Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who played the immortal homicide detective on “New Amsterdam,” will play starship commander Frank Pike in “Virtuality,” the soon-to-shoot Fox sci-fi pilot created by “Battlestar Galactica” writer-producers Ron Moore and Michael Taylor. Moore and Taylor are both veterans of the “Star Trek” franchise, so the character’s name may be an homage to early Enterprise captain Chris Pike (who could still be cavorting with Vina on Talos IV).
