I can't help it. Heroes has jumped the shark for me.
-
in TomBodet; we can't have somebody else dozing off! ;)
-
The last season of Heroes made me sleepy. This year I'm expect they'll introduce a new hero: The Sominex. At least TomBodet will leave the light on for ya.
-
But it's not looking good for K-Bell. She's gone after 5 episodes, we know that now. All that's left in this endgame is how she leaves. And it better be vertically or else that will be the dealbreaker for this fan.
-
i remember that show. wasn't it on like two years ago?..ha ha
it had promise. i wonder if everyone has sorta moved on since the off-time. well, everyone except the hayden stalkers. -
my guess? the same way as they brought back Claire's dad.
-
she may have the lamest power yet but she has the finest booty.
-
I like Heroes, I cut it a fair bit of slack after the mediocre 2nd season. Let's hope they step it up for S3.
-
It's become a soap opera with benefits. Smallville may be off its rocker, but at least it fucking TRIES!
-
And they fix that with cheerleader blood I presume? Just give us a decent villain this time. Sylar's fine and all but we need a mastermind to compete with the psychos.
-
Between the awfulness of season 2 and being off the air for nearly a year does anyone really still care about this show? I guarantee you its ratings end up in the toilet this year.
-
Copycat needs to do a Bruce Lee scene where she kicks the shit out of armed gangbangers. Also copycat needs to be the FIRST mask/costume in the series. This cause blowback with the company. As a subplot Nikki's-Jessica's boy uses his ability to get video clips from the whole internet to allow her to complete missions.
2:Unless we start to see Peter being god like then his character will be squandered. Enough of the flip floping. I want to see Peter go apeshit on Sylar.
3: Sylar needs to a good story or he remains one dimensional.
4: Hiro. All Heroes fans want the transformation into the pony tailed godhand sword master. Enough of the office worker.
5: Electro girl: I want to see her develpong a campaign of insane proportions against Sylar. Want to see her go rogue against the company and keep making Sylar her bitch.
6: I want to see a nod to a DC character. Since heores loves Stan Lee (the cameo slut that he is) we need a DC nod in the show. Maybe a character who doesnt have powers but goes vigilantes on them and the company. ( A cross betwen Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark and Frank Castle).
7: and finally we see clairebear go all Wolvrine like. I want to see claire put in lots of danger shit and shock everyone by going feral on them. -
Just spent a good 5 minutes looking for this on BBCi. Obviously it's not there.
-
it's just one big reset button...
half the characters can either raise the dead, or go back in time to fix anything that goes wrong.
I do like the look of that neardy girl from FNL as a speedster, kind of reminds me of early Impulse. but, as we all know, kring doesn't read comics, so it's just a coinsidence... -
..its not like a show called Angel did the whole "body swap" of a guy in "prison" with a "super hero". and im sure even angel wasnt the first to do that.. geeze this show.. why? why do people continue to watch it? i gave it a chance until the most underwhelming season finale in television history in season 1. seriously, all i wanted were some fucking superheroes to throw some shit around and actually fight. is that too hard to ask?
-
Lots of Hero bashing here. I need to revisit this series maybe I'm missing something but I liked it. I probably shouldn't drink so much... or maybe drink more.
-
Yes. :) And yay to wowsah's plan for season 3.
-
This is just my guess, but it's based on spoiler hints: Nathan returns alive, and he now has the ability to see the spirits of the dead.
-
I get to bang the Cheerverine in real life, not in the future, but in the frakkin' here and now. I've got it made! :)

I would love to see Linderman back in action, but I really dislike the fact that Claire's blood appears to be a permanent way to cheat death.
What is really at stake when you have a way to bring everybody back to life all the time? What dramatic tension can there be when you have unlimited do-overs? -
And did it better I might add, to paraphrase the famous South Park quote in regards to The Simpsons.
-
fuck nbc!
-
Excuse me, did I actually see the actor who played Marlo Stanfield in "The Wire" on the season 3 trailer? That would be cool. He is there for a only a second, but I think it is him.
-
whats the deal with that?
-
How the fuck would Claire go Wolverine like on anyone? She just has his healing factor! No fighting skills or anything that could be rendered deadly. -
mostly thanks to the WGA strike
-
unlikely i would have thought you have to have a stable base as a franchise, everyones watching to see if they pull it out of the bag for season 3 or it gets dumped from everyones viewing timetable. so not only are we rippign off comic books that have never been read, but angel that he's never probably watched either. how does he get these ideas that pop out of his head from nowhere? sylar needs a band of villians. hoping the arkham aslyum escapes team up, to lay the smack down on the "heroes" season 4... sucide squad!
-
Heroes has turned into a vortex made of pure suck.
Not going to bother. I used to love the show, but they've mishandled it worse than FOX mishandled "Sliders". -
Lets depower Peter AGAIN instead of giving everyone what they want - a pissed-off Peter out for blood after the death of his brother while also having to continue to learn how to control his powers and eventually cross paths with Sylar (or another, more powerful villain) and battle - FOR REAL.
In other Heroes news, Claire goes back to hating her dad and Hiro does nothing until episode 8. I mean, I'll still watch the beginning of the season, but they have a LOT of faith to win back. -
I see that the Office and Heroes is being pimped today, but where's Burn Notice? Is it not a NBCUni property?
-
Well, goodbye. I'm going home to 24 next January.
-
Maybe the Webseries will use some of the story ideas that were to be used for Origins. But I'm glad that Origins was canceled -- the producers and NBC need to focus on the main show itself. They're already having a hard enough time keeping it interesting, and a spin-off series would probably spread things out too thin in the Heroes-verse.
-
There's a lot of promise in the material but the show runners (TK) don't understand super hero story arcs and myths... and they don't have much of a grasp of science and logic either.
-
I forgot to mention in my previous post, there are quite a few good to outstanding superhero movies that have raised the bar of this genre in so many ways... If Season 3 is any where near the (poor) quality of S2 and parts of S1, the ratings are just going to plummet even further.
-
if linderman returns, then the entire concept of "kill the brain, and you are a goner" is no longer true, and there goes alot of the continuity...including claires being thought to be dead with a stick in her head...she shouldve immediatly regenerated, even with the stick...trying to repair the show by killing continuity is not the way to go...wanna save the show??? have tons of side boob shots of bell and panitierre...i know they dont have much to show...but it will still boost the ratings...oh, and need lots of lesbian supers...how about a lesbian super who's powers are to make straight chicks gay....lesbians=ratings....and kill off mohinder....kill him off in the first show...if i ever hear "my father's research" again, im gonna shoot my tv
-
hire peter milligan...that guy is great at creating totally off the wall heroes
-
running amok with super powers and eye liner ...ill give it a shot.. if i wanted those super hot girls in leather and eye liner, i would hit up porn...
-
I think season 2 was the worse shit I've seen in a while, but I'll be giving season 3 a few episodes all because of one man - Marlo Fucking Stanfield (Jamie Hector)! Hopefully he's around for a while.
-
yes, I hate all caps, but I need to bring the truth.I don't read comics, but I'm sure many of you do. and one thing I know with ABSOLUTE certainty, is that anyone complaining about the abundance of "reset buttons" in Heroes needs to be hit with a hypocrite bat. EVERY COMIC DOES THIS OVER AND OVER! soooooo many characters die, and are resurrected. or their "spirit" comes back. or their evil lost twin brother. or they are reborn in an alternate universe. or they comes to THIS universe from an alternate universe. to complain about this on Heroes is disingenuous.now, that said, it can be used as a way to bring back characters we loved, or it can be used as a way to avoid actually eliminating people from the storyline. it's gotten to be a bit much. healing injuries with claire's blood? fine. bringing back lindermann and his brain mush? eh, not so much.this series faltered because it lost BRYAN FULLER. fuller was the one that really knew how to write well and ratchet up the tension in season 1. remember all those mindfuck final 5 minute twists he pulled off? those were BRILLIANT, and they were a part of what everyone loved about the first season.in season 2, the EXACT OPPOSITE WAS DONE. there would be an "oh shit" moment, and 70 seconds later, the "wait, it's ok, and here's why" moment. THAT WAS THE LOSS OF CONSEQUENCE, nto the reset buttons of claire's blood and hiro's power. the loss of our perception of risk, orf there being a possibility (for a week interval) that shit was seriously fucked up. that is what we spent hours in the talkback obsessing about. possibilities, scenarios, character's futures...and in season 2, they wrapped every episode up too neatly. even when it was cool, it was like, "ok, that was that, I guess I'll see you next week", and when it wasn't so good, we didn't even have endless speculation to hang our collective hats on.bring back Fuller, save the world. and also bring back chrth, ikamono, ororo, napoleon park, pennsy, and even all the haters.and look on the bright side kids. even if this show gets really terrible. I mean, horrendously stupid, flawed, completely inconsistent and meaningless, and our expectations are so low, and we become so slack-jawed that we tolerate it...then we can finally watch Lost!

BadMrWonka...who said that they should take the worst from comic
by bacci40
trust me, most fan boys hate when they kill off someone just to bring him back...i mightve been alone, but i despised the death of superman storyline as well as the breaking of batman's back, the spidey clones and everything else....the only good resurection stories were the dark phoenix (which made sense) and morrisons run on doom patrol...and kring stated emphatically at the start of the series that when someone died...they would stay dead...not my fault that linderman died in such a shitty way...not my fault that they couldnt come up with a better villian, but are now turning to mrs petrelli...not my fault that while lost has gone out of its way to hire writers with experience in comic books, kring has gone out of his way to not...and yes, losing fuller killed the show...and as his own is a big hit, dont think he will be coming back...unless chenowith has a breast reduction (god forbid) here is what i know. unless heroes first 3 epis are bombastic, the show is dead...
-
but it also uses flashbacks and some sort of dream power, which is my personal pick for Linderman scenes if he is making prophecies and all that.
-
that Bryan Fuller hadn't left the show!
-
Cos when series 3 kicks off - and you haters and moaners are off watching - well, what will you be watching in this genre? - I can enjoy the show and the talkback with people who like the series. Series 2 wasn't great, but it wasn't awful either. There were some good moments in that - and compared to the crap there is out there in this genre, I think Heroes entertains. Roll on series 3 - you have a fan in me. The premise of new villians running amok...new characters...new threats...it's geek indulgence and I look forward to it. And having seen this preview, I was very optimistic.
-
yeah, mohinder is annoying as hell, but the thing that'll make me shoot my TV is when they bring back alejandro (and we all know they will. nothing stays dead here...), and we have one more conversation made of
- Maya!
- Alejandro!
- Maya!
- Alejandro!
- Maya!
- Ay Dios Mio!
- Maya!
...goes to infinite. -
that Nathan is really dead. There is no way they would spoil that in a trailer.
http://vimeo.com/1318585 -
That guy sucks dick as a writer. His only "talent' in comics is to hook up with a talented/popular artist so the idiot fanboys won't notice that he's a fucking hack.
-
Even though season two sucked gigantic elephant balls...and even if the writing sucks and there's no good cliffhangers for season three...I will watch. I have a problem. I'm a Heroes watcher. And no matter how bad this gets, I will never watch Lost.
-
I still watch this show, but dang, I never liked the amnesia and I wonder if this body swapping will be any better? They pull out the oldest cliches for him rather than give some limits to his powers. They never let him go loose in a fight because either they're too cheap to do it right (which is a huge problem I think), or it'd be too hard to explain why he doesn't win--but that's why he needs limitations, not crazy cliches to put him out of action. It's as maddening as Clark Kent not flying on Smallville, or Superman always getting "killed" in a Justice League story cause he overshadows everyone else. We have yet to see Peter actually DO any super heroic feats with his powers. Flying off to save the city from himself isn't right, he needs to save people from an external threat rather than something caused by his existance. Until he like stops a 747 from hitting the Empire Statue Buidling, he hasn't really realized his initial potential, and until he does that these little tricks that take him out of the action are just a cock tease. If they don't do a Matrix Revolutions style super fight with him and Sylar this year, they are useless.
-
if Alejandro gets rebooted, too.

Does anyone know roughly what Heroes average budget per ep is?
by pennsy
I'm usually good at finding out this kind of stuff, but that one slipped through. I read somewhere that BSG's is about 1.3m/episode. Yet they produce feature film-quality visual effects. If does infuriate me that Heroes' visual effects, on a broadcast network show, no less, fall short of a basic cable's.

because i like his ideas
-
that's how it should read in my last post
-
when it first came out. But the plot was to drawn out and there were too many characters to deal with. The writers strike put the final nail in the coffin for me. I can't even remember what the fuck happened last.
-
It has been a while since I have seen any of this, but maybe they could do something where the people who are healed by Claire's blood become dependent on it. That seems like it would make it a little less of a cop-out.
-
I just never really got into the second season of this show. Hell, I didn't even realize it was still on.
-
he could have easily healed himself. he's different than claire or adam, so the same rules may not apply.
-
I'm talking superpower vs. superpower. they finally give the heroes some real villians to fight, which is exactly what the fans have been asking for all along, and yet here we are, still complaining.
-
we never see linderman self heal...apparently his power was to heal others...in any case, his brain was smooshed...if they use the claire blood thingy, its a copout
-
just because we never saw him self heal, doesn't mean it's not possible.
-
With everybody having a pint of Peter's or Claire's blood in the safe "just in case", there's no real tension.
-
If this season is even nearly as good as the first, I'd be very surprised. Too much time's gone by, and by the end of the series I saw a trend I didn't like... plotline cop-outs. So... meh.
-
and he finds he likes it and spends the rest of the series playing with his new boobs
-
Marvel really dropped the ball in letting this show ever get of the ground. The writers obviously took and continue to take ideas from x-men titles. Fuck, I haven't read an x-men in 10 years but the heroes stories are so reminiscent of ones I remember, its a wonder they haven't be sued. Maybe Marvel could still show they how it could be done well with a proper x-men TV show (which Heroes has shown can be done on a TV budget)......
-
The Saturday schedule for ComicCon just went live, and the Heroes panel will be from 10:45-11:45AM Pacific with a preview of season 3. Confirmed are Kring, Tim Sale, Jack Coleman, Greg Grunberg, Ali Larter, James Kyson Lee, Masi Oka, Hayden Panettiere, Adrian Pasdar, Zachary Quinto,Sendhil Ramamurthy, Dania Ramirez, Cristine Rose, Milo Ventimiglia.
Talk about a bitch-slap in Bell's face. If that doesn't confirm she's done with the show, nothing will. -
...everyone thought this was going to be the next big thing?
hah. -
Remember during the same time period everyone was prepared to say Lost was dead? The problem isn't that people said this was good when it wasn't, it was just that they said it could do no wrong and then it did wrong. Now people are saying it can do no right, and that is equally untrue. I hope that the third season gets more things right than wrong, but I don't see how people can say it will be pure good or bad, sight unseen.
-
Is much like Michael Jackson vs. Prince, in the latter, Price won by default. The same can be said of Lost since Heros second season blew chucks.
-
Heroes has had one good season to Lost's four great seasons. I think its more like Elvis Presley vs Shakin Stevens than Prince vs Michael Jackson.
