Here is a bit of news on that Andy Kaufman movie, which is apparently being called MAN
ON THE MOON. This came from our spy Herbert Hunkey, who took good notes while
Alexander and Karaszewski spilled the beans on Latka (is that how you spell his name?)
Anyway here it is:

Herbert Hunkey reporting on some news from Scott Alexander and Larry
Karaszewski, the ultra-cool writers of ED WOOD and THE PEOPLE VS. LARRY
FLINT. According to them they just turned in their first draft of MAN
ON THE MOON, another bio-pic, this time about Andy Kaufman. So far it
looks like Danny Devito is producing and Milos Forman is directing.

Casting info, Danny Devito wants to play a character other than
himself! They mentioned that Taxi would play a very small part in the
film, but the actors will be characters in the movie. There is talk of
either Nick Cage or Jim Carrey to play Kaufman. The guys said this was
their toughest screenplay to write, it took all summer, but they're
happy with how it turned out. They did extensive interviewing for the
movie and said that sometimes it was hard to poke fun of the character
in the screenplay since the had met the people in real life. Their main
problem was finding the core story. Kaufman, as you may know, was a
tough nut to crack. That's how they approached it - the story of a man
who plays characters as a defense mechanism, never letting anyone in.
I for one, am looking forward to this one.

Also, they mentioned a Village People biopic, that hasn't been started
since the rights have been very difficult to straighten out.
