Bits from HBO’s Thursday TCA event: * “Sex and the City” icon Sarah Jessica Parker is returning to the realm of book-derived HBO sitcoms to shoot a pilot for "Washingtonienne," based on the novel by Jessica Cutler about the sex life of a D.C. girl.

* “Sopranos” vet Terence Winter is teaming with Martin Scorsese for the pilot of “Boardwalk Express,” which follows the rise of organized crime in 1920s Atlantic City. It's based on Nelson Johnson's book "Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City." * David Simon, creator of HBO’s “The Wire” and “Generation Kill” (premiering Sunday), is now ramping up the pilot for “Treme,” a proposed new HBO series set in post-Katrina New Orleans. * Larry David is planning another season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” * The proposed “Deadwood” TV-movies are now said to be officially dead. * The fifth season of “Entourage” and the first season of “True Blood” (“Six Feet Under” creator Alan Ball’s new vampire series) both launch Sept. 7.
