I liked Billy's character. He got punked out on BSG. Dualla, you two timing slut.
-
I'm first!
-
Nope I ain't!
-
Names to faces. Anders and Helo might be twins or the same character for all I know? I've watched every single episode.
-
After all, KITT must be the final Cylon with the red eye that goes back and forth. <p> (Yes, I know - Glen Larson did both original shows and deliberately put the red eye in the car because ...).
-
Sweet, sweet William. You were taken from us too soon.
-
Either Billy or Callie will be the final cylong as neither are currently with the fleet (D'Anna said the fifth wasn't in the fleet) and ofcourse there is still a chance that the religious chick that died is the final cylon; which would make more sense if a religious figure turned out to be a god. <p> Mind you, I still hope it's Dirk Benedict ;-)
-
I know the actor wanted to leave the show but I wish they could have done it much better than they did. BSG Season 1 - some of the finest TV ever (IMO). Season 2.0 - still very good even if not quite up to Season 1 standards. Season 2.5 - apart from the start and the end, some of the worst TV ever. <p> The absolute worst TV ever is a dubious honour I would award to Season 3 BSG's "The Woman King", the absolute low point of a truly anaemic Season 3.5

give him a hug.

Was it that rich of a show that there is a need to reboot? Really?
-
Did it ever cross anyone's mind that he might be the final cylon? I mean, apparently the final cylon is no not in the fleet, and he occupied a fairly significant enough role for two seasons for it still to be a shocker. And the final four have thus far proven to be pretty prominent characters. Tigh is second in command, Tyrol is Chief (or was) of the flight deck, Tori was top aide to the former President, Anders was leader of Caprica's resistance. It makes sense that Billy (also top aide to the former president) would be a Cylon. And maybe he is. It would be TV's best kept secret, and I don't think it would be underwhelming at all. Maybe he is. Maybe that's why he popped up on NBC's radar to play in Knight Rider, albeit it's not a verry glamorous promotion.

Just saying
-
Take a look at the first examples of the reboots. BSG's miniseries versus the two hour Knight Rider movie event. They are not the same in acting, writing, or anything else.
-
young cast as the main protagonists then? Head of Research, a College Professor and an ex-army Ranger all in the their mid-twenties...Right.
-
You know it's true! But, in all seriousness, can someone explain to me the Cylon numbering system. Talking with a friend of mine they seem to number this way: #1=Cavil. #2=Leoben. #3=Dana. #4=Simon. #5=the guy who looks like Kevin Spacey. #6=Caprica. #7=???. #8=Boomer. 9-->12=the ones revealed at the end of season 3. I don't get it... if 7,9,10,11,12 are "different" why is Boomer a "normal" Cylon? Seems to me that she would also be considered a "special" model like 9-->12. Any clarification would be appreciated. thx in advance BSG fans.
-
The first two don't make sense but the ex-army ranger being in his mid-twenties is very likely. Your average military man is about twenty. Come to think of it my buddy is an associate professor and he is 27.

#3 = D'anna #5 = Doral <p> As for the numbering system. Rumour has it that originally, the plan was to just have 12 different models of Cylon - no Final Five or any of that. The different model types may or may not have been aware of all other types. <p> This ties into the note in the mini Adama gets which says there's 12 Cylon models and when Six (also in the mini) says there are 12 models and she is number 6. <p> Also, when Boomer and Tyrol are in the cell and Baltar nearly kills Tyrol to try and force information out of Boomer, she says there are 8 Cylons in the fleet. <p> Anyway, at some point there was a change of plan and they decided to drop the regular Cylon infiltrator/sleeper agent side of the plot and go with the whole mystical Final Five angle. <p> You can see this with the slightly clumsy change of direction. Six tells Baltar that they don't speak of the other model types (the final five) or even think of them. If that was the case, she wouldn't have originally said she was 6 of 12. Also, when the rebel leader Six was talking to Adama in the meeting in Season 4, Adama says we know there are Seven Cylon models. <p> Anyway, because they were going one direction and then changed to another, they were a bit stuffed with the numbering system as they no longer had 5 consecutive numbers. <p> I actually thought they should have made the regular Cylons 2 to 7 (Cavil = 2 and so on), leaving number 1 blank. They could have had this whole Who is Number 1/The Prisoner type vibe. Who is Number 1? You are ... Number Six. They could also have had some Imperious Leader speculation as well.

Didn't he insist on being let out of his BSG contract because he had sooooooooo many movie offers and BSG was holding him back? I guess Gary Burghoff/McClean Stevenson disease was a bit too much to overcome, huh? Well, I'm sure Knight Rider will be that big career boost that staying on BSG wouldn't offer. What a loser.
-
It's never a good career move to leave a hot show because you've 'outgrown' it. <br> BSG --> Knight Rider = downgrade.
-
don't get me wrong, going from bsg to new knight rider would be all kinds of shameful, but I'd hate if this guy doesn't get any work after season 4 finishes somewhere in 2015. <p> also, a question for herc: I heard hogan couple of times now mention he had a character in bionic woman, but as far as I know he wasn't in any of the episodes that aired. so, are there any additional episodes, and am I going to have to buy BW dvd? <p> because that would suck, having to pay money to watch bionic woman...
-
......kinda like the guy who leaves his girlfriend because he thinks she's not hot enough and that his stock is higher in the open market, when the truth is probably that she's way waaay out of his league, or worse yet, he's actually partly right in that she's kind of average looking and maybe a bit on the heavy side, but then hooks up with a more average looking girl out of sheer desperation and a prolonged drought, when he finally realizes that his stock is not as high as he previously thought and that he seriously overvalued himself on the open market, and then only to watch his ex-girlfriend that he dumped, shape up, get some work done and turn into a 10 practically overnight and be the hottest girl on the block. Yeah, that guy is Paul Campbell -> though he was way too talented be be wasting his God-given gifts on Galactica, and now he's on.....Crap Rider. I wonder if his agent still has a job?
-
"Paul Campbell (Billy Keikeya) almost left "Battlestar Galactica" (2004) after the end of Season One since he wasn't under contract. After his new show didn't work out, he returned for Season Two. The producers asked him to sign a five-year contract. He didn't respond and the producers sensed he wasn't committed to the show. They couldn't write long-term story arcs because they didn't know if Campbell would be available. Thus, they decided to kill off Billy, according to Campbell. Though he appreciates quality TV shows, he is not a science-fiction fan. It was difficult for him to leave the show, but Campbell says it was the right choice. He's said he wouldn't mind coming back to Battlestar Galactica as a guest star, playing a Cylon."<p> a good decision? here's what he did instead of BSG<P> 88 minutes (the shitty pacino flick)<p> nationa lampoons bag boy(straight to dvd?)<p> severed (STV?)<p> the long weekend <p>and the aptly titled... <p> nobodys watching (tv). <p> good call paul... no way you could've done any better by staying on one of the best shows on tv. <P>"i'm not into sci-fi" what a douche...
-
He was in either the pilot, or one of the other early episodes. IIRC, he played the father of her boyfriend (the one who dies in the crash) and was supposed to be the inventor of the nanotech, or whatever it was called.
-
Horrible charcter. Annoying as hell. He even died in an extremely lame/funny way.
-
...of a wet mop. The stock of this new series has officially depreciated.
-
He was annoying as fuck. He only got the part because of his hunky height. Best thing they ever did was kill this high school goober off. Paul Campbell is what you get when someone like Loren Dean takes a shit.
-
boyfriend doesn't die in crash, he is shot by starbuck at the end of the pilot. his father was played by mark sheppard (romo lampkin).
-
Not even a BSG actor can save a shitty re-make.
-
Fuck!
-
...too soon?
-
Billy would actually make a better Michael than the Soap Opera Guy they originally hired. There's a little bit of The Hoff in his face and his hair, and Hasselhoff was so good on the original show because he got the joke and didn't take it too seriously and played along really, really well, and the result was a lot of fun and charm. The new guy is too much of a dude.
-
lame.
-
Was the Knight Rider TV movie really liked enough that it warrants trying for a series reboot? Couldn't they spend that money on something else actually worth pursuing?... like a continuance of Journeyman perhaps?
-
At least Ford gets to continue their one hour car commercials. I'd be interested to know how many Mustangs sold because of this shitfest.
-
I'd hardly call him a "vet" of BSG. He could have been, but was written out poorly early on. So I wouldn't call him a vet. Still nice to see him land on a new role.
-
Any thoughts?
-
To the extent that they're making shit up as they go, that's a fucking drag. (Exhibit A-The fucking X Files).<p>Meanwhile, I always thought Billy was a Cylon from the get-go and I was surprised when they replaced him. Then his replacement turned out to be a Cylon. I'm thinking out loud here.<p>Here's mostly what matters: they got rid of Billy and they gave us Rekha Sharma: a good deal for us, and a considerable upgrade.<p>Cult of Sharma.
-
i had been struggling to figure why the hell they would make a character as lame and boring as Tory one of the final five. then i realized it was her position in the cabinet that was important, and THEN i realized that THAT is why they killed off billy - they wanted to make him one of the final five, but needed a full series commitment out of him.
-
...they needed to explain why there were only 7 cylon models on New Caprica. You could argue that they could have gotten around this by saying the other 5 didn't want to reveal themselves yet, but the humans didn't know D'Anna was a cylon yet and she had no problem revealing herself.
