There's been ALOT of these exlusive Austin screenings of big studio productions as of late. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I was wondering if it juuuuuust might make someone question the objectivity of AICN when it comes to reviewing these and other movies from said studios.
Just a thought.... -
Wanted looks pretty terrible. Much as people knock Indy IV (rightly, or wrongly) it at least showed you what was going on in the action scenes. There's nothing wrong with making them simple, throwing fast cuts and slow-motion and all that shite just makes me think the makers don't know how to do a good action scene so much as avid fart the fuck out of it.

Austin's influence on Hollywood is growing. I've attended plenty of these and written up reviews for the site, but I'm not on anybody's payroll. I write what I think, whether good or bad.

Sorry mate, not questioning the integrity of neither the you the writers nor AICN as a site. AND I'm certain that the influence of Austin in the world of movies is on the rise. But the fact that AICN as of late have been raffling off tickets to big studio-sponsored screenings is - if you're asking me (and I know that no one IS) - an open invitation for questioning AICN's objectivity.
Then again as the site has repeatedly proven by slamming numerous movies that have actually bought adverts here, Harry and the gang have never been afraid of biting the hands that feed them...
So who the hell am I to judge. -

For these studio purchased screenings they like to have a full house, so as it gets close to show time, if every seat isn't full, they start letting people with the passes into the movie...

I just noticed Wanted is rated 18 over here, which frankly is awesome, as the screening of Hulk i was at last weekend was a nightmare. Damn kids. -
