Espenson To Pen Cylon-Centric GALACTICA DVD/TV-Movie??
I am – Hercules
Galactica Sitrep reports that the “Battlestar Galactica” TV-movie expected to shoot in August will be directed by star Edward James Olmos from a screenplay by Jane Espenson (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” “Firefly,” “Gilmore Girls”).
We asked Espenson if she could confirm or deny. Response: "Sorry, no comment."
Sitrep says actors being pursued for the project include Dean Stockwell, Michael Trucco, Aaron Douglas, Grace Park and Michael Hogan, all of whom play Cylons. Oh, and Katee Sackhoff.

I wish I watched more Battlestar Galactica. But this sounds cool. Cylon centric? Now, that's re-invention.
-
less jibber jabber
-
That's good. It must be the story of how the Final Five infiltrated the colonies.
-
That guy needs to be booted.
So are we to make the extrapolation that Starbuck is the final Cylon from this?
-
...and will pose more questions to be answered long after our curiosity is peaked.
-
They'll hit the reset button?
-
Michael Hogan is one of the best actors on BSG.
-
since all Jane seems to do is comedy episodes of BSG.
-
If this is cylon centric story, and Starbuck is in it as the only human, perhaps she is the final cylon...
-
he has directed some of the most awful episodes of BSG. and they let him direct this tv-movie?
-
One of my favourites of season 4. Really excellent character episode.
-
Espenson is a damn good writer, and hey - it can't be as bad as that godsawful concept that is fucking CAPRICA? Can it?
Lunch: chicken curry.
-
Love her Buffy stuff. Earsot, Superstar, A New Man, Band Candy. She's one of TV's most brilliant writers.
-
and he is so proud of himself
-
FUCK EM!!!!
-
Can't stress that enough....
-
That was Marti Noxon's genius at work. Apparently, it doesn't look like she's been working much in the business since her failed FOX series.
-
She's a fantastic, fantastic writer. Her episodes have been some of the best of the show, and you can really feel her producer presence this season.
Here's hoping she gets picked up by Whedon for Dollhouse, instead of sticking with the (I'm assuming) mediocre 'Warehouse 13.' Or maybe that will be genius. Either way, I can't wait to see where she goes from here.
-
It certainly looks likes TPTB heard your request for a Cylon centered movie.
It would be really great if they go all the way with your idea and show us the Cylon homeworld!
-
YEA! History/Origin of Skinjobs--with 8's running all over the damn place! Or something like that, anyway. (I bet the Hybrid makes an appearance, too........)
happy 4th to you, sir!
-
larry harmon is gonna come back and haunt you all
-
Now that's cool news!
-
is not the final cylon.
-
tis all good...
-
they sure want you to think she's the final cylon, but the red herrings are getting a bit too pickled lately.
-
You know him as number 4 - Simon. The tall black Cylon. Who doesn't get to say anything anymore. Who also is the only Cylon with no back story whatsoever.
-
then they've managed to spoil and fuck up the best series ever!!!
-
That show has so jumped its frakin shark.
-
anyway more BSG is always welcome. not sure what to think of caprica but i cant get enough of the core series.best sci fi show since Babylon5 <---bring on the hate talkbackers!!!
-
You guys call yourselves fans, did you not hear Diana when she said 4 of the final 5 were in the fleet? At that time, Starbuck was in the fleet. So unless she was just lying, it is not possible for Starbuck to be final cylon. My guess is that the last cylon is in the same place the earthlings ran to!
-
That's why he's trying to destroy us all.
-
here's to hoping.
-
It's obvious, really.
-
it's true, she's such a toaster, she, uh, something stupid!
also, she so poor, i saw her kicking a can down the street, and i asks her what she's doin and she says 'movin'.

-
damn... sry, wrong board.
-
When she came out the womb, the doctor slapped HER MOTHER!
I'll be here all week, yo.
-
...I'm pretty sure he's the final Cylon.
-
this will all tie in to Blade Runner somehow!
-
Happy July 4th to you too!
Regarding the next BSG movie, I am looking forward to getting a deeper understanding of the Final Five, the Cylon "plan" and so forth. Hopefully, we'll get to see this in the fall after the manner of RAZOR.
-
Since Simon is the medical/bio-medical Cylon, one role he could play is to offer revelations concerning the (1) births of the next generation of Cylons as well as (2) the the physical nature of the Final Five.
BTW it would be interesting if a Simon, with vital info, had a change of heart and joined the opposition in the Cylon Civil war.
-
Ok gang, I found a good book for us to read: Stone Gods by Jeanette Winterson. You'll find some real similarities to the show.
Oh, and robot lesbians (It *is* a Jeanette Winterson novel), so there's really something for everyone.
-
I saw all the episodes, including the Planet of the Apes ending....but missed Razor. Was it good? Is it coming back on? What was it about?
-
I said it was shite. Everyone else seems to think it was the Dogs Bollox.
It will be repeated at some point over the next year, but you can rent it, netflix it, download it or even buy it. (It's surely in a bargain basement bin somewhere by now.)
As for what it was about... it was about some character we'd never seen before, doing stuff we'd never seen before, in events (some of which) we had seen before.
-
I'll check it out, mainly b'cause I have little to no life right now. Unemployment rocks!!!
-
all the uproaring hilarity and slapstick, double entendres, and mistaken identities. Remember that one when....wait, what the fuck are you talking about Boomers'Lips?
-
that's all.
-
If they should flash back to when the Cylons are infiltrating the colonies, maybe the Cylons should share an apartment and they can film on the old "Friends" set. It could be comedy gold!
