Tim Olyphant, who played angry South Dakota sheriff Seth Bullock on “Deadwood,” will play the new man in young lawyer Ellen Parsons’ orbit on FX’s “Damages.” Olyphant’s big-screen credits include “Go,” “The Girl Next Door” and “Live Free or Die Hard.” William Hurt, who worked with “Damages” star Glenn Close in “The Big Chill” a quarter century ago, also joins the series’ cast this season.
