Learn Who Plays The Starship’s Engineer In Ronald D. Moore’s Fox Sci-Fi Pilot VIRTUALITY!!

Published at:  Jun 30, 2008 12:35:35 AM CDT

I am – Hercules!!

Clea DuVall, who played the FBI agent in “Heroes,” the psychic babe in “Carnivale,” and the invisible girl in “Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” will assay the starship Phaeton’s co-pilot and engineer in “Virtuality,” the Fox sci-fi pilot from “Battlestar Galactica” writer-producers Ronald D. Moore and Michael Taylor.

Erik Jensen (“The Bronx Is Burning”) and Jose Pablo Cantillo (“Standoff”) will play the ship’s navigator and mathematician, respectively. Captain Pike, we learned earlier, is played by the guy who played the immortal cop in “New Amsterdam.”

Find all of The Hollywood Reporter’s story on the matter, plus some casting news regarding Fox’s Jekyll & Hyde project “Inseparable” here.

Will they just make a Buffy movie and end it already?

    by stormwatcher

Watching season 5 right now. Borrowed that huge box set, that is where I left off back in 2000. Gotta say, holds up. But seriously, why no movie? Glad that if it was between Buffy and Firefly we got Firefly but still..... Also I miss hot Cordelia, and have never watched Angel so not really sure its worth getting into.

    Buffy movie:

    by fiester

It would not do much better than Firefly at the box office. Buffy never had the mass appeal as say The Sopranos, The Simpsons, The X-Files, or even (god help us) Sex and The City. Great show but still very much a cult show with actors people remember as teenagers growing older as we read this.

    Meh...

    by sebilrazen

I liked her in "But I'm a Cheerleader" and "The Faculty," but she comes across as too cynical to be believable in a Sci-Fi series.
I was going to say I liked her in "She's All That" and "Can't Hardly Wait," but realized I'd have to hand in my hetero-sexual membership card.

    Makes sense

    by panthermatt

DuVall makes sense, casting-wise. I believe Ron Moore was showrunner for Carnivale (season one, maybe?). Certainly Mrs. Ron worked on that show. She was costumer, wasn't she?

    Hmmm.

    by follow_who

A Nathan Fillion Look-A-Like as the captain and a female engineer. I wonder who will play the priest and who will bring laughs as the strongarm enforcer with a soft heart buried way underneath?

Can I have my Firefly back please?

    Panther:

Ron Moore was indeed one of three EPs on Carnivale's first season. And his future (at the time) wife, Terry Dresbach, was Costume Designer on the first season as well.

    WTF is this bullshit?

    by punto

whe you all saw that headline, you automatically assumed that the ship engineer would be a man. It's true and you know it. And now that it's a chick, you complain she's manly? STFU now.

Jayne Cobb didn't have a soft heart underneath

    by tallboy66

Jayne was simply id and very simple, which is why he was funny, there wasn't much to him. He didn't want Mal to tell the Tams he sold them out on Ariel but, really, the dude was about to die, he'd say about anything.
