The Shoot Is Out There!! X-FILES Mastermind Chris Carter Has Been Secretly Directing A Movie Called FENCEWALKER??

Published at:  Jun 25, 2008 1:01:54 AM CDT

I am – Hercules!!

Chris Carter’s feature directorial debut “X-Files: I Want To Believe” doesn't hit cinemas for another month, but the 51-year-old filmmaker appears already to be helming a second big-screen effort.

“Fencewalker,” described in Wednesday’s Hollywood Reporter as a dark semi-autobiographical effort devoid of supernatural elements, has been quietly shooting in Greater Los Angeles with “I Want To Believe” (and “Pimp My Ride”) star Xzibit, as well as Derek Magyar (“Star Trek: Enterprise”), Natalie Dormer (“The Tudors”), Mehcad Brooks (“Desperate Housewives”) and Katie Cassidy (“Supernatural”).

Wow, I was surprised when he was in the Xfiles movie, now he's in this as well. He must be doing a better job than i would have guessed if Carter used him twice in a row...

Chris Carter is about as relevant...

    by depalma25

...as, um, X-Files. I'm being a dick, I know, and I did enjoy the first X-Files movie. I just get upset when I read about Sci-Fi film projects. Not since Bladerunner has a director given us, from the genre, something truly wonderous, awe inspiring and visionary. It sounds like this is a bit more paranormal then sci-fi, so i'll reserve judgement. The Terminators were more concerned with spectacle, The Matrix films were more concerned with kung-fu. Dark City has been the last two decades crowning achievment in creating a world with jaw-dropping sci-fi moments

    IMDb turns up nothing...

    by prof. pop-cult

Maybe this is simply a small budget, independently produced film that's a passion project for Carter, which would explain why nobody has heard of it. That or perhaps "Fence Walker" is a dummy name.

After I posted my entry above, I clicked the link and actually read the article. So, anyway, good for Carter for independently producing his own personal project.

When I saw Hulk in the theaters opening weekend

    by series7

a trailer for X-Files 2: Die Harder came on and my buddy was like....wha? is that what I think it is? And I turned to him and said "Yes, that is Xzibit. I can't believe that he still gets acting jobs either." But I want to believe. Does anyone else have the song I Want To Break Free automatically go off in their head every time they see "I want to Believe" news or stuff? I know when I see that movie all I am going to be doing is humming that damn song.

I like it when people call Chri$ Carter a mastermind...

    by roguewriter

... when in fact he's the talentless, thieving hack who did nothing but crib from everyone around him, take credit for the genius of many other talented folks (Morgan & Wong thought up most of the cool stuff) and drag his series through so many ridiculous revamps and reboots and horrific final seasons that he really ought to go down in television history as master-mindless.... Fuck Chri$ Carter. I hope his new XF movie makes 17 bucks. Then he and Duchovny can go spin up some reason for the failure that isn't a direct result of their shared talentlessness.
