1st Trailer for Miyazaki's PONYO ON THE CLIFF is 非常に奇妙な

Published at:  Jun 29, 2008 4:06:19 AM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here with the first trailer from Hayao Miyazaki's PONYO ON THE CLIFF which is 非常に奇妙な. I mean it, this thing is just plain 非常に奇妙な. So 非常に奇妙な that I don't know what else to say about it, other than it is 非常に奇妙な. Thanks goes to Chris Brown who discovered this 非常に奇妙な trailer for the new Miyazaki film - which you can see below. But tell me, did you think it was 非常に奇妙な?

This one's just to show Goro how it's really done. He'll never retire. He's said as much; he'll just move on to shorts to show in his animation museum and leave features to others... except for when he has a "no, NO, it's supposed to be like THIS" moment and takes over the project. I believe that's how we ended up with him directing HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE.

Hayao Miyazaki almost lost my respect because of a terrible and contrived movie Howl's Moving Castle. At least Spirited Away is best remembered for providing one of the best movie-going experiences in recent years. Hayao should stick to original storytelling instead of "loosely" adapting books to produce consistently good quality films.
