I am – Hercules!!
The SciFi Channel just announced its new slate of projects, which includes a miniseries series in development from Bryan Singer (“X-Men,” “Superman Returns,” “House”).
Other projects in development:
* "What If?” an hourlong about a new ice age triggered by a comet’s near-collision;
* "Soul Evidence," which follows the real Allison Dubois (whose life inspired NBC's “Medium”) as she solves crimes;
* "Danger Game," about a group organizing alternative reality experiences;
* "Relic Quest," about worldwide artifact searches; and
* "Escape," about three contestants trying to get out of a locked room.
Sci Fi has also greenlit three new series:
* "Outer Space Astronauts," a five-episode sitcom about a space crew from Russell Barrett, Scott Puckett and David O. Russell (“I Heart Huckabees”);
* "Cash or Capture," a six-episode reality competition about hunters chasing human prey; and
* "Estate of Panic," a six-episode reality competition about a mansion of terror from Endermol (“Big Brother,” “Fear Factor”).
Fans of "Frankenfish," "Skeleton Man" and "Mansquito," meanwhile, will be pleased to learn SciFi will offer 36 new TV-movies in 2009, up from 24 in 2008. (Which begs the question: Why did it take so long to greenlight the "Caprica" TV-movie?)
