AICN & FANTASTIC FEST present HELLBOY 2 with Guillermo Del Toro, Mike Mignola & Doug Jones in Austin this July 8th!!!
Hey folks, Harry here - This HELLBOY 2 event is really going to be something. Rush to the Fantastic Fest site - get a badge for an amazing weeklong festival and a free screening of HELLBOY 2 to kick your mighty ass. Everyone that's cool says it's the happy finish you're looking for!
Fantastic Fest and AICN present Guillermo del Toro live with Hellboy II, July 8 As many of you are already aware, the most awesomest thing that ever was, is or will be is happening next week in Austin. Director Guillermo del Toro is personally bringing his film HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY to the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar next Tuesday, July 8, for a free advance screening and Q&A after the film! Our theater has already been inundated with calls and emails frantically requesting seats and information. Not that we didn't expect this madness when we booked the event, but it must be properly set up here at the onset that seating is unfortunately limited and not everyone will get in. Due to the incredibly high demand for these tickets, the only people who are even eligible to get in are the Fantastic Fest Badge Holders. If you have not purchased a Fantastic Fest badge, please check out our website: www.fantasticfest.com for more information about the event. Badges start at $40 for the 2008 Fest and I dare say, it's the most fun week of the entire year at the Alamo. Fantastic Fest features screenings of over 65 of the best new action, horror, science fiction and fantasy films of the year and is the largest event of its kind in the United States. We have reserved a section of seats for existing Fantastic Fest badge holders (this offer has already been sent), but have reserved a section of seats for new badge purchasers as well. There will be more events for Fantastic Fest badge holders only leading up to the festival, so if you are on the fence, now is a good time to commit. If you are interested in getting in to this event, you must send an email to rsvp@fantasticfest.com with I'LL BE DAMNED in the subject line (NO MORE NO LESS, SCREW THAT UP AND YOU WON'T BE CONSIDERED) and include the exact name of the person who purchased the badge. When the list has been made, we will post the names on the Alamo Blog at www.originalalamo.blogspot.com. Each badge is good for one [1] ticket, but that DOES NOT mean that if you have a badge you automatically have a ticket. Good luck and we hope to see you both on July 8, but also on September 18 for Fantastic Fest 2008.

That there's a movie called Hellboy II is coming out and aparently the people who run this website are very excited ($$$) about it. Any more links to commercials?
-
I wonder if Josh Holloway(however you spell his name) would work for Captain America?
-
...In Columbus, OHIO?
I mean, we DID have the awesomely cool Jeff Smith exhibit at the Ohio State University Cartoon Research Library--but what kind of demonic incantation will bring a bit of Hollywood...or AICN for that matter to Ohio's Capital City?
Any Ideas?
-
i lived in Cincinnati, OH. I moved to Austin. Hope that helps :P

Is an events coordinator who is capable of mass fellatio.
-
I just paid rent. Harry get me into this show! I'm off the whole weekend. Hook me up!
-
I could save you the trouble and tell you the movie is bad...
-
The email that went out to badgeholders yesterday said that a badge is good for 2 tickets. I really wanted to get a friend into this with me, D'oh!
-
why does austin so kick our ass?
-
Thank you for representing impartial, constructive, immune to payolla journalism on this site.
It's disgusting how the people that run this site can be bought and sold.
-
I love Hollywood movie. The girls are hot and good at dance. Aishywarya, Just saw your profile on a celebrity and millioniarea dating site 【 wealthybeauty.com】. have you ever posted your profile on that site?
-
and do you work for some rival site?
its disgusting how the people who talkback on this website think they are so important that just because their story doesn't get run they bitch about how AIC was bought off.
really? a site full of dorks getting all dorky about dorky stuff? this strikes you as odd?

No. But you actually believe the operators of this site's friendship with people in the industry doesn't sway their opnions on certain projects?
-
if Del Toro was my friend i'd pimp his movie too. especially when he does cool stuff like show up at a premier of his movie.
why would they post a review from some random dude saying the movie sucks? i wouldn't.
here, i'll make you a deal. i'll write in a negative review of The Dark Knight. i don't really like Nolan's take on the material. we'll see if they run it.
-
they have to be in WayneCorp's pocket.
-
...they don't have a relationship with Nolan so posting a bad review means they still wouldn't be posting anything negative about a "friend of the site's" movie.
write a negative review of a Robert Rodriguez film and see if that gets posted.
-
i'll see HBII. you won't see it again. Harry is friends with famous people.
i'm moving on.
-
Move on, that's fine. But I never saw HB2 a first time.
-
You guys read way too much into this. The movie really is being built up too much. I saw it, visually it’s great, the plot is predictable and has enough flaws to make me not enjoy the movie. There is no grand conspiracy to disagreeing with the overwhelming sentiment that this is the best movie of the summer. I will say this, if it’s really as good as some people have written, why would they feel the need to put Red on every major network trying to shill it? I feel like I’m reading reviews on one movie and seeing advertising for another.
-
Nerds like myself are excited about it but on tv I see as many commercials for it as I do any other movie. Some of you are full of shit. Run your own web site and be unbiased if you like and bitch about no one agreeing with you. Personally if I like the people involved in a movie I'll most likely like the movie so non of this is annoying to me. Also they are doing nerds like us a favor by doing these types of screenings, I don't live near so Austin so I can't go but I'm not going to bitch and cry like a baby and claim the site is biased or the movie is crap. You guys act like this is an act of treason. Calm down and shut up. Also steve2292 you're full of shit, reviews from other web sites and papers have been very positive of Hellboy 2 and it's being advertised like any other movie. Are you saying Wall E is a shill too and Hancock and Wanted and Kung Fu Panda and Iron Man... So every movie that is advertised a lot must be bad.
-
Don't call yourself a nerd and then be an anonymous hard ass two sentences later... I didn't say those movies were not also overexposed, in fact I don't remember bringing them up, I just didn't see Wall E or Will Smith on American Gladiators. Let me know if you're on the west coast, I'd like to have you tell me I'm full of shit in person. I saw the movie, didn't like it and shared my opinion. Now if you're in southern California I'd love to discuss this with you in person at your earliest convenience.

Where has all the news gone, guys? ...And yeah, I realize it's the fourth of July. I don't expect to see anything new here on a holiday weekend. But granted that, the lack of news posted on this site -- much less original scoops -- is sad compared to the peak of AiCN, circa the Y2K.
-
I wish Portland, OR had something like this going on once and a while. What is up with the internet tough guys in the talkback right now? I mean this is serious buisness, a movie review.
-
Maybe rewrite your review. Maybe it's the fact that you are calling the movie bad in every talkback yet from your review every bad point is a good point to most people. Maybe go to another site.
-
www.mrcranky.com come out and say goodbye...and if you don't know who Cranky is it is because you were the guy in High School who always got the wrong address for where the party was at

Jinkers I wish I could attend the showing and meet the film makers and actors. Del Toro is such an amazing person and the actors gave such a terrific performances in Hellboy. Have fun everyone!
