A New Ice Age!! Hunting Human Prey!! Alternative Realities!! A New Bryan Singer Miniseries!! SciFi Unveils Plans Aplenty!!
I am – Hercules!!
The SciFi Channel just announced its new slate of projects, which includes a miniseries series in development from Bryan Singer (“X-Men,” “Superman Returns,” “House”).
Other projects in development:
* "What If?” an hourlong about a new ice age triggered by a comet’s near-collision;
* "Soul Evidence," which follows the real Allison Dubois (whose life inspired NBC's “Medium”) as she solves crimes;
* "Danger Game," about a group organizing alternative reality experiences;
* "Relic Quest," about worldwide artifact searches; and
* "Escape," about three contestants trying to get out of a locked room.
Sci Fi has also greenlit three new series:
* "Outer Space Astronauts," a five-episode sitcom about a space crew from Russell Barrett, Scott Puckett and David O. Russell (“I Heart Huckabees”);
* "Cash or Capture," a six-episode reality competition about hunters chasing human prey; and
* "Estate of Panic," a six-episode reality competition about a mansion of terror from Endermol (“Big Brother,” “Fear Factor”).
Fans of "Frankenfish," "Skeleton Man" and "Mansquito," meanwhile, will be pleased to learn SciFi will offer 36 new TV-movies in 2009, up from 24 in 2008. (Which begs the question: Why did it take so long to greenlight the "Caprica" TV-movie?)

I week for the network that would not back more BSG for this shite.
-
sci fi still has shit. what if sound like the only remotely interesting offering. unless they completely fuck it up
-
A medieval tenticular beasties in chamberpots infestation.
-
I wonder if they've made any decisions on STARGATE UNIVERSE yet.

Why did it take so long to greenlight the "Caprica" TV-movie?
by snowpuff
Those movies like Mansquito and like I Stole Bonnie Hammer's Brain are very cheap to acquire.
Caprica... not so cheap. -
Now that they may have received some new funding for more shows and series how about they take a look at one or more of our comic book series as a show or mini-series?! www.gistudios.com

What ever happened to the Kim Stanley Robinson RED MARS miniseries that SciFi promised was 'coming soon' a couple years ago? They even included the title and a simple Mars graphic in a commercial they ran, a promo of upcoming projects.
-
They need to decide if they're going to a) do more SG1 movies, b) make a new Stargate series, or c) make insanely crappy monster of the week movies and show more wrestling.
-
Manscito not so much.
-
Ye gods, that means a new one would start shooting every 1.4 weeks. I'm sure Antonio Sabato will be pleased to hear it.
-
BSG, Doctor Who, Eureka, SG Atlantis, that's about it on SciFi any more. I remember the day when they would run old Gerry Anderson and not so great 70's scifi series, too bad those days are gone.

there is something glorious about some of those movies

I don't care what people say, sometimes you need a big chunk of monster cheese. Some truly suck but a lot of them are wonderful in the way only low budget C-level crap can be. 3pm on a Saturday, Supergator is on Sci-fi. The Alamo is on AMC. I'm going with Supergator.
-
Hoo-boy between the cancellation of MST3K, Invisible Man and Farscape, the infinite Stargate spinoffs, The wrestling, the shitty movies and the dragging out BSG into infinity, Sci-fi channel can suck my balls.
-
They have made some truly terrible programing decisions that have flied in the face or ratings or cult following.
-
Following her solving crimes; I'll be stunned if this show demonstrates one case that she actually solves with her "psychic" abilities.
-
Well since most of their movies are bought from other places, and not their own creation, it's not so hard to see why it took so long for the GREAT CAPRICA movie to get Greenlit.
Man I so wish Bonnie Hammer and her fucking husband would disappear.
“Bonnie’s achievements with USA and Sci Fi have been spectacular,” NBCU president and CEO Jeff Zucker added. “She’s a multitalented executive who knows how to run a network, program it successfully and inspire a team. I’m thrilled to have her play a bigger role at NBCU.”
fucking bitch.

For the remake of Far Out Space Nuts...er... Outer Space Astronauts?
-
is this like a documentary thing? or another series based on her? I don't get it.
-
This is no such thing as psychic powers. God damn, this channel shoudl just rename itself the PseudoScience Channel and be done with it.
-
"let's do a little social experiment"
-
I knew you were going to write that :)
-
God that sucked as a list.
-
Factually psychics have NEVER solved a crime.
But in Canada a child was removed from his parents custody because a student aid was advised by a psychic the child was being molested.
How come we never see that series? -
Don't need a comet. Cooling, according to the UN climate people, will run through 2015.
Most likely beyond that but they need time to change all the literature from Global warming to Climate change. -
God how fucking repetitious that concept is.
Bonekickers episode two featured a Barry Obama clone. -
Take a group of people put them on an island. One is a prison lifer with a penchant for anal rape. At the end of every episode someone gets assraped.
Everyone has to figure out who the Butt Pirate is.
Kind of like The Mole and OZ combined. -
More reality programming from Skiffy. What drugs are they on and how can I switch them to a psychedelic?
-
I mean, what the fuck Sci-Fi? You have this amazing mini-series that has the potential to be a GREAT show, and you're not taking advantage of it? *sigh*
-
Alternative realities can you say sliders
-
I love watching those bad movies on saturday and sunday.
-
however, the real Allison Dubois is - like most anyone who claims to be psychic - also a gaping fraud.
i like Medium. it's a smart show and no more requires its audience to believe in psychics than Heroes requires its audience to believe in superhumans.
But a show based on the real Allison Dubois would just the biggest crock of shit. in fact, i reckon it would be like watching Cartman battling his fellow psychics, only not actually funny. -
wow, The Condemned turned out to be right...
-
So much for cutting edge programming.
