is neither "Scrubs" cute nor tonge-in-cheek funny, but if you really like Mr. Fuller's work, please focus all this um, energy? to keep PD going on the air as long as possible.
-
An who did the animation for the credits of WF and PD? do they come from the same source?
-
I will come to blows with anyone that says otherwise!
-
when was that?
-
...and I really like Pushing Daisies whenever I get a chance to watch it. This is only good news.
-
Maybe they can meet Carnivale, too.
-
... you get diabetes instantly when you view the two shows back-to-back. Throw in a SIX FEET UNDER chaser and you've got a night of endless toothache-agony.
Fortunately, we were spared a return of WONDERFALLS. How PUSHING DAISIES' pursed-lipped man-boy-girl 'hero' managed to get another season is really beyond me. I guess it really speaks of the feminization of American culture.
Meanwhile, I'm going to go watch ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST. kTHXBYE. -
I think he was a Brannon Braga apprentice. That's close enough for Herc to have a TVgasm.
-
They said (and I was there) that they would LIKE to consider it in the future - but for now they wanted Ned to be the special one in his world and didn't want to have other "magical" people coming along just yet to take away from his special abilities.
So - they never said it was a for sure thing, or even this season.
They did also say they wanted a musical episode. -

Sigh... I was just getting over the loss of Wonderfalls...
by aversiontherapy2
And now they want to tempt us with this! I would love to see Jaye return, she's the sassiest love beast ever to grace my television.
-
Seriously!?! This dude sucks! Yeah...AND I bought Sean Chen's last penguin before you could get it, Arquette! I KNOW you wanted it! HAH!
-
fuller with his finger on the pulse of fandom
-
when Simon & Simon had to go to Hawaii. There they ran into Magnum P.I. Great crossover.
-
I'd pay to see that, pay with babies blood. Now to make some babies.
-
there is a script being written for a rome movie...thats all
-
You clearly haven't been around here long if you think "most people have never heard of it". It's overrated by AICNers, and those not aware of it don't have any worse a life for that, so leave it dead. Dead Like Me, on the other hand, was brilliant, that should be brought back, but not at the expense of cheapening Pushing Daisies.
-
dead like me was brilliant and wonderfalls was rubiish. actually thats probably the other way around. wonderfalls had some fantastic episodes ( that Russian bride episode particularly brilliant). not a bad character amongst the whole team. well worth the purchase on dvd. another show cut short by fox!
-
What now? What's this Wonderfalls all about? Is it about Niagra Falls in Canada or something?
-
Dead Like Me lost Fuller early on, and it showed. I loved it, don't get me wrong, and it certainly had its moments of brilliance, but it suffered from being pulled into too many directions. I think I'll eventually love Pushing Daisies more than Wonderfalls, but it hasn't had a chance to totally find its footing yet (long-term direction mainly).
Yay for Wonderfalls crossovers. And I agree, Jaye MUST make an appearance, if only for the in-joke about her brother. But really, Caroline Dhavernas is awesome, and should really be in more American movies/TV. -
Caroline Dhavernas is just plain hot, imho.
-
But this would be like sprinkles on top of frosting on top of a cupcake inside a real cake.... I hope you can sense the goodness I'm trying to convey here.
-
...that my teenagers would actually sit down and watch with me. It's a miracle when someone can put together a show that gets our whole family in front of the TV together. Dr. Who is currently filling that niche. ;)
-
I loved that Simon and Simon crossover! Of course nothing ever beats Jessica Fletcher with Magnum PI!
-
Is that video clip wonderfalls? I can't sit through it enough to find out.
-
Dont they have the same plot or something?
-
I liked both shows and on a very very superficial maybe just on a fortune-cookie brief written description kind of a way they resembled each other, but to watch them was to see two way different shows, as different as Touched by an Angel and Dead Like Me (I think, I never actually watched Touched by an Angel, but I think it was probably sentimental because of the title). Joan of Arcadia wasn't 7th Heaven bad, but it sure seemed like it next to Wonderfalls. Sadly both shows and Tru Calling were ditched by dipshit network executives. **************************** Isn't it going to be odd for Jaye to see Ned, who looks identical to her brother Aaron? Otherwise, I'd love to see her!!!
-
...won't she think the Pieman looks a lot like her brother?
-
Woops, you're right -- I was thinking of Tim Minear, but said "Fuller" for some reason, since both worked on WONDERFALLS during its run.
-
but I'd sure love a taste of Caroline Dhavernas' pie hole...
-
This much:
http://ghostbot.blogspot.com/ -
she'd be great on Pushing Daisies.
preferably in a three way with Chuck and Olive. -
Fuller must be reading the TBs. This is going to be freakin' awesome.
-
Love both shows and Dead Like Me as well...I wonder if that DLM movie is still coming out or not.
-
that's been cancelled by retarded execs: Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me and Line of Fire. That's my top 3 anyhoo. I'm a sad panda.
-
Forgot about that one. Yeah. That was good.
-
A great show that deserved more. "...Daisies" is a great one as well.
-
I just don't see a couple dozen passionate fans of a show equating to said show being overrated, but I guess that's all a matter of perspective. I loved it, but if you hated it, I guess I could see how a couple of dozen fans could be a couple of dozen too much.
All a matter of perspective. -
It gave me serious "sophomore slump" vibes...probably for the best that it became more of a miniseries (albeit a long one) than a regular series. The talking trinkets gimmick was starting to show its wrinkles and could have been horrible in a second go-round. But the lead was amazingly cute and the season for what it was ended on a solid, satisfying note.
-
It merely isn't as great as everyone keeps saying. Like The Dark Knight. I have no problem with Wonderfalls obsessions living on in AICNers' hearts, but when their rabid love causes characters to be brought into existing (and better imo) tv shows, then I'm wary, is all.
-
...known universe destroyed as all matter gets sucked into a gigantic quantum singularity of gayness.
-
or just a one-time guest star? cool stuff about wonderfalls, I'd love to have Jaye on, though...
-
Fair enough.
Though, as a fan of Wonderfalls, I was unaware that they were created by the same person, and with this news Pushing Daisies is now in my Netflix queue and will be added to my season pass..... -
They did it with Munch joining Law&Order SVU, so why cant they do that here too? Is there really a difference between bringing in a character from another show and creating a brand new character?
-
If they bring characters in without any in-jokes that require knowledge of Wonderfalls. Like the "omfg wouldn't it be so funny if she mentions how much he looks like her brother?!" stuff that is already flying over my head.
-
just got a DUI!!! Bwa-HA HA HA HA
-
....on our basic cable? When William Sadler delivered that line on Wonderfalls, my love for the show became permanent. I have the DVD set on my iPod and re-watch regularly. I love Pushing Daisies...it's a love letter to people like me who take the road less traveled as a matter of routine. As was Wonderfalls. A crossover is an unexpected, but much wished for moment of joy for me. Wow...this just made a shitty Monday into a sunny day. Thanks, Herc ! ! ! !
-
Hence the cancellation. Give it up Herc, I love you buddy, but you have shit taste in television.
-
what else is there?
his good looks?
his amazon links?
-
last, and it dawned on me. She played Phillipe's wife in Breach. A damned good movie, by the way.
-
How about Pushing Daisies and Six Feet Under?
-
They are both cancelled, they came from competing cable outlets, and both have "dead" in the title. I win!!!!!!
-
Tony and company vs. Vic and the strike team...come on, man. How cool would that be?
-
just like Buffy and Alias. Junk peddling for morons, that's what THAT it. Anyone that says TDK is the best movie ever, should have their eyes revoked. There's always radio.
-
There is a reason it was cancelled so early, people.
-
fox didnt allow it to grow an audience....it should have been given the entire season...wasnt like they had anything else of quality to take its place...they also moved it after its first few episodes to the death slot on friday nites...they didnt want it to succeed

Wonderfalls was a thousand times better than Pushing Daisies
by prior walter
And one of the best shows ever.
-
I loved that show, but c'mon, the Pilot was one of, if not THE, worst episode of the bunch. Not that I don't love it, but if you're trying to show people what made it so great? That was SO not the clip to show.
-
It's the most repeat watched tv series dvd in my collection.
-
I thought he was Olive's true love!
-
...but for some reason I really like "Pushing Daisies." Odd, because Lee Pace starred in both shows. I think it's the female cast, though, which is first-rate - I never warmed to any of the "Wonderfalls" women, including the lead actress, who reminded me of a less talented, more annoying Elizabeth Shue. Glad "Pushing Daisies" is coming back, though.
-
Fuller's best show to date and one of my favourite shows ever. Way better overall than Pushing Daisies and Dead Like Me (which I also like). It would be amazing if they brought Jaye Tyler for an episode on Pushing Daisies.

Getting cancelled has nothing to do with the quality of a show
by newmark
Come on, people, you should know this by now. I won't even bother to mention all the great shows of the past that were cancelled before their time.
-
... that is plenty of nude pictures of the Wonderfalls leading actress!
-
How are they going to explain that the owner of the pie hole looks just like jaye's brother?
-
It captures the essence of upstate perfectly. I grew up in Rochester...
