Emmerich's 2012 gets a female lead!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'm not really big on Amanda Peet. She just doesn't do it for me as an onscreen personality and now she's in a cast of extremely colorful personalities in Roland Emmerich's 2012. She joins John Cusack, Oliver Platt, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Danny Glover.
She plays Cusack's ex-wife, newly remarried as the apocalypse hits. Thoughts?

Let me guess, you'll be positive about the project until you actually see it. After which you suddenly become bewildered by the fact that the movie was shit. How many times do we have to do this little dance with this piece of shit Director? Who cares about his movies. I'll be hesitant to watch this on TBS or USA network 3 months after it's released.

I do not like Amanda Peet as an actor. Hot enough though and Cusack is pretty much the man and Danny Glover is always good, so I guess I'll probably have to check this out. (against my better judgment)

Really solid & underappreciated actress and total babe as well. Shame on you for not being big on Peet, Quint-- you should be HUGE on her. The problem here is that Emmerich blows, and the movie will suck anyway, despite a promising cast. Cusack is on a huge losing streak with dreck like Must Love Dogs, The Contract, 1408, The Martian Child, likely War, Inc., and now this. Guy needs to get a new manager.

Let me guess, it'll all be based around the Mayan calendar prophesy of 12-21-2012, the day the calendar ends and a great astronomical even is going to occur? This topic has already been done real well in the Steve Alten "Domain" book series, and if anything, I would want movie adaptations of those. Then again, Emmerich is known for fun but cheesy popcorn flicks so I am not turning a should to this yet!!!
