E.R. is never going to end...

    by prof. pop-cult

I'm betting NBC now wants to keep it on the air indefinitely. It will just be run like a daytime soap opera (with different showrunner every several years). It will never end, so long as its ratings are good.

    Finally...

    by mecps

I've been wondering when Appleby was going to resurface in a prime time vehicle, even if it's a large ensemble piece. Hopefully she'll be a little more grateful than some other actress on a medical ensemble show who seems to have forgotten that she got her start on a WB show about teenage aliens....

    by hextexly

Seriously, it's been on for waaaaaay to long. I agree with Captboulder--they should try harder to bring in some of the older cast members.

    by estacado1

Applebee ain't as cute as she used to be. She needs to get in a bikini on a bech somewhere, then make sure the paparazzis are there snap her "candids", then she'll get better roles.

    by frakthetoasters

I hope that Shiri Appleby's character has a fling with Kovac. What can I say? Abby is looking haggard every day.

Or even better she has a fling with Sam??

    That would be brilliant.

    Morris makes watching ER enjoyable

    by big jim

They finale this year gave us the anti-climactic climax of one unknown castmember getting blowed up real good. I say anti-climactic because even if I hadn't seen it in every NBC promo for the episode I still would have seen it coming a mile away.Last scene of ER - Clooney comes home after a hard day at the construction site, greeted by his life-partner Anthony Edwards. They discuss their day as their adopted autistic son, Noah Wyle, plays with a snow globe. And then they all wake up in bed with Bob Newhart.

Shiri already guest starred on ER in the very first episode back in 1994.

Thomas Dekker was in that episode too as a 4 year old boy!

Won't be the first time ER copied Grey's

    by big jim

Their season premiere 2 years ago had a montage that included Abbey giving birth, all set to some sappy pop tune. While Grey's certainly didn't invent it, they use it to varying degrees of effectivness. However, when ER did it it was the worst montage attempt I'd ever seen. The music was too loud and they had dialogue in the shots. You can't do a musical montage with dialogue unless you turn down the music. I firmly believe the music was a last minute addition forced by an executive who wanted to make the episode "be more like Grey's Anatomy".Tell me, is ER the only show on NBC where they are allowed to say "asshole"?

of 2 episodes of ER, the infamous live one back in what 95, 96? and the one where George Cloony and another doctor go to California, don't know why I watched that one, but I didback when Homicide and Law and Order were doing their crossover thing, I remember them wanting to do one with ER as well, where like Jerry Orbach and Munch would show up at the ER or something, I would have watched that episode, but nothing ever came of that

would give this show some closure and that is that is that George Clooney may return. Dont rule out the possibility of Clooney coming back for the finale. Noah Wyle, Eriq La Salle too and of course Lauara Innes.

Let the characters who've been regulars for a while be the focus of the show's last season. I'm sure that's what the fans would want, especially since it usually takes a season before the audience warms up to new characters.

    by howstone

John from Cincinnati was an awful awful show; it's not that I want all the answers given to me, but I want at least one likable character, a show that's true to itself and a story that feels like it's going somewhere. At least Emily is moving up the ladder a little bit at a time (Brothers & Sisters, now ER). Those of you who haven't been watching for a while - it's been pretty darn good for the last few years, especially Maura Tierney.
