How Sad. Did he leave at some point? I haven't followed the show since Season 1.
-
One of the creators' blogs said that He wasn't interested in the role any longer.
-
...and don't much give a squirt. Venture Bros. rules.
-
Another great episode.Fave stuff for mewas the pirate not covering up his one eye till sally went "invisible".The workers having a muntiny.Action Mans entrance and being told to "Tone it down a notch".Also Rusty's "compassion" towards his brother and Brocks reaction.
-
Damn typos and improper spacing.
-
This is complete spamming, I know. But when I was having trouble watching Dr. Horrible, people put me on to "hotspot shield". Eventually I did not need it for that viewing but I found I could *finally* watch Venture Bros eps with it and that made it some valuable information passed on. I appreciated it a lot, so I'd thought I'd do the same. Not going to link it but google it, if you like. I won't post this again, sorry.
-
So much good stuff in there.
-
Does it come close? With his work on Venture and Harvey Birdman, Colbert's voice is pretty distinctive.
-
next season...cuz its gonna rock...and fuck colbert...he wins a peabody and thinks his shit doesnt stink anymore...well it does, cuz i smelled it

If I recall, Jackson never actually talked to Colbert
by Shut the Fuck up Donny
but was merely contacted by one of Colbert's assistans who said Colbert wasn't interested. Jackson seems pretty cool about it and just assumed the assistant in question probably never heard of Venture Bros and preemptively declined. Be that the case or not, Jackson's a class act for not making a feud out of this. And the guy who did Colbert's voice did a pretty good substitution.

I was hoping the Monarch would crash the party
by Shut the Fuck up Donny
based on the end of last week's episode. But, I suspect the shows are still being aired a little out of order this season, and thus explaining why there's no mention of the Monarch trial-henching Jonas Jr. at this point.
-
..cant watch coz im international like... booo i say boooooo. And there is no region 2 dvd of seasons 1 and 2, suckage. I'll have to download it then, the horror.
-
just curious if aicners went
-
blame wierd copyright laws...i cant watch the bbc or ctv online either...so i gotta wait till who and degrassi hit the torrents
-
Another awesome edition of VB. Glad Col.Gentleman is still alive and kicking yam sacks.
-
It's too bad they lost Colbert, but they managed it just fine.
-
Did you notice he sucker-punched Rusty and said it was for breaking his "step daughters" heart? <p> So I guess he knows he was not the father of Dr. Quymn?
-
how they bleeped out what decade they were in. ninteen-bleep-nine. weird. maybe rusty is a clone too, cuz it shows him at about age 13 or so. we could do the math so it doesnt make much sense to bleep out the year.
-
JJ was kind of a dick in this episode. I liked him better being totally superior to Rusty in every way. I hope it was just the stress of the opening.
-
Jackson Publick did the voice himself and was just as good as Colbert; I wouldn't have noticed he had a different voice if it hadn't been pointed out here. Fuck Colbert.
-
...You were just trying to kill yerself weren't you? ANOTHER fantastic ep., OG Team Venture action (didn't think Gentleman's gay ass would make a comeback, guess there's too many people who need a "Smack in the mouth" to let hoim go) Also shocked & glad to see Action Man still kickin'
-
I could've sworn I saw a little bit of sally nip. Loved the moment at the end on the plane between Rusty and Brock. Also, I'm pretty sure I heard them say it was 1969. Did anyone think JJ's voice sounded kind of different this episode?
-
Has been the most inconsistent in the show. Initially he sounded pretty much exactly like Dr. Venture only more evil. Then they seemed to be trying to make him sound like Charlton Heston. Now I don't know which direction they're going with his voice.
-
and giggling. so funny to me
-
Did anyone else notice the picture that Richard Impossible is looking at ? It has him, Jonas Sr., a man I think is Major Tom, and the members of the Venture Boy Brigade ( not sure of spelling the words are hard to make out ) .... Phantom Limb and the Alchemist !!!
-
For the three-way between Colonel Gentlmen, Gore Vidal, and Wally Schirra alone.
-
does anybody notice the animation looks a lot looser? The characters faces and expressions became more exaggerated and not as tight or classically rigid as designed.
-
He was unnoticeable in the previous episodes and he's not missed now. Good episode, even though I secretly hate JJ.
-
Get the fuck out of here. Had you going though. Huh? Had you going.
-
Really loved this episode and the return of Richard Impossible. I would have liked to have seen the island explode at the end or for Richard to have killed himself, just because the show has the courage to do stuff like that. Was Jonas Jr.'s voice different too?
-
Has it been confirmed that season 4 is influenced by the Watchmen, or are you just making a guess based on how much of this season has been flashback/backstory?
-
How the FUCK did you catch that? We've never seen either of those characters from that particular age, but you can just tell by their faces that it's them. Ridiculous.
-
Re-watched Season 1 last week...funnier the second time! Buying Season 2 tomorrow. Hope to be caught up by next week so I can jump into the t.b's w/out fear of spoilers or looking like a complete idiot(oops, too late for that,I suppose). Later.
-
Knows Col.Gentlemen isn't her father. In her flashback she called him Horace.<br><br> Anyways, that was a funny episode although I thought last weeks was better. I want the Monarch to get his own show.
-
For everyone outside the US who wants to watch these, or vise-versa, you might try Anonymouse.org or you could buy, a program called "Hide My IP", and using the premium service pick the country of origin you want your IP to come from.<P><P> I've used both from time to time with great success. <P><P>On the show front, another great episode. I would like them to add some more voice talent though, I'm sure the budget is tight, but the only quibble I have with the show is too many times the voices sound too close to each other. And can't Warburton do more voices than his own? I mean come on, even Yeardley Smith has done more than one voice, once in a while. Other than that, great show!
-
You've taken the words from my mouth. The voice talent is stretched too thin. Urbaniak is probably their best voice actor, and he does like three characters. They should get Brendan Small to do more voicework, like he did in season two. Major asset to the show, they should try their utmost to work around his busy Metalocalypse schedule. I'm missing him far more than Colbert.

KCViking, good man, put all other priorities aside
by Shut the Fuck up Donny
and get your ass to Mars..err..I mean caught up. I think you'll REALLY enjoy season two as the guys realized they weren't working with one season and were going to have some breathing room as far as expanding their boundaries. This is where I feel they really take off with creating fun story archs and honing their skills creating group dynamic "Victor Echo November" MAY be my favorite from Season two as I feel it best displays those very qualities I speak of.
-
was amazing, and I bow down to those who caught it. It puts my fandom to shame. Heh. But that still leaves one character in the photo unaccounted for: the beefy guy in the V sweater.
-
I was amazed to notice Kano(sp) would "speak" whenever they went "Go Team Venture." I wonder if that's an animation error or if he would mouth it with the team as a symbol of unity. Also, I miss the other Old Team Venture logo from season 1/2 as opposed to the one used in this episode. I wonder the reason for the change...
-
great epi...go team venture
-
and some huge wishing...and did everyone catch the omen reference?
-
Jonas Venture Sr. is not actually dead and will be reappearing in the cliffhanger ending of Season 3? Hmmmm?
-
The guys in the picture are Richard Impossible, Phantom Limb, the Alchemist and Col. Manstrong, the astronaut from the space station.
-
You catch Jonas Venture, Sr.'s picture with Kennedy, shaking hands, surrounded by the other heroes and stuff. Kinda like that panel from Watchmen.
-
wow. best line ever.
-
He has not been seen since the "IGNORE ME!" episode.
-
I kind of wish he'd stayed dead, because he had the most hilarious death ever and this retcons it.
-
My favorite character has got to Brock Sampson because he is one tough mofo on that show. I still don't know how many times Dean and Hank have died and how the hell did Dr. Venture make copies of them. But the guys who make the show good have got to be the two henchmen of The Monarch, they are hilarious. lol Hey, do you guys know what tonight's episode was talking about?! I missesd the beginning of it. Please fill me in and I need some details too. Thanks! ;)
-
With Brock and Doc's exchange about the situation being a powder keg ready to explode, and the beatnik/hippie guy in a turtleneck (whose fat behind Baron Underbheit kicked to precipitate the tag sale melee) making a re-appearance in the background characters at Jonas Jr.'s party.
-
Whenever the Action man killed someone, hilarious! But why was Brisbee still alive?
-
I can't believe no one else has noticed this. It's not even all that hidden:<br> First episode of the season: The Guild quickly changes the subject when Monarch asks them if they killed Jonas Sr. I.e. he's not actually dead.<br> Third episode of the season: The Guild assigns a way too competent Brock to guard Rusty. Why would they do that, unless they want Rusty alive? I.e. not only is Jonas Sr. alive, but he's in The Guild!<br> Previous seasons: Remember, The Guild never cleared Monarch to arch Rusty, and they made Dr. Mrs. The Monarch make Monarch give up arching Rusty as a condition to marry her. Why would they continue to want to keep him alive?<br> Therefore: Jonas Sr. is alive, and is in The Guild. Bank on it.<br> P.S. Anyone have a rip of the season opener to compare The Guild's outlines? Given some of the ridiculous hats they wear, and the ridiculous hats the original Team Venture wears, I'm surprised no one has tried giving it a whirl to see if anything matches up.
-
I'm not so sure Jonas Sr. is alive, but with all the face time he's gotten this season I wouldn't discount it either. Before Brock, Myra was pretty damn competent as well before going nuts. Jonas definitely had ties to the Guild we haven't seen that tie into Rusty's Blanket but I don't think he's IN the Guild, at least not as David Bowie's subordinate. David Bowie was at that key party in the Dr. Quymn episode, dammit (the "pretty thing" Colonel Gentleman was lusting after.) There's a link in there somewhere. God I love this show.
-
If that's so then this is all leading up to an Original Team Venture vs. "New" Team Venture/Triad faceoff finale?
-
The season finale ("The Family That Slays Together, Stays Together") is apparently a two-part episode...
-
If Jonas Sr is alive, and is behind the Guild, then Dr. Henry Killinger trying to turn Rusty to the dark side is alot deeper then we thought....
-
Just saw the preview and it looks like it continues from last weeks episode of the monarch attacking jonas jr.Looked pretty good.
-
That was SO good! One of the best episodes ever. Well done!!
