Will Ferrell To Play Crazed Racist In TWO FACE, Scripted By X-FILES Vet Vince Gilligan??

Before Will Ferrell plays John Watson in Judd Apatow's untitled Sherlock Holmes comedy, he hopes to star in “Two Face,” written by Vince Gilligan (“The X-Files,” “Breaking Bad,” “Hancock”).
Variety offers the logline:
Ferrell is attached to play the title character, a racist who, after a prank gone awry, develops a split personality.
I guessed one of the personalities is still racist, while the other is really, really racist -- but the Hollywood Reporter reports the new personality is a bleeding-heart liberal.

Wow, and TDK hasn't even released yet! But I don't get why they are replacing Aaron Eckhart with Will Ferrel...not only is that in poor taste as the studio hasn't even seen the public's reaction to Aaron Eckhart's Two-Face yet...but I just can't see WIll Ferrel in the role....seems like a BAD CHOICE to me. Shame on Warner Brothers...

That's the last thing I want to see. Why? Because the "racist" will inevitably be portrayed as a "conservative". Will Ferrel is as liberal as the day is long so I can guarantee you that he will inject some of that animosity into the "bad" personality.

Dated "Fall '96". I assume the "and" (as opposed to "&") means they weren't writing together. So are we to assume that whatever rewriting Spike did will be ignored and this is entirely a Vince writing/directing project now?
