Wanna Know Who Stars In DC’s WONDER WOMAN DVD Movie??
I am – Hercules!!
On the “Batman: Gotham Knight” DVD due in two weeks, there’s a 10-minute featurette on the upcoming animated Wonder Woman DVD movie directed by Lauren Montgomery (“Superman Doomsday”) and based on the 1987 George Perez relaunch that pitted the Amazon princess against god of war Ares.
It’s been known for a few months (but not widely publicized) who landed the roles of Diana of Themyscira and Steve Trevor, but the featurette fills us in on three more key roles:
Keri Russell: Princess Diana
Nathan Fillion: Steve Trevor
Alfred Molina: Ares
Virginia Madsen: Hippolyta
Rosario Dawson: Artemis
Fans of the old Lynda Carter show know Steve is Diana’s flyboy love interest; Hippolyta is queen of the Amazons and Diana’s mom. Artemis is the Amazon who threatens to castrate Steve if he comes “within five yards” of Diana.
The featurette also reveals that the project’s writer is Michael Jelenic, whose credits include “The Batman” and “Legion of Super Heroes” Saturday-morning TV shows.

I like it...
-
Where's my LIVE ACTION version!!???
-
What happened to "Teen Titans: The Judas Contract"? Wasn't that supposed to come after "Batman: Gotham Knight"?
-
They need to stop dicking around with the big 3 over at dc and start introducing the general public to other heroes...i mean how badass would an animated verision of green lantern rebirth or sinestro corps be. i know for a fact it would be cooler than a wonder woman toon.
-
Those first six issues (collected in the WW: GODS AND MORTALS trade paperback) would make a solid WONDER WOMAN movie as well. And the WW: CHALLENGE OF THE GODS trade would make a great sequel.
I hope you're paying attention, Joel Silver! Have your people call my people if you want a screenplay draft...

-
...now backburnered because Warner Home Video thinks there's not a big enough audience for something that awesome.
And yes, the guys at WHV are obviously a bunch of inbred douchebags.

-
Why isn't he the Green Lantern already?
-
Keri's hot...I hope the Capt's tappin' it!
-
Or does Batman: Gotham Knight look cooler then The Dark Knight?
-
who gives a fuck ?
-
Know Lyle Waggoner, Know Peace. He was the first centerfold for Playgirl, for shit's sake, and a finalist for the 60s Batman role before young upstart Adam West beat him out!
-
woman has to save dude = not compelling. to anyone. it's biological.
-
Keri Russell would make an excellant Wonder Woman for the live version - DC are you listening?
-
Put that cast in front of the cameras, thanks!

I love andimated flems!
-
Was a turd nugget. Seeing that after Ultimate Avengers 2 doesn't make me all to happy in the pants to see any more animated comic movies. How was the Iron Man or Dr. Strange animated flicks?
-
...Keri Russell read her lines while completely naked.
-
got put on the backburner because Superman's Doomsday, as well as the Brainiac feature before it, is a failure according to sales. Warners' outlook is that completely original stories are the way to go, ala Gotham Knight. Not sure how well New Frontier has done. I believe Warners was confused about the premise of Judas Contract also as it is much different than the recent Teen Titans animated show.
-
Well, that's what we were expecting, but you never know how the end result could turn out. Not that I'm spoiled but I'm pretty sure that Rachel HAS to die in order for Dent to completely lose it. Her death would be the ideal event to cement the two characters of Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent together.
-
...and ruin the Wonder Woman costume like how they turned Batman into Aardvarkman (or something... weird, weird variation on the Batsuit) in Gotham Knight?
-
That RS review gives me the willies. Can't wait!
-
No way. Get real she is only 5'4". You'd have to have hobbits play the rest of the roles.
-
...what about Ripley? Exception to your "rule"?
-
Because he's a shitty actor.
-
Should work again.
-
the exception that proves it.
-
How was Ironman and Dr. Strange? You know the Holocaust? Yeah worse than that.
-
With the exception of Russell, this would be a good live action cast.
-
Other than eye-candy?
-
...in a live-action movie. A Wonder Woman movie based on the Perez relaunch would be cool too.
-
Because correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't wonder woman an amazon princess that deflects bullets with her bracelets, flies an invisible plane and lassos people? DC readers are suckers.
-
Was awesome. Superman/Doomsday sucked. Gotham Knight looks good.
-
Turned it off 10 mins into it.
-
Great voice and vocal inflection. I'll watch this with my niece and nephew.
-
I looooove Keri Russell. I think she'll have still have a decent career twenty years from now. The girl can act...Felicity was kind of silly but she was really magnetic. She sparkled in Waitress. Fillion and everyone else quirked it up in that movie but Keri blew them all away by giving us a character that was grounded and real.
-
Thanks
-
if so, awesome
-
I'd rather watch Lynda Carter's jumblies bounce around in reruns!

Here's hoping DC/WB got their shit together after DOOMSDAY sucke

Keep the films faithful to their comics origins and you will make tons of money. Promise!

Please God, give the guy a gorram break.
-
Damn You MCMLXXVI
-
I reckon that eagle head in the middle of her breast plate would dig in to her cleavage and hurt like hell should she do forward somersaults. I know she has wonder skin but it's always bugged me. She'd look good standing next to captain America. They could swap clothes, laugh and swap back again. It'd be a fun five minutes in a crossover special.
-
Who will play Etta Candy?!?
-
Would love to see him in the live version. If only WB had used Joss' script. Damn you, Joel Silver!!!
-
From the people who directed “Superman Doomsday” and wrote “The Batman” and “Legion of Super Heroes”? Superman Doomsday was awful. The New Frontier was half brilliant and then half truncated into nothing. Superman Brainac was for 4 year olds. Some of "the batman" and some of the Legion were ok.. What happened to JLU? I'm hoping this Batman Anime is good, because DC Animated is sucking alomst as much as Marvel's Animated movies. Although Spectacular Spider-man is spectacular!!!
-
Superman/Doomsday wasn't as bad as most people are making it out to be. It was a poor rendition of the "Death of Superman" comics storyline, sure, but on its own it was a good story. There is so much going on in that comics storyline that it would be tough to make a faithful adaptation in a 75min. movie.
-
Just letting you know, Redbox. The last remnant of it was a Justice League Unlimited comic, which just had its final issue a week or two ago. RIP.
-
YES! Anybody who watched Superman/Doomsday thinking it would be a page by page adaptation of the comic is no being realistic. both Superman/Doomsday and New Frontier where cool animated adaptations so long as you have realistic expectations as to what can be adapted in 75 minute film
-
she's not popular or interesting enough.
-
so far he lied. The Batman one might be good but I suspect it will be because of Conroy. Timm said over and over again there wouldn't be the same actors from the animated series but that's what works. This whole concept of trying to remove himself from the BTAS world is dumb dumb dumb! He can't remove himself from it. If he makes the character designs it's always going to have that feel.
-
twisted and R rated. Adapt the Killing Joke or Death in the family. Grow some balls!
The complete neutering and bastardization of icons like Bats and Spider-man for the kiddies in recent years on the WB and CNW has killed quality 2d animated programs for years to come.

I don't watch these new stylized cartoons with their disproportional characters that lack tons of detail. Stuff like that new Transformers shit.

If Bruce Timm has to design the characters he should take that leap forward and ad some more detail to them. Not less. Make something adult. Then I will be interested.

It's straight to DVD. That gives you a lot of freedom I think to tells stories that the BTAS couldn't even though. Even though it was always remained very intelligent and never talked down to its audience.

Get someone who can write! Someone who can manage decent dialog (especially for teenage characters) without trying to talk down to you with childish hip talk like "emo" or any of that bull shit.

Also these take forever to come out. I don't know how anyone can stay interested and wait that long.
