Good casting, now make it work

    by mullah omar

I for one would like to see Voight as a hardass bad guy and not just the "doddering/dignified old guy" character he seems to play in all his recent films. This sounds like it has potential.

When the latest super super uber-special edition came out on regular DVD, wasn't it a 5 disc set? I'm almost sure it was. So, on Blu-Ray now, if there's supposed to be such a huge leap in storage space on there, how come even on *that* it's 5 discs? I would think 5 BR discs has to get me about 10 feature films length worth of material, all told.

    by tomdolan04

Yeah, the bad guy list is racking up quite heavily now. Tony Todd, Zombie Almedia, Jon Voight.

Sure the finest (season 2 IMO) of 24 were ensemble pieces but you just hope they've learnt from season 6's lame 'Jack Bauer and Friends' hour, where much of the time was time pissing round with ridiculous subplots you couldn't give a monkeys about (Jack and his brothers wife, Chloe and Morris, the shit way to crowbar Logan back in for a cameo only to semi-kill him off)

    by smackfu

You have no idea how much it saddens me that someone's first mental association with Jon Voight's name is Transformers. It's like name-dropping Robert Deniro and you go 'oh, the guy from Hide and Seek'? (slaps forehead). Not that Jon Voight can even remotely be compared to Deniro, but you get the point.

So is Tony the main bad guy or the fake bad guy?

    by photoboy

I hope he's the main bad guy, it's more badass that way. Jon Voight's a good actor, but Bauer could kick Voight's ass any day. They need someone like Tony to be the main villain.

    by the9points

I'd also hope for a season two style story. Maybe a bit more of the action they bought in around four.

We already who of a few too many bad guys though. I'd have sooner been led to believe Voight had been cast as a Universty Professor only to find he was a criminal mastermind after he killed Chloe.

That's how 24 would've done it back in the day. I look forward to the move though, of course.

    *Fist up* Power-Hour Forever.

    Ditto explaining Almedia

    by tomdolan04

How it gets explained plausibly will make or break this.

    It'll be either:

"I was hurt/died/got better but was brought back to life after they put a sheet over me and now I'm super serially annoyed I don't get to bang michelle all season"

    or

"Hi Jack, yeah ermm Henderson broke into my room and staged a fight that you walked in on. We were pretending obviously. He stabbed me really hard with a needle. The aim was to hide me from...ermm Henderson. Yeah. So I totally pretended to die in your arms, and wasn't fussed when they chucked a sheet over me".

The first is more likely, but surely they'll do that with Logan too?

If hes the bad guy that leaves me hope that Tony is just doing this for some undercover gig he has. Tony cant be a real bad guy can he?

Remember how those first four of season six got on-line at the beginning of 2007? I saw them and the weekend after that I started a journey around the world for the next year. Believe me, you do not want to wait for 24 a whole year, not after those episodes. Okay, the follow-up to that opening was weak, but still there was this feeling that I wanted the ones after the first four NOW AND THEN!!!
