Info on the SOUTH PARK movie...
Hey folks, Harry here. Just wanted to drop you SOUTH PARK maniacs a line telling you that Matt Stone contacted me yesterday to give me a heads up on where the SOUTH PARK film is vs where it was when our intrepid spy saw the film. It seems that Matt actually agreed with the reviewer and felt that 'it was balanced and actually on the mark', however... He wants all you shaking terrified SOUTH PARK viewers to know, that the problems he had with the film they are aware of... And have come a long way towards fixing. You see, that print is about 3 months old, and it has been changed quite a bit. Apparently just yesterday he and Trey went through and changed (completely) 2 minutes of stuff in the last 2 reels. He's quite proud of the work he and Trey have done in the last few months calling it "quantum leaps" forward for the film. "Its shorter, the songs are faster, the boring
Kenny subplot isn't there anymore (because we too thought it was boring)
etc."
He just wanted to make sure that you folks out there new that he was on the case and was doing all he can to make the film the best fucking South Park around. Personally I know Quint, Tom Joad and Hooper are all ecstatic to hear that. They're the biggest bunch of SOUTH PARK yankers I've seen. Hours in front of that damn video game I tell ya... The power of urine snowballs is unmatched in the history of video game weaponry. The only defense is Talcum Powder.

Its great to hear that they are fixing the problems mention, nothing could be worse than bringing out a inferior film to the excellent tv show
Cartman Rules!! -
Everything Stone and Parker has done has been hysterical and ballsy. This movie won't be an exception. The fact that they are willing to admit the movie had problems says a whole lot about them, unlike someone like Shwarzenegger who promotes movies like "Eraser" as being wonderful when he must know that it is not.

These poor two kids! Adopted hometown heroes, but not as intelligent or creative as we originally thought. I hope they're having as much fun in Hollywood as they can while their fifteen minutes last. Somehow, these two came out of a truly weak film school (University of Colorado, Boulder) with saleable product; not so much the South Park television show, but all the millions they must make in the merchandising. Cannibal The Musical is painful, at best. Orgazmo, a sad waste of time. And Baseketball, the reality of the Hollywood grind creeps in. I must admit that the true reason I hate them is that they did it before I did. Nothing personal. As a bitter aspiring filmmaker who is concentrating more on screenwriting than production, I envy their position right now. With an intelligent script and the small power their names have in Hollywood, they could be a new powerful force in filmmaking. Instead they were tricked into starring in something as forgettable and doomed for the cutout rack as Baseketball; a major strike against them. But I guess they were unaware at the time that South Park would hit like it did. Orgazmo, whew! Anything involving Mormoms and porn at the same time is doomed to a poor box office showing. Cannibal was another indie production and the best of the non-South Park stuff in the can. But they were able to actually complete two indie films even if they were bad, no small feat! So they turn to the inevitable South Park The Movie. I wish both the boys the best of luck. I'll be in line to see it when it comes out; it is South Park and South Park is actually funny, displaying the sense of humor these two possess. But I hope for their sake that next they come up with some type of story that will translate to a box office success. Not that South Park won't be or isn't, but it is time to move on. They are in the enviable position of being able to actually pitch a script and be taken seriously. If you waste anymore time, I'm gonna catch up and blow you out of the water. Intelligence and good story on the page translates to intelligence and good story on the screen. I'm getting tired of spending hours on the Hill with the dirty hippies and the frat boys.

The days of South Park are numbered. There are just so many topics of taboo that can be covered. Once you have made as many jokes about every body function imaginable, every single body excretion, mocking all aspects of religion, fill it with every sexual reference possible and mix it in with swearing kids, gore and make death seem funny, WHAT'S LEFT? Repeat it all over? Hey, I like blue humor as much as the next guy. I love Howard Stern, Andrew Dice Clay and the like, it's just that South Park to me seems like they throw in those types of jokes because they are expected, not because they enhance a story line. I don't see South Park being around in three years from now, because the public will crave something more that can't possibly be offered.

south park????????
what in tarnations is southpark??????? -
enhance a story line? Southpark? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! C`mon you dont honestly think a show that features a talking turd to be concerned with enhancing a story line...hehehehe.....

People please, can this movie truly be better than a glorified version of the show, with more raunchy humor, and an uncensored mind numbing version of the allready ridiculously over popular over hyped show. Granted I have laughed at the show before, and granted I thought a few segments were funny, but the show gets caught up in it's own hype and seems to play to the audience with mindless trash in order for sixteen and seventeen year olds to laugh at the rude crude animation and go "yeah that was cool" people I know the show is funny sometimes, but it can't hold a candle to the creativity behind the one true cartoon "The Simpsons" nuff said. When Beavis and Butthead lost their audience something had to fill the void, and South Park has followed suit perfectly, the movie was the next step. For everyone that loves this show Im sorry but its the truth, out!

I don't know what intellectual cloud my head was in this whole time, but I think Principal Kahotec's comment is true! You see, the whole time, I thought that the crude humor and odd behavior depicted in the show hid a deeper, more profound meaning. I watched and watched as Kenny died every week.... as Mr. Hanky, the piece of turd, swept South Park with a flood of sewer shit... as little goldfish jumped out of their bowls and murdered children... and yes, even when alien technology grew out of Cartman's ass... and thought that these were symbolic, yet humorous, comments on society!!! Maybe even up to the level of the Simpsons!! And i thought that the simplistic animation was meant to highlight the story more than just the graphics!! Thank you thank you Kahotec for letting me see the light.... the "truth" as you say. I would have never known. And by the way, Kahotec.... you a dumbass!!!!!

Nuff said. Just read his comments. Is his bloated ego big enough to actually make it as a Hollywood asshole? Let's all pray together tonight, and hopefully we won't ever be forced to endure any of his "art." Forget the prayers. He'll be living with Mom again soon enough. Don't forget, Henry. Taco Bell is hiring.

Have the producers of this movie realised that IF South Park goes against the animation king this summer...Tarzan WILL beat SP? Yes! Tarzan is a sure win and SP is a sure loss. Tarzan has already grossed $1 million in four theaters for the premiere! SP doesn't even have a chance in Hell of beating Tarzan. Besides...SP is probably going to be a sucky movie anyway. Maybe about anywhere from $2million to $5 million on it's opening weekend. Anybody agree with me?

If you think The Simpsons is a better cartoon you suck!! It's not. It is soooo unoriginal whereas South Park breaks boundaries. C'mon, Jesus as a talk show host, a Terrence and Philip show that was nuts, and the way they make fun of celebs kicks ass. If you don't like South Park think to yourself for a moment and check your age. You may be too old to appreciation comedy for this generation. I'm 24 and South Park makes perfect sense to me. And y there is no Simpsons movie is cuz I sure a fuck would not wanna see it. By the way Harry, if denise richards getting naked is the spoiler you can tell us now j/k
South Park is for the ppl that hate the MPAA and moral America that throws us bullshit like The Simpsons, futurama, king of the Hill and worst of all Daria. Also if this movie doesn't do well, it's probably cuz PC fags won't go, end of story. -
Nice to see you back, Principal Kahoutec, after that incident with you and that "boy" of yours...

I've read alot of the comments about the anticiplation surrounding the SouthPark movie...Some contain some shots at Trey and Matt for doing Baseketball. I for one LOVED the movie. All my friends laugh hysterically when they actually watch the movie. But this thing had SO much bad press surrounding it that one even gives it a chance. I have to twist my friends' arms backwards and forwards to watch the movie and once they do they love it! We've been quoting lines from it all semester and I suggust all you little bitches out there should really give the movie a try.
May the Force be with you. -
"If you think The Simpsons is a better cartoon you suck!! It's not" Well thought out argument there njsarchasm. Then again I would expect it after reading that spew.

Haha that is breaking boundaries??? I admit South Park has some funny episodes. But South Park uses vulgarity as a crutch to get laughs. The Simpsons, being on nework TV, cannot do the same. As a result, their writers have a harder time making their show funny, and when it is funny, deserves a hell of a lot more credit than South Park. I also admit that the last few years of the Simpsons have been overall rather disappointing. However, I'd take the first few years of the Simpsons over anything South Park has or ever will produce. That was when the Simpsons was groundbreaking..a network cartoon series in primetime..unheard of at the time.

njsarchasm, The reason you don't like the Simpsons is that you can only appreciate comedy that is vulgar apparently. Your loss.

Ehifp or whatever the hell your name is, ya you get what Im saying. See the thing is, anyone can write a cartoon in which a bunch of animated children sit around and talk dirty, it's been done, and whats more it will continue to be copied cuz it does get laughs, and sometimes done right can be funny. But the fact is, South Park does not try to break new ground, and the creators even acknowledge that. They get a kick out of Cartman using racial slurs and cussing out his friends like everyone else. But the fact is, that type of humor just is not that creative, and I never felt the Simpsons actually should have their own movie, I don't think it would work, I do however feel it is a far superior show when you consider the amount of modern pop culture it spoofs, if you ever get a chance get your hands on a script if you can and take a gander, you will be blown away at the amount of film and cultural refrences that are thrown into each show without anyone catching them.

Heh heh heh...people think that Soth Park has some deep meaning behind it's taling turds and chicken fucking. Thats a funn one. Heh heh heh. Turds. Heh heh heh. Oh I see. A town covered in poop is actually a comment on our society as an opressive, corrupt, capitalist waste land with a constantly lowering glass ceiling that makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. Wow. I thought that since South Park is all about using basic and stupid humor, the turds were just supposed to be funny in a gross, second grade playground type of way. Give me a break. South Park doesn't have any message behind it, and never claimed to.
-
One of the main reasons why THE SIMPSONS is funnier than SOUTH PARK, is because THE SIMPSONS is truer to life. As Homer (and other characters) have said over the years: "It's funny 'cause it's true." A talking piece of turd can only go so far.

Hopefully this awful show's 15 minutes of fame will run out soon and it'll go the way of POWER RANGERS. This show is an insult to the medium of animation.

That's about it!
